Alina looked at the wolf who was lying on the ground lifeless. ‘He didn’t think about his family once. What about his mate? He was too young to die. He could punish him but he did not do it. He killed him brutally.’

Alina sobbed and turned to Crystal. But what she saw stunned her. Crystal was looking pleased as if she was proud of the king.

Alina patted her shoulder. “Crystal?”

“Hmm?” Crystal was still looking at Aaron.

“Didn’t you feel scare a few minutes ago? Why are you looking happy now?”

“Can’t you see how handsome he is looking while killing that wolf?”

Alina’s eyes widened. “Are you okay Crystal? What are you saying??? Are you gone mad? He killed a person, a wolf. He could be someone’s family, someone’s mate.”

“Alina.” Crystal turned to Alina. “Killing is a simple thing in our pack. King Aaron could kill anyone he wants and nobody dares to stop him. Because everyone knows how strong he is. Only one thing can save your life from his anger and that is don’t offend him anytime. If he gets offended by something, nobody knows what he will do.”

Alina could not believe her best friend was okay with what happened just now. She was proudly saying about it. When did Crystal become like this?

Alina wiped her tears and left the battlefield.

She was walking alone on the road. Everything was not the same as before. She almost controlled herself until he showed her his real face.

‘How could I forget who he is? He is the most dominating king. The King of Lycans. King Aaron Robertson. He told me that he will not accept me. Is he showing me that if I won’t follow his lead he will kill me just like how he killed the man? I saw him looking at my side. That means he noticed me there and still continued his ruthless act.’ Alina thought and walked to the pack house. But when she crossed the road, She did not want to go back.

She went to the forest side. ‘How can I forget my nightmares? It was full of him. How he shifted and tried to kill me. Will it happen to me in real life? Will he try to kill me if I don’t be in accord with his rejection?’

Alina was in deep thought that she didn’t hear someone calling her.

Alina felt someone patted on her shoulder. She was immediately startled.

“Relax. It’s me, not a hunter.” Beta Lucas said.

Alina turned to him and sighed. “Beta Lucas! You almost killed me.”

“No you can’t die. If you die then how will you be our queen?” Beta Lucas said and smiled at her.

Alina was surprised hearing that, “Y-You know about-“

“Yes I know about you and Aaron.”

“Y-You call him by his name?”

“Not in front of others only when we are alone or in front of the family members. I am his best friend. If he dares to keep any secret from me, I will give him a beating.”

Alina laughed at his words.

“You look good when you smile, always keep smiling. A happy Queen will always make her kingdom happy.”

Alina looked down. “I can’t be your Queen. Mate will not accept me.”

“You call him ‘Mate’, huh? I thought it was a bond but you make it a nickname. Nice.”

Alina blushed because she could not help but call the king ‘Mate’ in front of his best friend.

But then she realized what did she see just now.

Beta Lucas saw her sudden changes so he told her, “Let’s go. You should visit the forest. Otherwise, you will lose the way if you go for a run alone sometime.”

Alina nodded and started to walk into the forest with him.

They were walking in the forest. Beta Lucas looked at her and asked, “Do you have any questions in your mind? Why are you sad?”

Alina smiled sadly. “I want to ask something.”

“What?”

“Why did no one stop him today when he was killing the young man?”

Beta Lucas stopped his steps. Looking at him Alina also stopped. She thought she said something she should not say.

“Alina. It’s a different thing. I can’t answer that. It has a clear answer. Nobody wants to mess with him. Everyone loves their own lives. “

“But you all are his friends right? I heard from Crystal that all the officials are his good friends.”

“We are friends but we can not interfere in any of our fights. Yeah, If Aaron would be in danger, it would be our responsibility to save him. But when he is killing someone we can’t stop him. He knows what is good for him and everyone.”

Alina nodded at him. ‘That means no one wants to save anyone from him because they can not save their lives from him either.’

“Alina, he is always like this. He did not take time to kill anyone. That is why our pack is the most successful pack. He made it successful. He is ruthless and it’s him. Nobody can change him.”

Alina closed her eyes and said, “Can you send a message to him from me?”

“Just tell me, I will.”

“Tell him that I am okay with his rejection. If he wants to reject me today I will leave for my university tomorrow. So be it fast.”

Beta Ashar was taken aback. “Did he tell you again about it?”

“Yes, he told me that he doesn’t like me and doesn’t want to accept me. So I also decide to accept his rejection no matter how much I have to bear.”
