“Don’t call any of us again. We are not your parents. You are not our daughter.”

Alina shook her head as if her father was watching her.

“No father. Don’t say that. I did not do anything. Believe me. I know you are angry with me. You came to my wedding for me but I disappointed you. I am so sorry, father. But don’t. Say that I am not your child.”

Theta Cooper was watching and listening to her. He understood that her father was behaving badly with her. That was why she was crying and begging to her father. But he knew the situation was something like that. Everyone was angry at her. Because she did not have any proof to prove herself innocent.

Alina was waiting for her father’s reply. He spoke out,

“Who told you I am angry that is why I am saying this. I am telling you the truth. You are not our child. You were an orphan and we just adopted you. Now you did some crime and we don’t want to get involved with it. Did you do it or not? We don’t care. Just don’t dare to contact us again. If King Aaron got to know that, he would punish us for nothing. We don’t want to die for you. Let us live our lives. You are no one to us. So just fight your own battle alone and don’t call us again.”

Saying that her father cut the call without listening to her.

The phone was still pressed to Alina’s ear. She was so shocked that she did not realize that her father cut the call already.

Theta Cooper sighed and took the phone from her. He looked at her and said,

“He cut the call. What did he say?”

Alina was looking nowhere. She was lost in thoughts. She thought about her childhood.

All of her life she thought that they were her parents. But today they declined to acknowledge her as their daughter.

She was an orphan? Did they adopt her? Alina was so confused and felt the entire sky just fall over her. She did not understand what she would do.

“Alina?”

Alina heard her name and felt a pat on her shoulder.

She looked up at Theta Cooper with her lost eyes.

“H-He said I am not his daughter.”

Theta Cooper was stunned. “What? Maybe he is just angry with you. You know anyone would react the same way because they are not aware of the truth. When you prove yourself, they will talk to you. So don’t cry.”

Theta Cooper tried to assure her but Alina shook her head. “No. He said I am not their daughter. They adopted me. He said they don’t want me to contact them and fight my own battle by myself. They don’t want to stay connected with me and break all the relationship in just a simple phone call, Cooper.”

Alina was lost in pain. Day by day her life was punishing her in a new and different way. She did not know what wrong she did that she had to face all of this.

Suddenly Alina remembered what Crystal told her in the dungeon.

She told her that her mother Chloe Graham knew everything about her. Alina was thinking if she knew about her parents too.

She wanted to know why her parents were saying they adopted her. Were they angry with her that was why they were saying that. Or were they really not her real parents?

Alina was very confused. She looked at Theta Cooper.

“Can you tell me where Crystal is?”

Theta Cooper frowned at her. “What will you do with the information?”

Alina wanted to meet Crystal and asked her what she said to her. She wanted to know the real truth. She wanted to know who her real parents were. She wanted to know if they were alive or not. She wanted to meet them.

Alina replied to Theta Cooper, “I have something to talk about with her.”

“But you know she is the culprit.”

“Yet she is wandering around free and here I am becoming the slave. I know.” Alina replied and smiled sadly.

Theta Cooper felt sorry for her. “She is not at the pack house right now. I saw her going somewhere. But you can not talk to her because today everyone is busy at the noble ladies’ party.”

“What is this?”

“Every young lady from the noble families of our pack will come to the party. It’s like a kitty party. It is kind of get together.”

“Oh, I see.”

“It is better if you wait and talk to her tomorrow. But I wonder what you want to talk to her about.”

“She knows something about my parents. I am sure about it.”

Theta Cooper nodded. “If you need any help then ask for it. We four are always with you.”

Alina thanked him and went back to her room.

She spent all day in her room thinking about what her father said to her.

However, she was impatient. She wanted to know everything right now.

She stood up from her bed and took a kerchief. She wrapped it around her body. She wore a long dress but still, she did not want to show the slavery tag to others.

She came out of her room and walked out of the King’s residence. She entered the living launch and asked a maid,

“Do you know where Crystal is?”

The maid nodded. “Miss Graham went to the hall area half an hour ago.”

“Can you come with me? I want to speak to her. Can you call her for me?” Alina asked.

The maid said she would. Alina went in front of the hall area and stood there out of the hall.

When the maid went to call Crystal, Crystal replied to her that she would only meet her when Alina came to meet her in the hall.

Alina did not think and entered the hall. She saw many young women talking and discussing. They were drinking too.

Alina did not focus on others and tried to find Crystal but she bumped into a woman. The kerchief from her body fell to the ground.

She heard some gasps around her and a loud voice.

“SHE IS THE KING’S SLAVE.”
