The Alpha King's Rebellious Queen -
The Alpha King’s Rebellious Queen Chapter 57
Jemma’s POV
I left Nicky with Izzy and Terry and went downstairs with Cassius for our dinner with my mysterious Uncle Reed. I was a bit nervous as we approached the small dining room. Cassius wrapped his arm around my shoulders. “I can feel your nervousness, love. There is nothing to be nervous about.” His deep voice soothed me.
“I don’t know why I feel so nervous, Cass.” I sighed as we entered the room. It wasn’t exactly small but compared to the main dining room it was. The table could only seat about eight rather than forty. The room was still filled with antiques and paintings that cost a fortune. A moment after we arrived Elder Reed arrived with Grand Wizard Tuatha.
“I brought Tuatha here if you don’t mind,” Reed explained.
“That is fine Elder,” Cassius nodded while ushering them to the table. I sat beside Cassius while Reed and Tuatha took opposite seats. Omegas brought in our dinner. Some salmon with veggies and rice. I took a few bites right away as I was quite hungry.
“The twins are growing fast,” Tuatha remarked. I looked up at the wizard who was dressed in a crushed purple velvet robe that seemed to make his white beard pop. His golden eyes crinkled in a smile.
I nodded. “Yes, it seems so. They are of royal alpha b***d.” I glanced at Elder Reed. “Why does my father hate you?”
He looked up at me. “It’s a long story, your majesty.”
“You said that and it’s Jemma,” I said to him with an air of impatience.
He sighed and took a sip of wine, “We will get to that. I assure you.”
We ate in silence I watched as the men all sipped wine. I was a little envious. I only had juice and water. I wanted wine. “Do you wish for wine?” Tuatha asked me.
“Yes,” I mumbled. The wizard laughed.
“So, where do I begin,” Elder Reed spoke up at last. ” Perhaps with a little history lesson about our family line.” He sat back on his seat pushing his plate of food away. “White wolves are direct descendants of the Goddess Selene, herself.” My eyes widened at that. He laughed. “It seems this is information you have never heard.” I shook my head. “Well, this is part of the reason there is a riff between your father and me. I digress. Anyways we are descended from the Goddess. She created us to be guardians of the werewolves. We are hardwired to be fighters and warriors. Sitting still is difficult for us. Males and females have the same inclinations.”
He paused as I was listening intently. Forgetting the food in front of me. He took another sip of wine. “There were are one time four bloodlines of white wolves. Now there are only two left. The Moonraker line and another the Goldraker line. The Goldrakers stay outside of the kingdom’s jurisdiction. I have contact with a few of them. Like us they are warriors. In the past, we never mated with ranked wolves. My sister is the first to my knowledge to be mated to an alpha. A white wolf of alpha b***d is immensely powerful,” He gave me a pointed look.
“I never felt that powerful,” I mumbled. The men all laughed.
Reed smiled at me, “You remind me a lot of my sister. Anyways, Victoria resisted mating with John at first. She just wanted to be a warrior for the kingdom and not a Luna. She felt being a luna would stifle her. But John being a typical Alpha pursued her relentlessly.”
My eyes widened as I had never heard about that before. My father had always made it seem like his parents had a blissful mating.
“Eventually Vic gave into him and six months later they had your father. Vic wanted no other pups and went hardcore into being a royal guard despite John’s objections. He wanted her to be a good little luna and stay home,” Elder Reed sounded almost bitter.
“Phillip mentioned that his parents fought a lot,” Cassius added.
Elder Reed sighed, “We white wolves are high strung and don’t like to be caged. Vic felt John tried caging her. We are good soldiers when it comes to being warriors but we still like to be left to our own devices. I rejected my mate to save her from the trouble of having a white wolf mate.”
“That’s sad,” I said to him.
“You tried rejecting me, Jemma,” Cassius tried to remind me.
I shifted my gaze to him.
“Well, that’s because I didn’t think I was queen material and I just wanted to be a simple warrior.”
“So did Vic, she just wanted to fight not to lead,” Reed explained. “That’s what I have done all of my life is to fight. I still train the kingdom warriors on occasion.”
“And you do a bitchin job at it, Elder.” Cassius complimented him.
