The CEO Wants To Divorce Me -
Chapter 31
Arabella had just been led into the courtroom by Ezra when she saw Grace Ruth in the relatives' section position from a distance.
The woman had lost a lot of weight because of the sudden accident in her family. Cheekbones were so thin and raised, so fragile that they looked like they would fall apart when the wind blew. Mom's skin, which had been well maintained, had become rough from running around. Her eyes were downcast and tearful, but she just looked steadily at Dad in the dock. Arabella's heart stung, her parents were not far away, but she knew full well that this might be one of the few times their family would be together.
The courtroom was quiet, but the stillness and solemnity took Arabella's breath away.
"Aden Ruth, you're suspected of collecting money for fraud and other crimes, do you have any doubts about the above testimony?"
The eyes of the room moved instantly to the only man standing, the ever serious and steady Aden Ruth in shackles, already helpless from his days in prison.
He hung his head low and closed his eyes soberly for a long time before replying with a sigh, "I have no doubts."
The judge banged his gavel with a snap, "The court is adjourned. The bailiff will please escort the defendant back to the prison for further detention. The next court session will be announced."
Grace Ruth's tears fell instantly, and she covered her lips with silent sobs as she subconsciously tried to follow Aden Ruth, who had been taken away by the guards, but the man's head did not turn, leaving only the half-white hair on his back, and it was only when the heavy door cut off her view that Grace Ruth collapsed in her seat as if she had lost her strength.
"Mom......"
Arabella's voice trembled, trying to call out to Grace Ruth, but when she opened her mouth her voice was so thin that only she knew it.
Why did things happen the way they did?
She thought she had just married a man who didn't love her, but thought she had done nothing wrong, so why had her family ended up in such a situation because of it?
"Ezra, I'm begging you, my dad definitely didn't do any of this." Arabella's eyes were teary as she clutched the man's coat tightly, like she was grasping for a last glimmer of hope. "I'll do anything to save my dad!"
Ezra raised an eyebrow with interest, but the smile on his lips was cruel and appalling, "Anything? Do you think you're in a position to say such a thing to me now?"
Arabella swallowed fearfully as a sense of foreboding grew in her mind.
The man didn't say anything, just turned and led Arabella out of the courthouse.
The driver was already waiting at the door, and when he saw the two get in, he just nodded slightly and drove the car straight out.
It was half an hour before the car came to a halt.
Arabella was ripped off by Ezra, and before she could get her feet back on the ground, she was startled by the lights in front of her.
In the middle of the open-air building, the word "Nightclub" stands out in large letters.
It was the biggest nightclub in the city and even Arabella had heard of it.
Just what did Ezra bring himself here for?
Seeing the woman stop where she was, Ezra got impatient.
"Go! Isn't it to save your Ruth's family? I'll help you after tonight."
Arabella bit her lip, a hint of determination crossing her clear eyes, or straightened up and followed the man inside.
Only she had just stepped through the door when she was choked by a strong smell of smoke. nightclub was huge, and the dim ambiguous lighting made it impossible to see the faces of the people inside.
Ezra led the man straight to the inside booth, and as soon as the door opened, Beth Ruth inside stood up.
"Ezra, you're finally here." She asked the man in fake panic, "Didn't you say you'd surprise me today? Why is my sister here too?"
"She's my surprise for you tonight."
The man raised his hand and several men suddenly came into the room.
They all wore masks to make out their faces, but they were all topless, with exaggeratedly strong muscles that were particularly eye-catching.
Ezra looked at Arabella with cold indifference, a smile lifting the corners of his mouth without trace. "Come all in, this woman will be yours tonight."
Arabella hadn't reacted to this, but when she heard the words, she understood what he meant.
He was going to let these men violate himself here!
"Ezra, are you crazy?! I am your wife!" Arabella screamed, looking at the man with a shocked look on her face, "What have we, the Ruth's family, done wrong for you to torture us like this?!"
The man replied carelessly, "Don't you want to save your father, have a good time with these men and I'll save him." He seemed to suddenly think of something and beckoned to the waiter next to him, "You, by the way, help me to record it. I'll reward you for a good recording."
The waiter, who had never seen such a scene before, glanced fearfully at Arabella in the corner, somewhat at a loss for words.
"What are you waiting for? All of you, get on me!" The man was impatient, and the violent threat in his tone was particularly appalling as he wrapped his arms around Beth Ruth's waist.
"You Arabella deserve this, how could Beth have been poisoned by the outlaws three years ago if it wasn't for you?! Now that Aden Ruth has confessed today, you certainly deserve a taste of the pain Beth has experienced before!" Arabella panics completely, sensing that Ezra isn't joking this time, but really wants to make her pay!
"I had no knowledge of what happened to Beth Ruth! I didn't do that thing at all, I didn't instruct Jack Smith!"
The girl's desperate voice seemed to sob blood, each plea stabbing at her already shattered heart.
"Ezra, will you believe me for once, I never meant to hurt anyone!"
"Is there a single word of truth coming out of your mouth?" Ezra sneered, his eyes never looked at the woman with anything but suspicion and disgust, but no pity alone.
Several of the masked men also stopped hesitating and headed straight for Arabella.
Arabella was wearing a plain white dress, her pale, slender arms wrapped tightly around her body. "Don't come any closer, Ezra is breaking the law, and you will be held responsible if you don't stop!"
The masked men fell on deaf ears as they stepped closer, their blatant eyes lingering on the woman, one man reaching out first and grabbing Arabella's arm, his coarse fingers rubbing the woman's delicate skin, instantly turning it red.
The others immediately gathered around as well, their ragged gasps hitting Arabella's bare shoulders, and she immediately stirred up a wave of goosebumps and a reaction of nausea and gagging from the other day.
The desperation in the girl's heart grew overwhelming as she batted away the hand reaching for her and reached for her rear end.
Since the day Ezra had last forced herself to abort the baby, she had been carrying a small knife pinned to her back every day, just in case something went wrong.
She just didn't expect the danger to come so quickly this time.
The woman drew her knife and held on to it with both hands, guarding her front vigilantly, "Don't come near me again! Or I'll stab you to death with my knife!"
Arabella's deft movements subdued several men, who looked at each other hesitantly, not noticing the hint of determination that crossed Arabella's eyes.
