Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love -
Chapter 348 Burning
Nancy didn't want to talk to Charles anyway.
She picked up the hair dryer and wanted to dry her hair before going to bed.
Charles just sipped his wine casually.
He looked at her calmly. She flipped her long hair and slowly moved across her hair, drying it.
Her hair was a little messy after blow-drying. Her face was a little red and it could be because she just took a shower but it was probably because she was uncomfortable with Charles staring at her. She eventually turned off the hairdryer.
She turned around nonchalantly and purposely ignored him.
Then Nancy walked over and lay down on the sofa. She turned over and squinted her eyes. She waited and listened keenly to see what Charles did.
She heard Charles set his glass down and then the sound of approaching footsteps.
Hearing this, Nancy gasped. Her heart pounded. She didn't know what to do.
What was Charles going to do?
In all honesty, Charles didn't know either.
He just knew that his heart was beating faster and faster, the more he looked at Nancy.
His mind was flooded with a hellish image. The same room, the beautiful figure of Nancy, but he wasn't with her. It was Edward!
He felt a searing pain in his heart.
He felt like he was being stabbed!
He hated Edward. He couldn't stand this man anymore!
He ground his teeth, walked to Nancy and peremptorily lifted her up.
"Don't touch me!" Nancy roared fiercely.
"If I can't touch you, how am I going to take off your clothes?" Charles suddenly tore her clothes.
Charles didn't believe Nancy had any right to be angry. After all he was the one who was wronged in his eyes.
It was all her fault!
The sound of her clothes ripping, echoed through the room.
"Charles, what's wrong with you?" Nancy began to cry uncontrollably.
She was distraught! She had to just helplessly sit her with this beast of a man. When he mentioned that he would bring her and the kids back to the old mansion, she really had a fantasy of Charles protecting her. She had hoped that he'd stand up for her and keep her safe from Angelina.
She imagined that in his true domineering manner, he'd stand up for her and say, "I will never marry anyone except for Nancy!"
She really wanted him to be her knight in shining armor.
She imagined that she would finally say, "Charles, I love you!"
However this was indeed just a fantasy.
It was nowhere near reality!
Charles seemed like a man possessed. She couldn't understand what came over him.
Was this all so Angelina could humiliate her?
It seemed like he didn't love her at all, did he?
His love for her was just a fantasy, wasn't it?
The more Nancy thought about it, the sadder she became. She pushed him away and asked, "Charles, what are you going to do to me?"
"I asked you to go to bed. That's all. They wanted me to take care of you so that's what I'm doing. What else can I do?" Charles didn't want to lose control, but he didn't know what was going on anymore. Thinking about Nancy and Edward together left him feeling nothing but rage.
Jealousy drove him crazy. This was even more extreme than when Nancy and Ethan were together!
"Okay, as long as you keep your distance, I'll sleep on the bed!" Nancy then rolled up the quilt and lay down on one side of the bed.
Charles didn't say anything. He gritted his teeth and snorted, and then slumped down on the other side.
The room sat in an eerie silence with only the sound of their breathing.
Nancy tried to talk to Charles but he gave her the cold shoulder. She tried everything to warm him up.
Since he was being so stubborn, she didn't see the point in trying anymore.
'Charles, you are being ridiculous! You are insane...' Nancy cursed him over and over again in her mind.
She tossed and turned in bed the whole night.
Charles just silently lay there.
Nancy wondered why this guy lay like a corpse!
She didn't know when, but she eventually fell asleep.
When she woke up the next day, she found that Charles had already left.
Nancy had thought he had just gone to do his morning exercise, so she took a shower lazily and changed her clothes.
"Good morning, Mommy," Nadia greeted politely.
"Where is your daddy?" asked Nancy in a low voice.
"Daddy said he had a meeting today. I guess he went to work," Nadia replied obediently.
Huh? Charles went to work?
Did he think it was okay to just leave them alone here? Nancy bit her tongue but she so desperately felt like screaming.
"Mommy, are you angry?" Nadia asked hesitantly.
"No, no, No. Mommy is not angry at all. I just didn't know that Daddy had work. Your dad works hard, you all know that, right?" said Nancy with a smile.
"Of course, Mommy. Can we go have breakfast?" Nadia said, holding Nancy's hand.
"I have to go to work. You need to behave for me, okay? Uncle Hiram is going to take you to kindergarten. Do you hear me?" Nancy said, straightening up Nadia's clothes.
Her head was all over the place. She just wanted to leave this place.
'Okay, Mommy," Nadia nodded.
Sitting in the living room, Angelina was reading the morning newspaper through her reading glasses. When she heard Nancy come down, she raised her head with contempt, her eyes full of judgment. "Nancy, what did you do to Charles? He didn't even have breakfast this morning before he left!"
Nancy slowed down and stepped forward hesitantly. "That had nothing to do with me. Maybe he's not hungry."
Angelina sighed, "Well, it seems that people who don't have a mother to discipline them don't know how to behave!"
Angelina then slammed the newspaper on the tea table.
Nancy trembled slightly.
She always knew that Angelina didn't like her family.
Angelina could mock her, but mocking her mother was out of line.
Her mother was not dead; she was just sick!
Mothers were supposed to be caring. How was Angelina so cruel!
Nancy clenched her fists.
"Please stop getting so agitated. I know you don't like me and that you are afraid I will marry Charles. I guess you're overthinking. Judging from the current situation, I'm not sure that he and I can get married anyway!" Nancy was fuming. She wasn't about to be humiliated by Angelina. She had to fight back.
Angelina wasn't expecting Nancy to fight back. "Your grandfather often says that people should know their self-worth. Fortunately, you do!" "Of course I do. Some people forget that just because they have some power!" shouted Nancy arrogantly.
"What do you mean? Stop beating around the bush. Say what you mean!" Angelina shouted at Nancy, pointing her finger at her.