My uncle shrugged, “I just teach them what I know. Now like I said we normally aren’t mated to ranked wolves. The highest rank in the past was Delta. Vic being mated to an alpha was unusual. Then you came along and I wanted to train you myself but your father wouldn’t hear of it. He blames me for how my sister was. I didn’t convince my sister to take on a legion of vamps. That was all Vic.” He downed his wine. “Vic felt she had gone soft from her years of being a luna so she wanted to prove she still had it. And unfortunately, it cost her.”
“Phil told me her heart exploded,” Cassius added.
Elder Reed nodded, “Yes that is what happened. We feel our emotions in extremes thus causing our bodies to respond negatively. That was another thing I wanted to teach you from a young age was how to control your emotions.”
I snorted. “Yeah, that would have come in handy. My heart almost exploded a week ago when Cassius and I fought,” I glanced at my mate who looked away from me. That was still a sore subject between us. “Luckily, my wolf stepped in and put me to sleep.”
“That’s good you have a good relationship with your wolf. When I asked to help you, your father took it that I was going to take you away from the pack. That was not the case. I just wanted to help you because Phillip didn’t understand what it meant to be a white wolf. But Phillip did inherit his mother’s hard-headedness.” The elder chuckled lightly. “Anyways, we fought about it and he banished me from his pack and from contacting you.”
I was surprised to hear that about my father. He always seemed like a reasonable man to me. The kind to think over his decisions rather than act on impulse. “Now, about my children. You seemed alarmed when I told you they were white wolves also.”
The elder looked at Tuatha. The wizard cleared his throat, “I believe they are the wolves of the prophecy. Two white wolves will be key to saving this world from falling into darkness. I believe a war is coming. A war between worlds. The demons have been trying to break out of hell for centuries and in time they will. Two white wolves will unite the earthly species and thus securing the power they need to defeat the demons and keep them from invading the earth.”
“What do you mean by uniting the species?” Cassius asked. “We are pretty united now.”
Tuatha looked at my mate, “I would call tense treaties unity, your majesty. What I mean is that your children will most likely not have wolves as mates.”
“Really? You mean they’ll be mated to other species, like witches or vampires?”
Cassius growled beside me. “No child of mine will be mated to a vampire.”
“Even if the Goddess deems it so?” I looked at him.
He snorted. “Why would the Goddess do that?”
Tuatha cleared his throat, “If Selene felt that mating one of your children to a vampire was necessary she would. Vampires don’t have mates in the way you wolves do. They choose their mates. But if the vampire in question were a hybrid Selene may choose that one.”
“King Romulus and Queen Guinevere’s son Dominic is a hybrid like his mother. He is both a werewolf and a vampire. He is set to become king of the vampires when he reaches twenty-five.” Elder Reed added to the conversation.
Cassius stood up with a growl. “I don’t care what you both say. No pup of mine will be mated to a vampire and that is final. This conversation is over. Come on Jemma,” He reached for my hand.
“Cassius, be reasonable,” I replied to him. “You can go ahead and storm out but I am staying to hear more about this.” I folded my arms and glared at him.
He stepped towards me, “Jemma.”
“You can Jemma me all you want. But I am not opposed to one of our children mating with a vampire especially if it means saving the world. King Romulus didn’t seem that bad which tells me his son isn’t-“
“Jemma!” Cassius barked as his eyes changed from blue to black, “Quit arguing with me.”
“No,” I snarled at him.
His hands opened and closed in fists before he let out a room-shaking growl. I could see he was on the verge of shifting. He took one last look at us and then ran out of the room. ‘Enoch needs to run,’ Leonora said to me.
‘Then let him,’ I replied to her. I looked at the elder and wizard. “I am sorry about my mate.”
They both shrugged. “It wasn’t easy information to hear,” Tuatha said to me. “Look, King Romulus as far as vampires go is very level-headed. I mean he had been alive for centuries. He’s had practice,” The wizard chuckled.
“I’m sure Cassius will come around eventually. But thank you, gentlemen. I learned a lot.”
“Jemma, feel free to contact me anytime if you need it.” Elder Reed smiled softly as we all stood up.
“Thank you, Uncle Reed.” I returned the smile, “I’m sure I’ll need it. I would love to train with you sometime.”
He laughed. “I would love that. After those pups are born of course.”
“We can still do some easy training,” I rubbed my belly.
He shook his head. “I don’t do easy training.”
“Oh,” I sighed.
