The Sweet Pursuit by Golden Autumn -
Chapter 103
Josiah initially had zero interest. After taking a closer look, he slowly widened his eyes and stared at the screen, asking, "Is that my Z?"
Tanner deliberately jeered, "I'm asking you to look at the flowers. What are you looking at?"
Josiah sat up straight and asked, "Is that or is that not my z?"
Tanner nodded. "Yeah, it's her. She came to see me today and bought a bunch of my favorite food. Say, I'm no longer a child. Why on earth did she buy me so many cakes?"
Josiah was seething with rage. "Are you doing this on purpose, you lousy old man? Call her over this instant and ask her if she loves her grandpa or her teacher more!"
That kid had not come home in such a long time now, yet she went straight to that lousy old man's place!
Tanner kept a straight face and said in a deadpan manner, "Take a listen to what you're saying here. With the friendship between us, do you think I'd fail in snatching away your granddaughter? Of course, she'd pick her teacher!" Afterward, Tanner pointed the camera at himself and chuckled slightly before raising his hand to turn off the video.
After putting the phone down, he was in a good mood and shouted loudly, "The weather's too hot, z! Get inside the house. I'll have someone make you some ice cream."
Suzy was standing in a field of flowers. She looked back at him. "I'm coming now!"
When she arrived inside the house, Suzy received a call from her grandfather.
Josiah's face looked gloomy. Just as Suzy was about to speak, Tanner suddenly snatched her phone away. "You've had that bad temper of yours since you were a kid. Z merely came to visit me, that's all. Do you need to go so far as to call her just to reprimand her for this? If you're brave enough, pack your things and move to River City. I'll ask Z to visit you every single day."
Suzy was dumbfounded, not knowing what had happened earlier, "You're so mean, you lousy old man!" Josian was seething as he scolded, "Why on earth does Z need your permission to come see me anyway. You-"
Tanner quickly hung up the video call, smiled at Suzy, and said, "Let's not stoop ourselves to his level. Let's go. Let's get some ice cream."
Suzy and Jordy looked at each other, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
At three o'clock in the afternoon, someone from the exhibition drove over to pick Tanner up. The car stopped, and Zyaire got out of the cab. He greeted Tanner respectfully. When he saw Suzy, Zyaire was somewhat surprised. "Ms. Suzy!"
Zyaire was 42 years old this year, but he met Tanner much later after Suzy. Hence, even though there was a huge gap in age, he would still call out to her reverently.
Suzy smiled gently. "Mr. Liam." "Please, don't be too polite. I often come by to visit Mr. Lazarus and would occasionally see Mr. JK, but I haven't seen you for quite some time, Ms. Suzy." Zyaire was gentle and polite. After a few conversations outside the door, they got into the car and went to the art exhibition together.
The person in charge of the exhibition, as well as some famous artists in the circle, waited early outside the museum. When the car arrived, they immediately greeted Tanner and respectfully escorted him out of the car. As they were exchanging words, there was nothing but great respect and compliment. The person in charge heard that Tanner's two most favored disciples were also present. After meeting Jordy and Suzy, all of them were astounded. They truly did not expect that Mr. Zyaire's senior turned out to be a young woman who looked like a student.
Everyone introduced themselves, and after getting to know everyone's names, the person in charge led Tanner and his party to the exhibition hall. This art exhibition had been in preparation for two years, and it was incredibly grand. Industry insiders from all over the world would be coming to the exhibition, so all of the paintings that were selected for the exhibition had been screened stage by stage. They were all excellent works of art. Upon entering the exhibition, the crowd gathered around Tanner, Suzy, and the others. They introduced each painting and the artist to them. National paintings required a solid foundation, so most of the artists selected for the exhibition were well-known painters in the industry. Of course, there were also some newcomers who were very talented.
Occasionally, Tanner would stop to listen to Suzy's and Jordy's comments. Suzy's were always sharp as she could tell the special features and finishing touches of the paintings. Only then did everyone start to understand why Tanner favored such a young girl so much. As they walked to the middle of the hall, Tanner stopped in front of a painting and told Suzy with a smile, "Look at this painting." Suzy raised her eyes to see a lotus flower. Her eyes fell on the author's signature at the bottom, and they narrowed slightly. Sycamore Sunshine.
