“DID YOU CRY, ALINA?”

Alina looked at Beta Lucas and shook her head. “No.”

“Then why are your eyes red?” Beta Lucas said.

“Yes it’s swollen.” Theta Cooper said.

Alina looked away from them. “I-I was sleeping, maybe that’s why.”

Crystal put her hand on Alina’s shoulder and asked, “Are you okay Alina?”

Alina nodded at her. “Yes, I am fine.”

Aaron frowned at Alina. ‘Did she cry all this long?’

But what could he do about that? What he told her was the truth. The earlier she would understand, the earlier she would be prepared for the rejection.

“Everyone, continue to eat.” He ordered.

Everyone shut their mouths and continued to eat.

After dinner, Alina was going to her room when someone back hugged her, she was startled by the sudden action. But then she understood who it was.

“I am sorry Alina. I should not be angry with you anymore. I am sorry. I told you to come with me here and now I am not talking with you. I am not feeling good about it. I was just upset with what you said to Delta Darren, you didn’t say to me first. We are best friends right?” Crystal said while hugging Alina.

Alina nodded her head. Crystal smiled and came in front of the other. “Are you okay? What happened to you?”

“I am not fine, Crystal.” Alina said and almost cried.

Crystal was shocked. “Why? What happened?”

“I want to say something.” Alina said.

“Say.” Crystal said.

They were in the middle of the area of a corner where Alina’s room was situated. So Alina looked around to see if anyone was there.

But she could not take a risk. She held Crystal’s hand and took her to her room. They sat on the bed.

Alina was nervous. How could she tell her best friend that her crush was now her mate? Alina was confused whether to tell or not to tell her.

“Alina? Tell me. I am feeling worried now.” Crystal said.

“Crystal, I-I..”

“Alina I am listening. You what?”

“I-I met the man who always came in my dreams.” Alina said in one breath.

Crystal was shocked. “What???”

“Yes, Crystal.”

“When did you meet him?”

“I met him here, in the palace. Yesterday.”

“WHAT???” Crystal screamed.

“Don’t scream. Anyone could hear us.”

“Who is he, Alina?”

“Actually at first I thought he was a pack fighter.”

“So that was why you were asking me about pack fighters in the morning?”

“Yes.”

“Did he say something to you? What is his name, Alina?” Crystal asked.

“No, that was not the main matter. The matter is he-he..”

“He is what, Alina?”

“Crystal, He-“

Alina got some courage and was about to tell her that he was not a pack fighter but they heard a knock on her door.

“Who is here now? What a bad timing!” Crystal said angrily.

“Let me see.” Alina said.

“No, you sit down. I am opening the door.” Crystal stood up and went to the door.

She opened the door and saw a royal maid. She saw the maid’s uniform. It was red and in her uniform, there was the royal brooch which was only for the royal maid. Crystal frowned at the maid.

“DID YOU CRY, ALINA?”

Royal maids only served the Lycan King. They did not work for anyone else. ‘What is the royal maid doing here?’

The maid looked at Crystal and slightly smiled at her then she looked at Crystal’s behind.

She looked at Alina and asked her, “I want to tell you something, Miss Brown.”

Alina didn’t know about the details of maids so she didn’t know she was the royal maid. In this uniform, one maid came to her in the evening to tell her that the king asked for her. So she at least understood that it was something about the king.

“Sure.” Alina said and replied.

Crystal was looking at the maid who was ignoring her.

The maid shook her head. “I can not say anything in front of others.”

Crystal’s eyes were widened. Alina was also taken aback.

“But you can tell in front of me, I am her best friend.” Crystal said.

But the maid was only looking at Alina.

Alina nodded and went close to Crystal. She whispered to her, “Crystal it’s already late at night. You go and sleep now. Let me hear what she wants to say, I will tell you tomorrow.”

Crystal thought for some seconds and nodded. “Don’t forget to tell me.”

“I will tell you.”

“Okay I am going. Good night.” Crystal said and walked out of the room.

She was thinking about the maid. ‘What is the royal maid doing here? Does Aaron know Alina? Why does he send one of his maids to her?’

She was in deep thought and went to her room. She laid down on her bed. “Aaron, you should send your maids to me. I want to tell you how much I fall for you. Did you send your maid to tell Alina something about her parents? Maybe yes.” Crystal said then she fell asleep.

Meanwhile in Alina’s room,

The maid came to Alina and said, “Hello Ms. Brown, I am Shaline, the head Royal maid.”

“Head Royal maid?”

“Yes, Royal maids only work for the king. I am the chief maid.”

Alina looked at her uniform and saw her brioche was different from what the maid wore today’s morning.

“How can I help you?” Alina asked.

“The king orders you to meet him in his garden.”

“What??”

“Yes. He told me not to tell this to anyone else.”

Alina was shocked. Why would the king want to meet her again?

Alina took a deep breath and nodded at her. The maid smiled at her and was about to leave her room but Alina immediately stopped her.

“Listen Shaline.”

Shaline turned around and said, “Yes?”

“I don’t know where the garden is.” Alina said to her.

Alina didn’t forget how she lost in this pack house just to find the kitchen area. Instead of the kitchen area she went to the King’s area.

“Please come with me. I will take you there.” Shaline said.

Alina nodded and followed her.

They entered the King’s area or Alina could say his palace.

The pack house was divided into two sides. Left corner, where every official and the king’s parents lived. And the right side, which was leading by the right corner. Passing the corner people could enter the king’s palace. It was the king’s side area.

No matter how many times Alina made her remember that it was called a pack house but Alina could not believe it. She thought, ‘How could people call it a pack house just because it is situated in a pack? It is a huge palace. If I get lost and find no one, maybe I will be stuck here for days.’

Alina the king’s palace. She came here today’s morning but didn’t go inside because the first cabin was the King’s office and inside the palace was his resident area.

Alina was amazed with the decorations of the palace. There was a big chandelier in the middle of the ceiling. There were a lot of paintings here and there on the wall. All of their frames were decorated with gold.

Alina looked at the paintings. All the paintings were of giant wolves.

Alina was walking inside, maids were looking at her and her dress up.

Alina was feeling uneasy with their gazes. ‘Are they judging me? What is wrong with my dress? I know it is just a simple dress. But does anyone need to wear royal clothes just to meet the Lycan king?’

All the maids were looking scared when they saw Shaline was frowning at them. They bowed and started to do what they were doing.

“Wow you have some power here.” Alina said when she saw what happened.

“I am the head here. So people respect me or I can say afraid of me. I handle all the work for the king.” She replied.

Alina looked at her. “All the work?” Her face looked upset.

Shaline slightly smiled at her. “I know what you are thinking but our king is not the same like other kings. Maids don’t need to bath him or prepare him. He doesn’t like anyone touching his things. I only handle his other things like his room and office cleaning, managing all the maids work and etc.

Alina blushed at Shaline’s words. How did she know what she was thinking?

They came close to the garden area and Shaline stopped her steps. Looking at her, Alina stopped walking too.

“I don’t know why the King has called you here. But he never calls any woman in his residential area. It is the first time any woman has come here to meet him.” Shaline said.

“Really?” Alina asked.

Shaline nodded. “Hope you won’t make him angry for anything.”

Alina nodded and thought Shaline didn’t know who she was. She was the mate of her King, that’s why her king asked for her and nothing else. But at the same time she was happy that she was the first one who came here.

Shaline left from there and Alina entered the garden.

Alina took a deep breath and started to walk inside. She was walking in the garden and searching for the man who asked her to come here. But her steps paused when she heard the deep voice of him behind her.

“WHY ARE YOU LATE?”