“You are a lot like my sister,” He pulled me into a hug which was warm and soothing. Then he pulled away, “But you are also your own person. You are a lot warmer towards others. Something I suspect you inherited from your mother. Vic wasn’t a people person. She preferred being alone.”
“I heard my grandmother could be cold. My father has even mentioned that.”
The elder smiled, “She was a good woman though. I miss her.” His smile faltered slightly. “I have pictures of her and other family members I would love to share with you sometime.”
“I would love that,” I replied as we walked out of the dining room.
“Queen Jemma, I must leave now. Tell the king that I and my coven members have detected no other magic being used around the palace. If he would like I can have someone stay to keep watch,” The wizard informed me.
I nodded at the wizard, “Thank you Tuatha. I will pass that information onto my mate as soon as he comes back from his tantrum.” The wizard smiled and then disappeared. “He likes showing off,” I chuckled.
“You have no idea,” Uncle Reed laughed.
I saw my brother Iain walking down the hall. He looked a bit upset, “Iain!” I called to him. He stopped and turned to me. I jogged up to him. “Iain are you alright?”
He sighed. “Delilah has been ill since yesterday. She can’t keep anything down. The doctors suspect it’s the pregnancy so they are keeping her for observation. I left for a few minutes to get dinner but I am heading back now.”
“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. Give Delilah my regards.” I hugged my twin. He looked past me. Uncle Reed was standing behind me.
“Who is that?”
I pulled away from my brother and turned to our uncle, “This is Elder Reed Moonraker.”
Iain raised an eyebrow, “Moonraker, wasn’t that Grandma’s maiden name?”
I nodded, “It was. Elder Reed here is a white wolf-like I am and well Grandma Victoria was his sister.”
Iain’s eyes widened as he looked at the elder. “No s**t?”
“No s**t, Iain,” Elder Reed extended a hand to my brother.
“How come I never heard about you?”
The elder laughed. “It’s a story for another day, young alpha. I will be happy to tell it to you or your sister here can tell you.”
Iain sighed, “I would love to hear that story, but I have to go check on Delilah.”
I hugged my brother again. “I’ll be praying to the moon goddess for her to get well and for your pup to be alright.”
Iain kissed my cheek, “Thank you Jem. I love you.”
“Love you, Iain.” He squeezed my arm before jogging away from us.
“You two are close,” Uncle Reed remarked.
“As close as twins can be,” I snorted.
“He is a spitting image of Phillip.”
I nodded, “Yeah. Some people get them mixed up even though my father’s hair is nearly white.”
“Anyways, I have to be going, Jemma. I will see you soon,” Uncle Reed smiled at me and held out his arms, “Can I have another hug?”
“Sure,” I fell into his arms. “Thank you.” We parted ways and I watched as Elder Reed made his way out of the palace. I sighed and decided to go upstairs to my room to wait for my angry mate. I went to Izzy and Terry’s room first. I knocked on the door. “I came to check on Nicky,” I said to Izzy as she opened the door.
She nodded and let me in. Nicky was fast asleep on her couch with his little stuffed wolf. He looked peaceful. “I hate to move him.”
“He is alright there.”
“Was he a good pup?”
Izzy smiled, “Very good. He and Terry played with his cars and then I took him into my craft room and let him go wild. He is a very creative little pup.” She laughed, “And he loves glitter.”
“Oh, dear.” I looked at him closer and he had glitter in his hair. “That’s going to be fun to get out.”
“Good luck with that,” Izzy laughed. “Where is Cassius?”
I sighed as we walked into the hallway. “Oh, my mate got angry during dinner over something that Tuatha said so he ran out. I suspect he is running around the kingdom in angry wolf form.”
“What information got him that angry?” Izzy asked with concern.” “There is a good chance that one of these pups,” I indicated my belly, “Will be mated to a vampire hybrid to save the world.”
Izzy’s eyes widened. “Oh, I see.”
“Yeah, I mean if it’s ordained by the Goddess then I won’t be against it. Unless the vampire is bad to my precious pup but if it’s for the good of all of us, then I can’t object.”
“Neither will I.”
“I just need to convince Cassius that it’s a good thing. Hell, it may not even happen.”
“Well, if the information came from Tuatha then it most likely will happen. He has never been wrong before.” She explained.
I sighed, “Shit.”
