Chapter 22

I avoided Gabriel for two days now. Whenever he goes and find me, I used my power to teleport in other places. Other don’t know about my ability to teleport too. But it’s limited. I can use it twice a day. It weakens me if I over use it.

Only two days and our team are done here. I need some time alone to think. Mark already told me to stay. My wolf wants to stay. How about me? Some part of me want to but some part is conflicted with what’s keep happening between us. One moment we’re okay and then it will be ruined by his past, our past.

I can feel Gabriel’s through our link. He wants to talk to me. I’m here at his secret place now and watching the how peaceful the lake is. I must admit, I was smitten by this place. I love what he did here.

‘Are we still avoiding our mate?’ Slade asks.

‘I just don’t know what to say to me. We saw Kisha leaving his room in middle of the night. What does it mean?’ I’m really confuse right now. If Gabriel is doing something, I will feel it.

‘I think we should talk to him. We are being unreasonable here. We don’t have proof that they did something bad to us. We are just assuming right no.’ Slade says.

‘Yeah, I guess we should talk to him.’

Slowly, I lift down the barriers that blocks Gabriel link to me.

‘Angel? Are you there? Where are you? I’ve been trying to talk to you.’ Gabriel says to our mate link.

‘I just want to be alone for some time to think Gabriel.’ I replied.

‘Where are you?’ He asks.

‘I’m here at the lake in your house.’ I answer.

‘It’s our house not my house. I’ll go there and meet you.’ He says.

‘No. I don’t want to be disturb. I want some time alone.’ I said.

‘Oh… Okay, but can I ask you for dinner tonight? I book a good restaurant in town. Can we go there later?’ He asks. He sounds unsure if I will go with him or now.

I blush even though he’s not in front of me. Is he asking me for a date?

‘Are you asking me for a date Gabriel?’ I ask.

‘Yes.’

‘Okay.’

‘Yes! I mean yes, okay. I’ll pick you at six p.m in the pack.’

‘Sounds good.’

‘Okay, I’ll go now. I have meeting with other pack today. Enjoy yourself there. See you later.’ Gabriel says before he disconnects.

This is good about pack and mates. We don’t usually use mobile phones to communicate, but there’s a limitation to it. We can only communicate when we are together or we are in our pack territory. If someone is far, like out of the territory and across the country or in another pack, we can’t communicate them so we used mobile phones.

We are going on a date tonight. I don’t have dress to wear. I should buy something while it’s still early. Wait, I need my best-friend on this.

‘Lani!’ I shouted to her. I used the pack link to connect to her. I can do this even I’m not part of pack. Perks of having a legendary wolf.

‘Oh my gosh Angel! You startle me.’ Lani says.

‘I’m sorry. Can you come with me to town now? I need to buy a dress.’ I ask.

‘Dress? For what?’

‘Gabriel is asked me to have dinner with him later.’

‘Oh my! Okay I’ll just finish whatever your brother and I are doing right now. Meet you at the door in twenty minutes.’

‘The f**k Lani! Too much information. Don’t tell me you’re under my brother right now?’ I said shockingly. They are freaking making out while we’re talking. This is so embarrassing.

‘Actually, I’m on top of—-’

‘Okay bye! See at twenty!’ I cut her off before she spills more. Gosh, I can’t even imagine what they look like. What a best-friend I have.

I look around for the last time and move back to the pack. I can’t teleport now since I already used it twice today and I still got twenty minutes to kill before Lani finishes whatever they are doing. I shift to my wolf and run back to the pack. It’s refreshing to be able to shift once in a while. Slade is enjoying the freedom she has now plus we are in our close to our mate.

I shifted back at the tree near the pack. I don’t want then to see my nakedness again. Gabriel scold me about it even I reasoned that we’re wolf and it’s natural. He’s being him I guess? He’s very possessive and territorial when it comes to me.

I’m not sitting on one of the benches located outside the pack house waiting for Lani. It’s been thirty minutes already.

“Look who’s here?”

I turn around and see Kisha walking out of the forest. She must be out for run. I stiffens for a moment when I saw her wearing one of Gabriel’s shirt. It smells like him. Did they run together?

This girl is playing tricks on me. I don’t like it. She must be thankful because I value her parents, because if I will be honest right now, I will kill her.

“Kisha.” I said.

She sits next to me.

“I didn’t expect that you and Gabriel are mates. Who will think about that? You’re different back then.” She says.

“You’re also different back then. You’re a sweet and caring little Kisha but now?” I look at her up and down. “You become just like the other girls who found my mate interesting to be with.”

“Oh, Angel, you must be wrong. Gabriel’s approached me. I don’t need to do those cheap seducing for him. He likes me before and he still feel the same now.” She says.

“I don’t believe you.” I answer.

“You should. You’re having dinner with him, right? He invited you because I refuse to come with him. You become his second option now.” She says while smiling wickedly to me.

What happened to my sweet Kisha? She’s totally different now and I might not control myself anymore.

“Really? Well I guess let’s see if that’s true. I might not know what happened to you too but I think our bond is stronger than what you think he’s feeling for you.”

“Angel!!!” Lani shouted as she ran out of the pack and headed to my direction. “I’m sorry I’m late. Michael and I ha—-”

“Lani let’s go.” I said.

“Oh, Kisha? Why are you wearing Alpha Gabriel’s shirt?” Lani noticed it too.

“We were together this morning.” Kisha answer, staring at me.

“This morning? I though he went out early because of the pack he’s going to meet.” Lani said.

“Lani let’s go. We’re getting late. I need to be back early.”

“Oh, yes! Let’s go.” I grab her in her arm before she could say anything to Kisha.

We use her car to get in town.

We’ve been here but I still can’t find a dress that I like.

“You don’t like anything here?” Lani ask.

“Yeah”

“Let’s go to the last one. I heard that the owner is good at making dress.”

“Sure, let’s go.”

Lani is right, this shop is great. I’ve seen a lot of dresses that suits with my taste. I pick and try three dresses and I love how it fits to my body. I buy them all in case of emergency.

“You bought three dresses? Are you going on a date always with Alpha Gabriel?”

“No. I mean I don’t know but I love the dresses there. We should come again next time.”

“Sure.”

We bought other thing things too, like bikini and underwear. She told me that Michael is planning to go in a beach with us. He wants a vacation from all of the stress lately. I asked her what it is but she didn’t know. Her mate doesn’t give her much information regarding packs issues. She said that Michael said ‘It’s for males only.’ I laugh how she reenacted Michael’s tone.

How I wish Gabriel and I really work together and be just like Lani and Michael.
