Return of the Prodigy Chapter 176

Before long, the police captain received an order from his superior. He wasted no time and promptly waved his hand. They uncuffed Priscilla before turning to leave. Priscilla looked at Adam coldly and said, "I will find proof."

Before Adam could respond, she turned and went upstairs.

Adam shook his head as she left.

Meanwhile, Fannie blinked profoundly and said, "I will find proof as well."

Adam glared at her before going into the room to see Ray.

Fannie smiled as she stood up and left.

Owen was at a loss. "Hey! Why is everyone leaving? What am I supposed to do with this guy?"

"Someone will come and take him away." Adam's voice came from inside the room.

Owen said huffily, "How could you do this to me? Do I look like a slave to you?"

After leaving the martial arts center, Fannie went to a deserted corner and took out her phone to make a call. She said softly, "I think it's him. It's probably him." Fannie did not hear any response on the phone. A few minutes later, someone hung up the phone without saying a word.

Fannie contemplated for a couple of seconds as she frowned. In the end, she simply sighed.

Meanwhile, inside the room.

Arianna continued treating Ray and Sandra.

Adam stepped forward and asked, "How are they doing?"

Arianna frowned as she shook her head.

Adam looked concerned and promptly stopped talking.

Thirty minutes later, Arianna walked out of the room. She said solemnly, "They are very weak, so they were probably captured for a very long time. I..."

"Just give it to me straight," Adam said with concern.

Arianna lowered her head and said softly, "I don't know how to save him. The old man is very weak, and his organs are not doing well. I doubt he will survive for long... it could be just a matter of days before..." Adam's heart sank, he was absolutely miserable. He had finally found someone from the Drake family, but Ray was dying and there was no saving him.

Dejected, he closed his eyes for a few seconds before continuing, "What about a girl?"

Arianna instantly nodded and said, "She's doing fine. Even though she is weak, she will recover in time."

Adam sighed and said, "Thank you for your help. People from the Black Snake Brigade will be here to take them away. Can you write prescriptions for them?"

Arianna hastily raised her head and asked in astonishment, "Why are you taking them away? Don't you want me to treat them?"

"I think the old man probably prefers to go home!" Adam said solemnly.

Arianna parted her lips and did not know what to say.

Adam turned to leave.

Arianna suddenly asked softly, "You're Adam Drake, right?"

Adam was about to take a step but froze briefly. He said nothing and simply walked away.

Arianna watched the departing figure with teary eyes.

Black Dragon brought Ray and Sandra along with Eugene to a villa owned by Black Snake Brigade. Adam was waiting there. He had many questions and really wanted to talk to Ray. Adam greeted the old man the moment he saw him.

Ray trembled as he held Adam's hands. He said emotionally, "Adam, I'm so glad you are still alive. I can't believe we were able to reunite before I die."

Adam shook his head sadly and asked, "Ray, I thought you went back to your hometown. How did you end up captured?"

A solemn look emerged in Ray's eyes the moment Adam brought this up. He sighed deeply and explained, "When I found out the family was slaughtered six years ago, I refused to believe it. I went back to the residence, but I couldn't find any survivors, so I visited every single friend and family I knew hoping to find you. I kept searching for a year to no avail, so I finally gave up and went back to my hometown. A month later, someone came knocking on my door asking about you. I told them I didn't know where you were, but they insisted on taking me away. My wife and son refused to let them take me, so they got killed right before my eyes. Sandra and I are the only survivors in my family."

Ray's eyes turned red just thinking about their violent deaths, and he could not help trembling.

Adam was even more infuriated. He felt absolutely murderous.

How could they do it? How could they do it to an old man and his family?

"Who was the culprit? Who did this to you?"

Ray shook his head and said, "I don't know either. A team of expert martial artists was dispatched to my home, but the mastermind did not show his face. After we were taken away, we became captives and were treated no better than dogs. I just knew they wanted to use us as bait. Some time back, they suddenly handed us to Eugene and his friends and sent them to Lisle. Only then did I hear about you." Adam gritted his teeth as he said, "Ray, you have my word. I don't care who did this to you. I'm going to kill them!"

Ray waved his hand hurriedly and said, "Adam, don't act rashly. You are not strong enough to go against them. You are lucky to be alive. I'm getting on in years, I can die without regret now that we have reunited. However, Sandra is..."

Adam knew of Ray's concerns. He quickly said, "Don't worry. I will treat her like my little sister from now on. I will take care of her for the rest of my life. You have my word."

Ray wanted to get up and kneel as he said gratefully, "Thank you, Adam."

Adam reached his hand out to stop Ray. He shook his head and said, "Ray, I am so sorry. You were implicated because of us."

Ray shook his head, sighed, and said, "Adam, don't ever say that. We owe your grandfather our lives. I might not be a very smart man, but I will always be grateful."

Adam felt a little sad. Ray was going to die, but he did not know what to say to him about his condition.

Ray seemed to know he was dying, so he continued talking as though they were his last words. "Adam, I'm not sure how much longer I have to live, so I have a few things to tell you. Even though I was unable to locate you during my search, I did manage to find a lot of old friends. I have taken down their contact numbers. A lot of them are hoping you will return one day. I have told Sandra to memorize their names and numbers. If ever you want to rebuild the family, you will need their help. I don't know whether this is the right choice..."

Tears trickled down Adam's face uncontrollably. The old man was dying, but he was still worrying about Adam instead. "Ray, I swear I will bring glory to your family!"

Ray wiped the tears from his face. He smiled as he shook his head and suddenly said, "I kind of miss your grandfather."

Ray gradually closed his eyes with a smile on his face!

Adam trembled like an injured animal as he held onto Ray's hands tightly and refused to let go!

Moments later, Adam got up and walked out with an intimidating look in his eyes. "Where is Eugene? I want to know who killed Ray and his family! Also, has Sandra regained consciousness yet? Tell her Ray has passed. Tell her she has to contact our friends to meet up in Lisle. We're going to rebuild the family!"
