It had to take me to be in danger before Dexter confessed his feelings for me.

I was shocked when he turned around to face me,

"You’re awake?" He muttered and I nodded my head. He came towards me and sat down on the bed,

"Are you alright? Do you feel any pain?"

I didn’t respond immediately because I was trying so hard to figure out what had happened to Dexter and why he was acting this way. He had earlier acted like he was incapable of ever loving me,

"I’m fine," I responded, and tried to stand on my feet, but I winced when I felt pain. Dexter held me down,

"Don’t move, you’ll hurt the baby." He uttered sharply and I widened my eyes at him,

"B...baby? What baby?" I questioned with a shaky voice and trembling fingers wondering what he was talking about but he remained quiet without his gaze leaving mine,

My nervousness intensified instead, and I swallowed a lump of saliva, "What, baby, Dexter?" I questioned and his response left me gasping in shock,

"You’re carrying a baby inside of you Amelia. The doctor confirmed you’re three weeks pregnant."
