Rejected, but not Broken
Chapter 97

Gabi’s POV

We are heading down to the cells, and I am anxious as I haven’t had to kill anyone yet. I also don’t want to have to do it, as I am very pregnant, and don’t want to take the chance of Taylor getting a good blow on my stomach and hurting the babies.

Tanner is immediately behind me with his hand on my shoulder as we go down the stairs. Heath and Von, Alpha Wyatt and Luna Everly, The werewolf council members, Jeremiah Folkes and Alaric Rhodes, Stone, and Tanner’s parents, Dawson and Aria, are at the back of the group.

Tanner said I would not kill her, that he would do it, as we needed to make sure it got done. Everyone slowed down as we approached, and she saw me and Tanner hand in hand at first.

The furious scream that escaped her throat was loud and angry. She immediately went to the bars and shook them as she started screaming, “How is it possible you are alive?”

How are you here? Goddess, I hate you so much, Gabi. Alex cannot do anything right, let me guess, he liked you and let you go? He is so f*****g soft. I knew he was interested in you, I thought he was smart enough to keep you there with him”.

“He did want to keep her there with him, Taylor. In fact, he wanted to use Gabi to have his own children. He just ended up being killed before he could put his plan into action, Taylor”, Tanner told her.

Luna Everly gasped at what Tanner said, and looked at me and I nodded to her, that he had told the truth. “What? Are you lying to me? Dead? Seriously?”

Taylor gasps out, and I think she is clueing in as to why we are here. The rest of the group files in and is standing in front of her cell. “I am glad that the spell for you to be telling the truth is still working, as I have a few more questions to ask you, Taylor” Luna Everly said to her.

“I have already answered enough of your questions. I am sick of it. If you two were smarter, 1 couldn’t have gotten away with half of what I did. You two were so f*****g focused on trying to train Stone, and what happened to Camila there, I mean “Gabi”, that I got ignored.

Then I cried because I was sad, and you bought me stuff. I learned at 3 years old that you two would give me stuff when I cried. By the time was ten, I was a master at it.

You two even fell for it on the stairs when Gabi was leaving. You were folding like a house of cards for what she was saying. I couldn’t have that, so I went down and then I started crying, but I was giving those two a smirk in between crying. I just didn’t realize I was being recorded, or ! would have gotten away with it.

You two have lived with the guilt of the nanny taking her for over 16 years. You also put time into Stone, as he needed to be trained, and you were proud of your “good kid” with good grades that never caused problems. You two think you are so smart because you run a pack, but I have run this pack for a while now. I put ideas into your head, planted seeds, and watered them.

I even had you on the outs with Tanner in your office. You both thought he had slept with me, but he was swearing to you both that he hadn’t. I wish you hadn’t listened to that other Alpha.

You two saw what you wanted to see in me and placed a blind eye on everything else I was doing. You two are really, so stupid, I mean you two can’t see what was right in front of you”, Taylor yelled at her parents.

“Well, what else have your stupid parents “missed” about you, Taylor? How about we clear everything up now, shall we? We did notice things, but you are actually a very convincing liar, I must say. No, that wasn’t a compliment, Taylor. We saw it, but we didn’t want to face it. We had already lost our oldest child and you had everything handed to you on a silver platter. That is true. We hurt from losing our child for a long time.

You can’t begin to understand how painful that is. Worrying about them. Where are they? Who has them? Are they being taken care of? Abused? Starved? The world as you know it ceases to exist, and you are living in a world that you don’t want to be in anymore because some of the beautiful colors that you once had are now gone.

There is only grey left behind in its place. But you have to keep moving forward, putting one foot in front of another.

Expected to continue to do your job when you are missing part of your heart. Taylor, you never loved anyone besides yourself for the last 10 years. I saw it, but I just couldn’t deal with it, didn’t want to deal with it, because then I would have lost a second daughter. I couldn’t take the pain of it, so l pushed it back, and played like everything was OK, even when it wasn’t. So, is there anything else that you wanted to say? To me? Your father? Your brother?

Because I think that you have said more than enough to your sister.” Luna Everly asked Taylor. I have to admire her restraint, as I am pissed off for her. I know that how Taylor is acting in front of all of us and the werewolf council, is an embarrassment to the whole family.

Luna Everly asked the warrior to unlock the cell and she entered and sat down on the bench against the wall.

“Yes, I don’t care. I don’t care about you, or dad, or Stone, and I especially don’t care about that stupid bh over there. She ruined my birthday party by coming here. I wish that whoever took her had just ended up killing her, so she didn’t show up here and get you and dad upset.

She stole my limelight and took my parent’s attention away from me. I wish I hadn’t invited Tanner to my birthday party now, and I had just waited until I was 18 to show you and dad the pictures so you and dad could make Tanner marry me.

That is what I wanted. I wanted Vince to stay around until I cut him loose. I wanted Alex to keep Gabi away from you and dad, and Tanner. I wanted you to get me the car that I wanted at first, instead of the ugly one you got me. I wish I hadn’t had to wreck it, just to get the one I wanted.

