"Come over here." The man leaned against the back of the sofa. He was holding a book in his hand and said to her lightly.

Enoah knew that she could not get away from this. Hence, she simply walked over and pretended to be calm. "You haven't gone to bed, Uncle?"

George raised his eyes to look at her. "It's no wonder you were so anxious to find a tutor. So, you were anxious to go out on a date, hmm? Did you get a boyfriend?" "No!" Enoah immediately shook her head. "I just went shopping with my classmate!"

"So your boyfriend is a classmate?" George said in an assertive tone.

Enoah knew that she could not keep this in the dark from her cunning uncle. Hence, she sat across from him and said frankly, "Yes, I have a boyfriend. I know our family is special, but can you not check his background and start trailing us? I merely want to have a normal relationship. Rest assured, he's a very decent guy and I've never told him about our family's situation."

George put his book down, took a sip of tea, and slowly said, "It's normal for you to date since you're a junior in college. I won't run a background check, but you should pay attention to your sense of proportion. Your parents are not at home, so I'm responsible for you."

Enoah immediately smiled brightly. "Thank you, Uncle! You're the best!"

"Stop trying to flatter me and head upstairs to bed." George chuckled and added, "By the way, Ean has accepted your classmate. Let her come over again next week."

"Really?!" Enoah had a bigger smile on her face now. She turned around and walked up while taking out her phone. "I'll call her right now!"

George could hear Enoah shouting when she reached the middle of the stairs. "Are you asleep, Suzy?!"

After the other line responded, Enoah giggled while saying, "My uncle said that you did a great job and you're set to be Ean's tutor. You should come over every Saturday and Sunday morning. What do you think?"

George lowered his eyes and frowned involuntarily. When did he say she did a great job?

Enoah had already climbed up the stairs, and her voice gradually became inaudible. The man thought that there was no need to bicker with a silly girl, so he continued to read the book in his hand.

...

On Monday afternoon, Suzy and Cece Carter were walking to class together. When passing by the foreign language building, a group of people suddenly ran toward them. The boy in the lead was tall and handsome. His eyes were fixed on Suzy.

"It's Yasiel!" Cece pulled at Suzy's sleeve excitedly.

Suzy frowned unconsciously when she saw the huge bouquet of roses in Yasiel's hands. She turned her head and wanted to leave, but in front of her were Tiffany and her group of friends, all of whom looked hostile.

The tale of Tiffany liking Yasiel but Yasiel being into Suzy had been the talk of the entire River University.

In a brief moment, Yasiel was already right in front of her. His eyes appeared focused, and his voice was soft as he declared, "I like you, Suzy Shirley. Let's be together!"

Cece was more excited than Suzy. She kept pinching her arm and giving her a look, trying to make her say yes.

Yasiel came from a wealthy background and was handsome. He was also the president of the student council. For such an excellent person to have unwaveringly liked Suzy for three whole years, what more could she possibly want? A group of people around was roaring, helping Yasiel out by shouting, "Say yes! Say yes!"

The noise was deafening, and the man passing by in the corridor of the opposite general office building heard the commotion. He glanced downstairs inadvertently. Seeing the familiar figure in the crowd, he could not help but slow his pace down.

Suzy took a deep breath. She used to shield herself from the entire outside world. In the past few years, she had worked hard to be gentle and fit in. However, the noise around her made her restless. Suzy looked at Yasiel and said in a serious tone. "I don't like you!"

The smile on Yasiel's face stiffened slightly, but he still refused to give up. He was about to graduate soon. He was running out of time.

Without hesitation, he knelt down on one knee, and his handsome face was filled with persistence. "Stop testing me, Suzy. I know that you like me back!"

Yasiel did not think that Suzy would have a reason not to like him. He simply assumed that her constant rejection was just her playing hard to get. "I'm not testing you. I truly do not like you!" Suzy said expressionlessly.

Yasiel raised his head and looked straight into her eyes. The others became quiet as well, and the atmosphere quickly became awkward.

Yasiel stood up. This was his first time confessing his love in front of a crowd. He sacrificed his dignity, not expecting Suzy to be so ruthless. Feeling somewhat vexed, or furious even, he tried to suppress his emotions. He pretended to be nonchalant about it. "Suzy, if you don't like it when there are too many people watching, let's find a quiet place to talk."

"I've made myself extremely clear." Suzy remained unmoved. She thought that if there were no such feelings involved, one should simply reject the other party. Delaying matters and ambiguity would only cause harm to others and herself. Yasiel's face sank slightly. "You truly don't have any feelings for me?"

"No!" Suzy said without the slightest hesitation.

The roses in Yasiel's hand fell to the ground as his complexion gradually turned ashen. He stared at Suzy before suddenly turning to look at Tiffany. "Do you want to be with me?" Tiffany was stunned. She gritted her teeth, quickly walked over, raised her head, and asked Yasiel, "What do you mean by that?"

Yasiel looked at Suzy and suddenly stretched out his hand to wrap it around Tiffany's shoulders. He pinched her chin with one hand and kissed her fiercely. There were gasps all around them!

Suzy found the situation boring, so she turned around and left. Cece, who was behind her, had just recovered from the shock and quickly chased after her. "Suzy!" Yasiel suddenly shouted hoarsely.

Suzy halted her footsteps but did not look back.

"If you take one more step forward, I promise you that you'll regret it!" Yasiel's eyes were red as he stared at Suzy's back. He was so angry that his eyes were about to pop out. Suzy did not stay still any longer and left without looking back.

Tiffany's face turned pale. She pushed Yasiel's arm away and raised her head as she shouted, "What do you take me for?!"

Afterward, Tiffany shot Suzy a stern glare and strode away.

On the third floor of the building, George had his hands in his trouser pockets and was watching the scene expressionlessly.

"George!" Chancellor Fowell came over and smiled elegantly. He said, "Why are you standing here? Come inside and I'll make you a good cup of tea!" George glanced at the woman who had walked away. He smiled gracefully and replied, "it's stuffy inside, so I came out to take a breath of fresh air." "Something came up just now, so I must've kept you waiting for a long time. Let's talk inside my office," said Chancellor Fowell as he politely led George in. Downstairs, Yasiel had left angrily and sadly, while the others dispersed one after another.

Meanwhile, Cece turned back and glanced at Yasiel's back regretfully. She could not help but grumble to Suzy, "What were you thinking? If you have zero feelings toward Yasiel Quig, who on earth could you possibly fall for? If Yasiel truly ends up with Tiffany, it'll be too late!"

Suzy looked helpless as she said, "I truly don't like him like that. Should I have accepted him regardless?"

"Then who do you like?"

Suzy paused slightly. "No one!"

Cece shot a glance at her and said, "I thought you'd say that you like me!"

Suzy looked at her in astonishment. "Were you in a hurry to go out today so you left something at home?"

Cece raised her eyebrows and asked, "What did I leave at home?"

"Your sense of shame!"

Cece reacted by pinching Suzy's arm. "Suzy Shirley, my heart beats only for you yet you're making me your pastime!"

Suzy giggled and ran away. "Stop it. We have your muse's class today and we're going to be late!"
