Suzy nodded at Jordy. "I moved out a month ago." Jordy nodded lightly. "That's good. Constantly living on the mountain has given you a rather antisocial temperament now." Suzy raised her eyebrows. It was something she could not deny. The two chatted for a while, then Jordy asked, "Do you know why Mr. Lazarus asked you to go over?"

"What's going on?" Suzy asked back.

Jordy replied, "Tomorrow, the National Style Painting Exhibition in the art museum will officially be launched. The person in charge of the exhibition invited Mr. Lazarus to come over and check it out. He wants to take you with him."

This was what it was about? Suzy frowned and said, "I haven't painted in a long time. I'll definitely get a good scolding from Mr. Lazarus today." Jordy smiled, looking extremely dashing. "That's why I'm going with you." Suzy breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. "Thank you, JK." An hour later, the car stopped outside a small mansion with a garden. Jordy and Suzy walked in side by side. When they entered the yard, they heard the old man's loud voice coming from the inside, "Add more sugar to the soup! The brat likes sweet things. If you put any less, she wouldn't be able to taste it."

Jordy smiled lightly. "Mr. Lazarus still loves you the most." Suzy stepped on the bluestone slab, crossed the path lined with osmanthus trees, and shouted, "I'm back, sir!" In a blink of an eye, an old man appeared at the door. He wore a dark blue satin shirt. He had a youthful face and a hale, hearty spirit. Seeing Suzy's face, he was happy at first, but he soon stiffened his face and snorted. "I thought you'd already forgotten where I lived at this point!" Suzy said with a stern face, "I was afraid that I couldn't remember, so I specifically asked JK to send me over."

Tanner's eyes widened in shock. "Say that one more time."

Suzy burst out laughing. Then, a smile appeared on Jordy's usually cold and stern face. Suzy held onto Tanner's arm as they walked into the house. The servant had already prepared lunch. Since Suzy was coming, the servants at home had arranged for a lavish meal. Tanner had been obsessed with painting all his life. He had a cheerful personality and was an extremely close friend of Suzy's grandfather. Suzy only became Tanner's disciple because of her grandfather, and that was how she met Jordy.

Tanner's wife passed away three years ago, and he had a daughter who had been living abroad for the past two years. Hence, Tanner had been alone for the past few years. However, his disciples would often drop by. Many others would come over to visit him as well, so Tanner's schedule was always packed anyway.

During mealtime, Tanner talked about the art exhibition, saying that around three in the afternoon, someone from the exhibition would come to pick them up.

Tanner also asked about Suzy's current life events. Except for the matter regarding George, Suzy merely reported to him how things really were. "It's almost summer vacation. Will you come to the design studio?" Jordy asked. Suzy thought for a while and answered, "Perhaps I'll go, but I do have other ideas in mind." "What kind?" Jordy asked again.

Suzy pursed her lips and said, "I'll let you in on them later." Tanner groaned at her, "Why, you brat. You've learned how to keep listeners in suspense!" Once they were done with their meal, Tanner took the two to the backyard to see the flowers he recently planted.

When Suzy and Jordy were looking at the flowers and trees, Tanner stepped aside and unlocked his phone. He opened iMessage and started FaceTiming someone. After four to five rings, the video call was connected. There was an old man in gray clothing on the opposite side. He sat in a reclining chair, seemingly taking a nap under the sun right before the call. He was annoyed from being woken up and scolded, "Why aren't you resting at noontime? Why did you have to call and annoy me, you stinking old man?!" Tanner was beaming from ear to ear. "Stop sleeping, Ol' River. I wanted to show you the new species of peonies I planted. Look, they're about to bloom."

He pointed the camera at the peonies behind him and deliberately turned it a little further so that Josiah River could clearly see the two people who were looking at the flowers near the wooden pavilion.
