Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love -
Chapter 356 Two-timing
The more Nancy heard Charles' innuendo, the angrier she became.
Charles must be referring to Edward, mustn't he?
Since when had Edward become a monster?
He was part of her family, okay?
"Charles, who are you talking about?" Nancy inquired in a loud voice, unable to bear it anymore.
"Same here, I also want to know who you are talking about," countered Charles.
"Well, I see you are in such a hurry to defend that woman. It seems that your relationship has indeed developed very fast!" Nancy sneered jealously.
"Nancy, what do you mean? Which woman are you referring to?" Charles didn't understand at all what she was ranting at.
What was more, he had not expected that Nancy would have misunderstood him!
"It turns out that you are also good at playing dumb yourself. How dare you ask me which woman? If you don't know, then I don't know either!" Nancy retorted angrily, and then went upstairs in a huff. Charles was confused. "Nancy, what do you mean? Have you gone crazy?"
"You are the one who is crazy!" Nancy countered, unwilling to give in at all costs. She had been wronged too many times these past few days. The wedding arranged by Charles had disappeared by now. And the reason, of course, could only be related to that other woman.
She was just waiting for him to break up with her, but now he was playing dumb in front of her. What game was he playing? Was he two-timing her?
In spite of everything, Charles's love and affection for her had now been transferred to another woman!
"Nancy!" Charles shouted; he was on the verge of explosion.
His voice was mixed with anger, impatience and disappointment all at once!
Nancy briefly threw a cutting glance at him, and then turned around and went upstairs in a hurry.
Charles naturally followed her upstairs.
Seeing that their Daddy and Mommy were about to have a huge quarrel, the two kids grabbed one of Charles' arms each to stop him.
"Daddy, we are now hungry!" Bobby whispered to calm him down.
"Yes, Daddy. We are both starving," Nadia echoed in agreement.
Charles closed his eyes to keep his emotion in check and gave in. "Okay, I'll cook dinner for you."
He went to the kitchen and opened the fridge to check what to cook. Inside, he found that there were all kinds of meat, fish and vegetables.
"Bobby, did Uncle Edward buy all of these?" Charles irately asked.
"Yes, he did. Uncle Edward said yesterday that he would prepare and cook food for us because you will be coming back soon." Bobby's childish voice could be heard from the living room.
Charles sneered scornfully and thought to himself, 'Edward is really very considerate!'
The codfish and meatballs he stocked in the refrigerator were all Nancy's favorite.
It only clearly manifested how important Nancy was in his heart!
Setting aside his annoyance, Charles took out his phone and began to search some recipe.
An hour later, he was able to cook a sumptuous dinner.
"Nadia, go ask your Mommy to come downstairs and have dinner." Charles knew that at the moment, Nancy hated him very much. Thus, it would be better for the children to ask her to go downstairs for dinner. "Okay, Daddy, I'll go get her now!" Nadia replied and hurriedly ran upstairs.
Nancy hadn't been sleeping well in the past few days. Her whole body felt sore and weak. In the comfort of the bedroom, she really fell asleep.
"Mommy, dinner is ready. Let's eat," Nadia urged her as she knocked on the door.
"Nadia, Mommy is really very tired. I just want to rest and sleep. I'm not hungry at all. Can you go to eat on your own and let mommy sleep in peace?" murmured Nancy, still in a daze.
"Okay, Mommy." Going down the stairs, Nadia was mumbling to herself to remember what her mother said, "Mommy said she was still too tired and wouldn't eat now."
Upon reaching the dining room, she announced, "Daddy, Mommy said she was too tired to eat and wanted to continue sleeping."
"What? Even if she just wants to sleep, she still needs to have dinner first!" Charles thought Nancy was still
angry with him and didn't want to come down because she was sulking. "Children, you eat first. I'll go upstairs to see your Mommy."
"Okay, Daddy," Nadia replied and obediently sat on the dining chair.
"Daddy, you must be gentle in coaxing Mommy," Bobby advised Charles earnestly.
Charles was at a loss for words. He raised his hand and affectionately rubbed Bobby's head. "Bobby, how could you know so much at such a young age?"
Bobby chuckled flippantly. "Daddy, I'm also a boy, and there is a little girl I like. I'm very good to her. As long as I treat her well, she will only play with me and won't play with any other boys. I'm very happy with that. So if Daddy wants Mommy to not be angry, you must be very good to Mommy and treat her well!"
With an knowing smile, Charles said, "Bobby, it turns out that you already have some experience. But I think you are right. You have a point and I will listen to you!"
"Daddy, come on, give it your best shot!" encouraged Bobby further.
Charles went upstairs. He thought that he was not born to please women, but Bobby was already good at it. Even at such a young age, he already knew how to please and butter up girls.
Was this what people meant when they said, the son outshined the father?
When Charles reached the second floor, he opened the door to the bedroom. Indeed, Nancy was sleeping soundly while hugging a pillow.
Her delicate and beautiful face was nestled comfortably in the pillow, but her eyebrows were slightly furrowed in sadness.
Could she be unhappy?
How could that be? He was the one who was unhappy, okay?
Somehow, Charles felt a little annoyed by the thought.
He walked over and sat down on the edge of the bed. He tenderly brushed away Nancy's messy hair and tried to wake her in with a soft voice. "Nancy, it's time to wake up and let's all have dinner."
"I don't want to eat. I'm too tired!" murmured Nancy grumpily.
She was indeed very tired, but the tiredness she felt was not the kind she felt at work.
It was an indescribable tiredness in her heart! No matter how much she had rested, she still felt tired.
Charles wanted to turn around and leave her sleeping, but he didn't have the heart to do so.
"Is the dinner I cooked not as good as Edward's?" Charles was bordering in a fit of pique.
"Charles, you are right. The food you cooked isn't comparable to Edward's because it's not as good. So, can you go and leave me to sleep now?" Nancy lifted the quilt and covered her head. She really didn't have the energy to deal with Charles' irrational nagging at the moment.
Charles fiercely yanked the quilt and directly lifted Nancy off the bed. He roared indignantly, "You have no choice but to eat what I cooked even if it's not delicious!
"Charles, can you be more reasonable, please? Since you don't love me anyway, why don't you just let me go? I don't want to eat the food you cooked. Don't force me. Isn't there a woman waiting for you to eat the food you cooked? Go and find her instead. Why do you keep on pestering me?" Nancy screamed in annoyance.
"Tell me! Which woman are you referring to?" Charles inquired, his patience slowly running out.
With a snort of anger, Nancy retorted, "You are really so good at playing dumb. I don't know who that woman is, but you must know who she is, right? Weren't you two very intimate together in MX Coffee Shop? Why haven't you been mentioning our marriage in front of me now? Are you intending to marry that woman instead? It's fine with me. You know I'm broad-minded. Besides, I have never loved you anyway. Even if we break up, I won't be sad! Not even a bit!"
As Nancy ranted, her tears fell and she began to sob.
Upon hearing what she said, Charles was so angry that the veins on his forehead throbbed. It turned out that Nancy had misunderstood him and Abby.
"Did you see us together?" he probed inquiringly.
Nancy sniffed. "Yes, I saw you two! If I didn't see you with my very own eyes, how long were you planning to hide it from me? Charles, Doris once said you are just a playboy, but I didn't believe what she said then. Now I can see clearly that you are indeed a hypocrite, a complete scum of the earth..."
