I walked towards the classes. Several she-wolves were standing outside the classroom. A lot of new faces. I was sad that I didn’t see my friend Avery but I did see Delilah. I heard some of the new ones whispering about Cassius as I approached them. I turned to them. “You three are new,” I said to them. “Who might I be addressing?” I asked them. They all just stared at me. I raised an eyebrow at them, “Are you ignoring me? Tell me your names.”

A brown-haired female stepped forward, “I’m April and that’s Erin and Molly,” She pointed to her friends.

“Nice to meet you all,” I ignored their jealous sneers.

Delilah walked over to me. “Hey sis,” She wrinkled her nose. “You reek of the king.”

I nodded, “Well, we did just have s*x in his office a few minutes ago.” I made sure to emphasize what I said to the jealous she-wolves. The one named Erin rolled her eyes. “Do you have something to say?” I challenged her.

“No,” She rolled her eyes.

I snorted and looked at Delilah. She looked a little pale. “Are you feeling alright?”

She shrugged, “Just in a bit of pain.”

“Pain? Like what kind of pain?” I was concerned.

“It’s no big deal, Jemma.” Delilah sighed as Sarah, the instructor walked up.

“Good day ladies, Queen Jemma. It’s good to see you here.” She patted my arm.

“It’s good to be here Sarah.” I smiled at her. We all followed her into the room. I sat in the middle while Delilah sat beside me. I kept glancing at her as she was wincing in pain. My concern for her was growing. Sarah began the class but my attention was on my brother’s mate. She seemed to relax as the class continued so I could focus on what Sarah was teaching. We were broken up into small groups to come up with plans for a mock alpha ceremony. It was Delilah, April, and I. We were trying to come up with a playlist of music.

“What songs would you choose, Jemma?” Delilah asked me.

“None that are appropriate for a ceremony,” I laughed. “Maybe some eighties songs or something like that.”

April scoffed, “Why not anything modern like Taylor?”

“I don’t like modern stuff like Taylor. Well, I like modern metal just no pop.”

“Why not?”

I shrugged, “She is just not my style of music. I prefer Slayer or Gojira.”

Erin scoffed from the next table over, “I didn’t realize you were so savage,” She sneered at me.

“Whatever,” I rolled my eyes.

“I should have been the king’s mate,” She mumbled quietly to her friends.

“What was that?” I said to her.

She shook her head, “Nothing, Jemma.”

“That’s Queen Jemma or your majesty to you.”

Erin pointed at Delilah, “She just called you Jemma.”

“Um she is my brother’s mate so that makes her family,” I explained to the jealous she-wolf. “I know everyone here wishes they could have been the King’s mate but you aren’t so get over yourself. He’s mine.” I glared at her for a second before turning my attention back to Delilah and April.

Erin looked like she was going to say something else but then Delilah let out a scream and doubled over. “Delilah?”

She fell to her knees while holding her stomach. Tears flowed out of her eyes as I knelt beside her. Everyone else stood around us. “We need to get you to the hospital.” I started to pick her up.

“No your majesty, you shouldn’t exert yourself like that,” Sarah said to me.

“Well, she needs help. Can any of you carry her?” They all shook their heads. I glanced at Delilah and noticed she was bleeding. “s**t!” I stood up and ran out of the classroom. I noticed a couple of guards walking by. “You!” I shouted to one of them. They stopped and looked at me. “I need you, now,” I instructed a black-haired male. He followed me into the room. “My sister-in-law needs to get to the hospital.” I pointed to Delilah.

The guard nodded, “Yes your majesty,” He picked up Delilah, and then we ran out of the room. ‘Iain,’ I mind-linked my brother. ‘You need to get to the hospital now.’

‘Why what’s wrong?’ He replied with alarm.

‘Something is wrong with Delilah,’ I told him. We reached the hospital. Angela was standing by the front desk.

“What’s is going on?” She asked me.

“She just doubled over in pain, “I explained.

Angela ushered us down the hall into a room and the guard placed Delilah on the bed.

“Thank you,” I said to him. “You may go back to your duties.” He bowed and then walked out of the room.

“Delilah! Jemma!” I heard m brother shouting down the hall.

I poked my head out of the room, “She’s down here Iain,” I shouted to him. He ran into the room as Angela had begun to examine Delilah. Iain looked pale as his mate was screaming in pain and bleeding heavily. “I’ll step out so Angela has room to work.” I gave my twin a sympathetic look. ‘Cass, I’m at the hospital.’

‘What!” He shouted through the link. ‘What happened?’

‘I’m fine, it’s Delilah.’ I explained as I sat in the waiting room. I could hear Delilah screaming and I felt tears fall out of my eyes. I sensed what was happening and I couldn’t help but cry for her and my brother. ‘Leopold is beside himself,’ Leonora sounded sad in my head. Leopold is Iain’s wolf and Leonora’s twin. Even though we are both mated we still feel each other’s pain and sadness. ‘They lost the pup,’ Leonora whimpered sadly.

