Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 212

After walking Gemma out, Adam dialed Black Dragon. He told him to investigate Katie's mother's family and come up with a headcount so that he could prepare gifts for every single person. Black Dragon acknowledged.

Before long, Black Dragon called to report. "I have intel. The Williamses used to be a middle-class elite in Earlston. The head of the family, Gemma's father, handed over the reins to his eldest son when he retired. The new leader is Aaron Williams. Aaron is an average leader, so the family has been going downhill ever since he took over. It's just a matter of time before they get kicked out of high society. The senior Mr. Williams had five children-three sons and two daughters." "Are they located in Earlston?" Adam automatically asked.

Black Dragon instantly caught his drift and replied, "Got it. Paul and I will take a trip to Earlston then."

Adam knew he did not have to do this, but since the Williamses were weak and getting weaker, Adam did not mind giving them a hand. It could also help in changing the family's opinion of Gemma. After all, their last leader was Katie's grandfather. After exchanging a few words with Black Dragon, Adam hung up the phone and picked Annie up in his car.

The moment Annie heard they were going to visit her great grandparents, she was delighted. She asked quizzically, "Dad, I know Mom's father is my grandfather, but how should I greet Mom's grandfather?" Adam smiled and replied, "He's your great-grandfather."

"Gray-Greg-great...grand? Great-grandfather! Okay. Got it."

They went to the office to pick Katie up before going for dinner.

As Katie played with Annie, she said, "Robert is all good now."

Adam nodded but could not help teasing her, "You are now a big shot in town. How does it feel?"

Katie rolled her eyes at her husband and said, "Well, I don't care about power. I just want everyone to get along well and get rich together."

"Are you upset that I captured Austin without telling you?" Adam asked as he smiled.

Katie laughed coolly and asked rhetorically, "Now that you mention it, how did you know he was on the run? Were you already aware of Leroy's plans?"

"Plants? Well, I think eating vegetarian tonight is a great idea." Adam awkwardly changed the subject and regretted ever bringing it up.

Annie interrupted. "No way! I want meat."

Katie frowned and said, "You shouldn't interrupt. Isn't your term break around the corner? When's your exam?"

Annie promptly shrank her head and said softly, "Mom, I'm sorry. We don't have to eat meat if you're against it."

Adam burst out laughing in the car.

Katie was also tickled by Annie's acting, so she was unable to keep up her stern expression.

Meanwhile, at Earlston that very night.

Black Dragon and Paul had just arrived at a gym.

The gym took up an entire building, and rows of luxury cars were parked in front of it. All the lights in the building were on, and they could hear the sounds of people working out inside even through the windows.

Black Dragon parked the car before retrieving the wheelchair from the trunk. After Paul got into the wheelchair with some effort, a Black Snake Brigade soldier alighted from the car and pushed the wheelchair into the gym. When they got to the entrance, three security guards tried to stop them.

"Purpose of visit?" one of them demanded coldly.

"I'm Paul Booker from Lisle. Please tell your boss we are here to see him," Paul said.

The security guard paused for a brief moment, then frowned and said, "What Paul Booker? Do you think you can just demand to see him? Bugger off already."

Paul narrowed his eyes and eyed them threateningly. Since he was a mob boss, he possessed an intimidating aura. "I suggest you tell Gabriel about us and check if he is willing to meet. Trust me, if you don't, you're going to live to regret it." The security guards were terrified. They considered for a couple of seconds before asking Paul to wait.

A security guard then went inside the security booth to make a call.

Before long, he came out and looked at Paul curiously as he said, "The Boss... will see you now. He's on the third floor."

Paul said nothing and simply entered the gym with Black Dragon.

When they got to the third floor, they could hear the sound of people working out in the gym, its range of equipment on full display.

"Are you Mr. Booker? This way, please," a muscular man wearing a black singlet walked over and invited them in.

Paul nodded in response.

Shortly after, they were shown to some bench press equipment where a man in his forties wearing a singlet and shorts could be seen pushing the weights upward and working out. With every push, his muscles and veins bulged. Black Dragon glanced at the weights on the bars-200 kilograms. He could not help frowning. He sighed and thought to himself, This weight is considered remarkable even among athletes. Is he really the local mob boss? "Are you Mr. Booker?" the man said. "Hang on, just four more reps to complete my set."

The man huffed rhythmically as he pushed the weights four more times. When he was done, he sat up straight with his face covered in sweat.

He then proceeded to take a towel and wipe his forehead after which he turned to the quartet staring at him and asked, "Which one of you is Mr. Booker?"

"Mr. Sanchez, I'm Paul Booker. Nice to meet you," Paul reached his hand out and said. "I see you're a workout fanatic. I've heard much about you."

Gabriel laughed a couple of times before he reached his hand and shook hands with Paul. "We meet at last. What are you doing in a wheelchair? I was hoping we could exchange a few moves."

Paul shook his head and replied, "I'll pass. I'm here to see you about business. Is there somewhere we can speak in private?"

Gabriel smiled as he nodded. He stood and said, "Why don't we talk in my office?"

Gabriel was very tall. The moment he stood up, he gave off a threatening aura. Also, his muscles looked as hard as steel.

Black Dragon could not help frowning. Gabriel seemed like the sort of man with a mind of his own. He reckoned they might not get what they wanted today.

They followed Gabriel to his office, and he sat down on the couch. He took a bottle of water and glugged it down. He then asked, "Mr. Booker, why don't you tell me what you're doing here?"

"I'm here to convince you to stop working for Enrico," Paul said candidly.

Gabriel's hand froze as he was mid-glug, and he nearly choked from the water. He coughed a couple of times before looking at Paul, his eyes narrowed. He then said in disbelief, "What did you just say? I must have misheard." "Mr. Sanchez, I'm here to convince you to stop working for Enrico," Paul repeated himself with a serious look on his face.

Gabriel put down the bottle and scoffed, "Do you have a death wish? I certainly don't, so don't drag me into your personal conflict. If that is all you have for me, please leave!"

Paul shook his head and said, "Mr. Sanchez, this... advice is offered out of goodwill. I know it may seem impertinent, but the truth is, I'm just here to make an introduction. There is someone above me who would like to speak to you." Black Dragon stepped forward and retrieved his ID as he said, "This is my ID. Take a good, hard look before you make any decision."

The moment Gabriel took the ID and looked at it, his eyes lit up. He could not help feeling excited. Then, Gabriel Sanchez, local boss of Earlston, did something utterly unexpected.
