Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love -
Chapter 587 Not At All
As soon as Charles finished his words, he stopped the car at Daisy's house.
"It's half past six in the morning, Joseph. Daisy is still sleeping at this time," Charles said.
"Doesn't she care about me at all?" Joseph backfired, ignoring Charles' remark. He knitted his eyebrows in disappointment.
"You have done too many wrongs in the past. If you want to get Daisy back, you should pay for those mistakes," Charles answered.
"All right, I know. Bye, Charles. I'm leaving." Joseph waved Charles off.
Charles could only watch until Joseph went into the yard.
Daisy tossed and turned all night, unable to completely fall asleep. Then, she suddenly heard the sound of a car outside. She instinctively jumped out of bed and ran to the window.
She opened the curtains and saw Joseph walking over.
Daisy's heart skipped a beat. Joseph was back? Had he come back safe and sound?
However, Daisy did not want Joseph to see that she had been worried sick about him, so she turned around and went back to bed. She crawled under the covers and pretended to be asleep.
Joseph thought that maybe Daisy was also worried about him, so he hurried to the bedroom to tell her that he had come home safely. But when he pushed the bedroom door open, he found Daisy sleeping soundly.
He stepped in, closed the door behind him, and went to the bathroom quietly.
Daisy sighed with disappointment. This man had dated so many women in the past, but he still could not guess what a woman was thinking! Joseph went to the bathroom to take a shower. After getting dressed and drying his hair, he returned to the bedroom. Daisy was still sleeping.
Joseph did not get some rest last night and felt exhausted. He lifted the quilt and got under it.
He did not want to disturb Daisy, so he carefully slipped in bed and kept his distance from her.
He closed his eyes.
Just as he was about to fall asleep, he felt a sudden warmth against him. Daisy wrapped her body around him.
Joseph smiled a little as he felt flattered. "Are you finally awake?" he asked.
However, he did not get any reply from Daisy.
She just leaned her head against his chest, her eyes still closed.
Joseph knew that it was a habit of Daisy's, but he could not help feeling a little disappointed.
He sighed. How could Daisy sleep so soundly? Was she not worried about him?
"I see. You didn't miss me. I thought you would worry about me," Joseph whispered.
"You have done something bad. Why should I worry about you?" Just when Joseph thought that he still could not get a response from Daisy, Daisy suddenly answered in a reproachful tone.
Joseph was overjoyed. "You're awake. I didn't do anything wrong, Daisy. They took me to the police station to ask me about the Romantic Private Club. I know nothing about it, so the police let me go. They realized that I was innocent. You have to believe me. I'm a good person. In the past... It was all my fault, I admit it. But I'm not the same person as before. I love you, Daisy. Really. Please, you have to believe me."
Joseph's anxious voice amused Daisy.
"Okay, I believe you. You are a good person now. Go get some sleep. I didn't sleep all that well last night, too," Daisy said with a smile.
Joseph breathed a sigh of relief. "Tell me. Were you worried about me so you didn't sleep well last night?"
Joseph stroked Daisy's long hair, his beautiful eyes brimming with expectation.
At this point in time, although Daisy was still a little resistant to him, she no longer drove him away.
It could only mean that she had decided to give him another chance.
"I don't waste my time worrying about bad guys like you. What I was worried about was that if you went to jail, all the women you ever loved would cry their eyes out every day," Daisy replied with a sly smile. "I don't have any other woman. I swear that it's you I only have now, Daisy. My heart, body, and spirit belong to you. Every moment of me now and in the future belongs to you. Besides you, I won't have any other woman from now on." Joseph raised his hand and swore solemnly, "I swear to God that I will only love you, Daisy, for the rest of my life. If I don't keep my word, I will be..."
Before Joseph could finish his words, Daisy's lips were already on his.
Don't swear, Joseph. You are not so bad as to be punished by God," Daisy murmured.
Joseph and Daisy had known each other for so many years, but this was the first time that Daisy took the initiative to kiss him. The strange and exciting feeling made every cell in Joseph's body quiver and boil. At this moment, Joseph felt that no matter how much he had waited and done, it was all worth it.
Charles had returned home at this moment.
Nancy had already gotten up and prepared breakfast for the children.
Nancy did not often make breakfast for the kids. Bobby and Nadia looked at her and asked curiously, "Mommy, why did you make breakfast for us today?"
"Because your daddy's not home, and I won't let you two starve," Nancy replied sourly.
She had waited for almost the entire night last night, but Charles did not come home. He did not even bother to make a phone call and let her know that he was okay. What was he trying to do? Did he think she did not exist anymore?
At one point, Nancy even thought that what Edward said was right. Charles did not love her anymore. He had fallen in love with some other woman, so he had turned cold to her.
The more Nancy thought about it, the more annoyed she felt. Where did Charles go? Was it such an important secret that he could not let her know?
Did he drive to the club? Did that club have anything to do with Charles?
Nancy had been lost in various fancies and conjectures the whole night, and now she was in a very bad mood.
It was not until she saw the lovely faces of her children that she felt a little better.
But when she prepared breakfast, she did not expect that Charles had not come home yet.
"Mommy, is Daddy really not here?" Bobby did not believe what Nancy said, so he went to the guest room where Charles went last night. He found the bed unmade, but Charles was nowhere to be found.
It was so strange. Last night, Bobby saw his father enter the guest room, and he did not leave until his father went to bed. How could he not be there?
"Yes, he is not here," Nancy answered flatly.
"Then where is Daddy?" Nadia looked at Nancy's face carefully and asked curiously.
"Your daddy was taken away by a wolf." Nancy did not know where Charles was, so she just made something up.
"What? What do you mean Daddy was taken away by a wolf?" Nadia exclaimed. "Mommy, where did the big bad wolf come from?" she added in horror.
"Don't be stupid, Nadia," Bobby said, rolling his eyes. Bobby had not said that word to Nadia for a long time, mainly after he was taught a lesson by Charles and Nancy about it. As the second man in the family, Bobby realized that he could not speak that way to Nadia.
He was Nadia's big brother. He wanted to protect her.
But now, Bobby was really shocked by Nadia's childish behavior, so he blurted it out.