‘Oh no,’ I replied to her as I started to sob. ‘Poor Iain.’ I looked up as Cassius walked into the room. He sat beside me and wrapped his arms around me. “They lost the pup,” I whispered to him.

“I’m so sorry to hear that,” He replied sadly. “How do you know?”

“Leopold told Leonora.”

“Leopold?”

“Iain’s wolf,” I explained. “He and Leonora are twins like Iain and I are. They are connected and we feel each other’s pain and sadness.”

He squeezed me tighter as we watched the doctors and nurses run up and down the hall. We sat in the waiting room for almost an hour before Angela came out. She looked exhausted. “I guess you already know what happened.” She said to me.

I nodded through my tears. “My brother’s wolf told my wolf.”

She sighed, “I did what I could but I couldn’t save the pup.” I saw tears in the doctor’s eyes. It was never easy to lose pups.

“I’m sure you did everything you could, Angie,” Cassius tried to reassure his friend. Angela sighed and walked out of the room. Cassius held me for a few more minutes and then I felt a heart-ripping pain in my chest. I screamed out in pain and doubled over. “Jemma!” Cassius shouted to me. “Jemma, what is wrong? Angela!”

Leonora howled sadly in my head. ‘What’s happening?’ I asked her. ‘Delilah just rejected your brother.’

‘What?’ I replied to her. Angela has run into the room as I crouched on the floor holding my hand on my chest. “I think my brother has been rejected by his mate, “I managed to breathe out.

“You can feel that?” Cassius asked with concern.

“Yes, “I replied as the pain slowly waned. He helped me get to my feet and I leaned against him. Iain was standing in the doorway. “Iain?” I said to my brother. His face was red from tears and grief. I stepped towards my brother. “What happened?”

“We lost the pup and then she rejected me,” He mumbled and then stumbled away from the room.

“Iain!” I shouted after my brother. I could still feel my brother’s pain and grief as Leonora was trying to soothe her twin. I watched as he ran out of the hospital. I went down the hall to Delilah’s room. She was sitting up on the bed with tears in her eyes. “What happened? Why did you reject him?”

“I am broken,” She looked at her hands. “I lost the pup because I am incapable of carrying one to term.” She said as tears fell down her cheeks. “What kind of luna can’t provide her alpha with pups?” She sobbed. “So, I rejected him.”

“Delilah! How could you do that to him?” I was somewhere between angry and grieving.

“Jemma, you have everything. The perfect mate. The crown. You can carry pups,” She cried. “Iain deserves a mate that can provide him with an heir.”

“Iain doesn’t care about that. He loves you, Delilah.”

She shook her head. “He’ll get over it. I am just going to go back to my pack while he finds someone else to be his luna.”

I wasn’t sure what to say to her. I was angry and hurt for her all at the same time. ‘Jemma, we need to find Iain.’ Leonora sounded concerned. ‘I think he is about to do something to hurt himself.’ Tears fell out of my eyes as I glared at Delilah. “I have to go find my brother before he hurts himself, now,” I growled as I ran out of the room. Cassius stopped me. “Cass, I have to go find Iain.” I pushed past him.

“Jemma,” He grabbed my arm stopping me from leaving.

I tried to pull my arm from him, “Cassius, I need to go find my brother. Please let me go.”

“I can’t let you go alone.”

“My twin needs me.” I managed to get free from his grip. I started to strip off my clothes as I ran out of the hospital.

“Jemma!” Cassius was frantically calling out to me.

Once outside I shifted into my white wolf. ‘Find Leopold,’ I told Leonora as I let her take charge. She was just a frantic to find her twin as I was.

‘Jemma, come back,’ Cassius linked me.

‘Cassius, please calm down. Leonora and I need to find Iain before he does something to hurt himself. If I need you I will call you, okay. You need to trust me.’ I explained to him.

‘Please be safe,’ He conceded.

‘Thank you,’ I said as Leonora rushed through the woods. Her sense heightened as she was trying to find our twins. We caught Iain’s scent. ‘Iain!’ I shouted through our link. ‘Iain where are you?’

‘Stay away Jemma!’ He snarled in response.

‘No!’ I shouted as I ran towards the scent. Leaping over logs and running through streams we followed the trail he left behind. I then saw his naked figure standing at the edge of a cliff. ‘Iain!’ I shouted as he looked back at my white wolf. Tears rimmed his blue eyes.

‘I’m sorry, Jemma’ He said as he turned away from me and started to step off the cliff.

‘IAIN!’ I cried as Leonora charged towards him just as he was about to fall.