She laughed. “Yeah, I agree.” She patted my arm. “Anyways, I am heading to bed. Nicky will be fine in our room you can come to get him in the morning.”
“Thank you, Izzy,” I hugged her. “I am going to go wait for my wayward mate.”
“Good luck.” She smirked and then walked into her room.
I walked down to my room and walked in as I saw a black wolf leap onto the balcony. I rushed forward and opened the door for him. He walked into the room and shifted into my naked mate. Cassius didn’t say a word as he went over to his minibar and poured himself a drink and sat on the couch in a heap. I sat beside him. “Are you still mad?” He shrugged and sipped his drink which smelled like bourbon. “I would think you of all people would trust the Goddess’s wisdom. If she feels that one of our children should be mated to a vampire for the good of everyone then I trust her wisdom.”
He growled lowly. “I just don’t like it.”
“Cassius, it won’t be that bad. King Romulus seems to be civilized and reasonable. I mean I only spent a few minutes with him. But I won’t object to the idea. Unless that vampire mistreats my pup.”
He smiled slightly, “It will take some time for me to get used to the idea.”
“We have at least eighteen years before we have to worry about it, okay? Let’s just not worry about it for now,” I leaned towards him and straddled his laps. He took a sip of his bourbon. I licked his lips savoring the whiskey flavor. “Mmm good whiskey.”
He raised an eyebrow at me, “Alcohol isn’t good for the pups.”
I rolled my eyes, “Licking whiskey off your lips isn’t going to have any effect on them.” I leaned down and smashed my lips against him. He wrapped his arms around me. He growled lowly as our tongues became entangled as the k**s deepened. I could feel him getting hard against me. I rubbed myself on him.
“Oh, you better intend on finishing what you are starting, ma’am.”
I grabbed the sides of his face and looked deep into his eyes, “I wouldn’t start it if I wasn’t going to finish it.”
He growled and ripped my shirt open and started massaging my breasts.
“Hey, I liked that shirt.” I m****d as his tongue swirled circles around my n*****s. My head rolled back as I steadied myself on his shoulders. He held me tight and stood up with me in his arms. I wrapped my legs around his h**s and he dropped me on the bed.
“Take off your pants,” He ordered.
I did as I was instructed and he pushed me further onto the bed and lay beside me. His fingers began to massage my clit causing me to m**n out loud. “Oh f**k!” I licked my lips as he placed his head between my legs. I cried out as his tongue began to swirl my bud while his fingers entered me. I grabbed his hair as I began to writhe from the pleasure he was giving me. “Cassius!”
“Scream my name, baby,” He growled as I looked down at his deep blue eyes. I bucked my h**s as he licked and sucked. One hand began to massage my breasts. “Come undone for me.”
I screamed and m****d as his fingers increased their speed. He then stuck his tongue in me and I gripped the sheets on the bed. I bit down on my lips as I felt myself close to the edge of o****m. My walls clenched around as he pulled out his fingers and replaced them with his tongue.
“c*m for me,” He purred.
I shuddered and screamed as an o****m coursed through my body. “Oh Cassius,” I m****d. He smiled at me.
“You taste like honey, baby.” He kissed his way up my body. Stopping at my belly to gently caress the soft skin. It was still relatively flat with some semblance of a bump. He continued kissing up my body stopping to lick and caress my breast before placing his lips on mine. He positioned his c**k against my entrance and thrust in while looking me in the eyes. He clasped my hands above my head as he began to pound into me. I wrapped my legs around his h**s.
I m****d loudly as his thrusts became harder and deeper. “F**k.” I breathed out as our lips devoured each other. He pulled out of me and had me roll onto my stomach. He then thrust into me again and lay on top of me. His teeth bit into my mark as I scream for him. He pulled me up onto my knees and went deeper and faster. The bed squeaked in protest. I felt myself at the edge of o****m again as I screamed and m****d. He slammed into me as I screamed out my o****m. Seconds later I felt his hot seed spill into me. We collapsed onto the bed. I lay on his chest as my hair spilled around us. “I love you,” I traced my hand around his n*****s.
“I love you too, my queen.” He mumbled as his arm wrapped around my body. I saw his eyes starting to close. I smiled at him as I caressed his cheek.
“Sleep, my king,” I whispered to him as his breath evened out. I found myself growing tired. I fell asleep listening to his heartbeat.
