Return Of The Prodigy -
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 179
The villa of the Moodys was brightly lit at this time. Several people sat in the living room, with Dray Moody seated at the head of the table. "Was there any news from Jeremy?" asked someone.
"I also want to know. This is an incredible opportunity for our family. We only need to find that survivor of the Drake family, and we can befriend the Banks!"
"The Banks are an old family with lots of connections and influence. Moreover, our two families complement each other perfectly. The Banks give us a market, and we provide them with raw materials. Our business is definitely going to bloom."
Dray Moody smiled, satisfied. "It's all thanks to Jeremy's teacher if we have this opportunity. Mr. Kerr, thank you for giving us a hand."
The other family members followed suit and praised, "Yeah, we really have to thank Mr. Kerr for his help! Moreover, I was greatly impressed by his fighting skills. I bet he's black belt already!"
"Mr. Kerr is so good that even the Banks found it worth it to hire him. This speaks volumes of his skill."
"Hahaha." Hearing everyone's praises, a burly man in his fifties laughed heartily.
The man in question was Stephen Kerr, Jeremy Moody's teacher and a guest of the Moodys. It was thanks to him that the Moodys were able to get in touch with the Banks and get this opportunity. It was also he who brought Ray and Sandra Hernandez to Jeremy. "You flatter me. I also hope Moodys will seize this opportunity and succeed. You've been good to me this past year, and we're like a big family by now," said Stephen with a smile. "Haha, that's right. We're like a big family," Dray echoed his words.
The other family members followed with similar remarks.
At this moment, someone said, "Can we call Jeremy and ask him how things are going?"
"Yeah, let's call him. Perhaps he already found that guy he's looking for. With those two as bait, that survivor of the Drake family is bound to make an appearance if he's around." Dray nodded. "Okay, I'll give him a call." He grabbed his phone and dialed Jeremy's number.
Then, the sound of a familiar ringtone came from just outside the villa.
Dray was dumbfounded. "That's Jeremy's phone. Is he back already?"
"Let's take a look! Why didn't he notify us that he was coming back?"
"Hehe, I'm sure he wanted to give us a surprise."
"That kid sure knows how to surprise us!"
Everybody stood up and headed outside. However, what they saw in the next moment left them speechless.
Two men stood in the courtyard, and at their feet were lying the guards they had hired. One of the men held a phone in his hand, which was still ringing.
The Moodys were stunned.
"Who are you? How dare you barge into our property!" roared someone.
Black Dragon and Adam walked up to the group slowly.
"Are you Jeremy Moody's family members?" Adam asked coldly. "Were you the ones who told him to take Ray and Sandra Hernandez to Lisle and look for the survivor of the Drake family?" Dray frowned. He asked with a solemn expression, "Who are you? Where is Jeremy, and why do you have his phone?"
Adam swept a gaze across the Moodys, a murderous look in his eyes. "Answer my question."
The Moodys were enraged and cursed at him, "Who the hell do you think you are? Do you even know who we are?"
"This guy seems tired of living!"
"Answer my question. You won't get another opportunity," Adam repeated with a deadpan face.
"Let's beat this bastard to death!" some of the Moodys shouted.
"They really don't understand the situation they're in. Mr. Kerr, please take care of them. I want to see if they're still this arrogant after you break their limbs!"
Stephen stepped forward and said coldly, "Boy, you better mind your language. Now, spill the beans and tell me what you did to my disciple."
Adam frowned. "Was Jeremy your disciple?"
Stephen said proudly, "That's right. Seeing that you took down those guards, you must have learned some martial arts, but you can hardly compare to me. If you don't want to die, you should do as you're told. "Speak, where is Jeremy? Did you also capture those two useless fellows that were with him? This matter isn't something you should have meddled in. Now, hand over my disciple!"
Adam's expression turned cold at his remarks. "So you do know Ray and Sandra. None of you is innocent. You all deserve to die.
"Black Dragon, deal with them!"
Black Dragon sprinted forward, kicking up a cloud of dust behind him.
"Boy, you'll regret it!" bellowed Stephen. He clenched his fists and did not try to dodge, opting to meet Black Dragon's attack head-on.
Some of the Moodys sneered, "That guy is crazy for trying to pick a fight with Mr. Kerr!"
"Mr. Kerr spent countless years training his body. His fists are as hard as a rock!" Boom!
The sound of the impact was deafening and echoed throughout the whole area.
In the next moment, the smile on their faces froze, replaced with shock.
From their first clash, it was evident that Stephen was much weaker. Seeing that he had the advantage, Black Dragon followed with another strike. He rushed up to Stephen and kicked him in the stomach. Stephen was sent reeling back, and blood spurted out from his mouth.
Black Dragon attacked relentlessly, and Stephen had no way of fighting back. Finally, he crashed against a wall. Both of his arms were broken, and he no longer had the strength to move.
The Moodys stood rooted to the spot, quaking with fear.
Adam's cold voice snapped them out of their trance.
"Ray Hernandez's funeral is tomorrow. I want all of you there, on your knees before his grave. If I don't see you there tomorrow, every single one of you will die."
Then, Adam turned around and walked away.
"Who are you?" Dray frowned and asked.
Adam stopped in his tracks and replied, "My surname is Drake."
The Moodys were dumbfounded. They looked at Adam in disbelief.
"Ar-Are you that survivor of the Drake family?!" stammered someone.
Their shock was hard to hide. Only after a long time did they manage to recover, but Adam was already gone by then.
"What was his surname again?"
"He said it was Drake!"
"Is he really the last surviving member of that family?"
"Dammit! If he has Jeremy's phone, Jeremy must have already..."
Their expressions changed again and again.
Dray's frown deepened as he listened to his relatives.
"What do we do? Do we head to that funeral tomorrow?" asked someone.
"Well, although this was unexpected, we did manage to find the last surviving member of the Drakes. Perhaps this isn't a bad thing."
"What do you mean? Even if we did find him, we don't have the strength to capture him. Mr. Kerr couldn't even defeat his subordinate, and none in our family can match Mr. Kerr." The Moodys discussed animatedly.
"That's enough!" Dray bellowed, both afraid and angry. "Check on Stephen and notify the Banks."
As if they had found a straw to grasp at, the others echoed, "Yes, we should contact the Banks!"
"As long as the Banks get involved, that guy will die no matter how strong he is!"
"Quick, let's contact them!"