I wish you and dad hadn’t scared Jared away because he hasn’t touched me since I got Alpha Commanded on my birthday”. Taylor yelled out. There was an audible gasp from both Luna Everly and Alpha Wyatt. It also told everyone present that they were not aware of Taylor sleeping with their Beta. That was going to be a problem for Jared.

The Alpha needs to trust the Beta and he can’t now. Jared will be out of a job and a pack now. “Taylor, did you just say that you have been sleeping with my Beta,” Alpha Wyatt asked Taylor slowly. “Yes, for about 8 months, then you had to Alpha Commanded me on my birthday, and he got scared and has avoided me ever since.

He even tried to warn Vince too, about me chasing the guys I wanted, but Vince wanted me, and he ignored what Jared told him.

I laid out by the pool that day so he could watch me out there in my smallest bikini for over an hour. He didn’t listen to one word that Jared said to him, or to the other new warriors, warning them to stay away from me.

But Vince was so handsome, he looked just like Tanner, so I could imagine it was Tanner when we were together. I get everything that I want. People need to understand that, if I want you, it is just a matter of time for me to get you.

You can’t help it, I am just that attractive, people want me. Except for Tanner, I have chased him down, again and again, and he refuses me over and over. There is something wrong with him. I would offer and tell him I know more than you think I do, in bed, and that turned him off even more. He called me a child and told me to leave him alone.

What the hell is that? I will not. I told everyone at school that I would be the Luna for the B***d Rose pack and now they laugh at me and tell me “He must have confused you with your sister, as she is the Luna of the B***d Rose pack”

“When were you getting with Tanner again Taylor? Because he didn’t get the memo,” I am sick of getting teased about it, things were going along perfectly until she showed up”, Taylor yelled out and pointed her finger at Gabi. *Taylor, you cannot think that Tanner wanted you, and then just gave you up for Gabi?

He was not interested in you at all. We could all see it and you just continued to chase him. Gabi didn’t do anything at all to you. The Moon Goddess, Selene, put them together. They had no control over it. You don’t get to call your mate because you think they are cute.

Your mate is your other half, the one created especially for you. Who you were truly meant to be with. You don’t just go around saying, “he is cute, I want him”. It isn’t like calling shotgun for the passenger seat in the car, Taylor. It is ridiculous and vain to think that you can control who loves you.

You are not the Goddess herself. Being someone’s mate is serious and shouldn’t be taken lightly. I have explained this to you numerous times, Taylor. Were you just not listening to me and your mother when we were speaking to you? Or just didn’t care to hear what we were saying to you, because it wasn’t what you wanted to hear?”

Alpha Wyatt asked Taylor. “You two know nothing. I could make Tanner love me. Vince didn’t use to love me, but after sleeping with me for months, he does now. He loved me enough to believe me when I lied to him to get him to drive so I could follow you and mom.

He believed me when I made up that story as to why I was following you two to Quincy, and why I took pictures of Gabi and Tanner for Alex. He believed me, even when he saw me smiling a weird smile, thinking about how I was going to get Alex to take Gabi. I am great in bed, and I can make Tanner love me too.

He just needs to give me a chance. I can make him love me eventually. I don’t care about the mate bond, or what Tanner wants, because I want him. I want to be the Luna of the B***d Rose pack, and that is it. I want to run the pack and get what I want, and have people be jealous of me because my mate is hot. I want people to do what I say when I say it, and I want to be taken care of, for the rest of my life.

If Gabi had just stayed out of my way and left Tanner alone, none of this would have happened to her. I warned her, and him. I told her to reject him. If she had, maybe I wouldn’t have had to sell her to Alex”, Taylor said to the group.

“Taylor, you realize that Gabi was mated to Derek first, and was rejected. If she had rejected her second chance mate, then she would not have had another mate. You don’t get unlimited mate’s honey. You only get two, if the Goddess allows it.

Most only get one mate in their life. So, you thought it was fair of you to demand that your sister give up her actual mate? So, you could play house? Take her Goddess given mate away from her? You thought that was a valid option for Gabi?”

Luna Everly asked Taylor. “She should have loved me enough as her baby sister to give me what I wanted most in life. She should have just nicely backed away and rejected Tanner. I don’t care what either of them wanted. I always get what I want, always.

I don’t care what either of them wants. I wanted Gabi to go away forever, and their babies be taken away, where neither of them could find them. I made plans and Gabi ruined them all, so I did what I needed to do to get her out of my hair forever. It wasn’t my fault that she managed to come back here after all these years.

I didn’t ask her to come back, on My birthday no less, and ruin my special day. I hated her for doing that, and then you and dad bitching and griping as apparently you two want to waste all of our time playing some stupid 20 questions game to see how many times, I lied to you. A LOT, there is your answer. I have lied to you a lot. To be honest, I will lie to you both again, as soon as this stupid fvckig potion wears off of me. I will get past this because you have doubts and questions.

I am still young, I can be reformed. Someone might have compelled me to do what I did. That is why I am still alive now, but I will tell you this.

As soon as I am free, I WILL kill Gabi myself. If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. Alex proved himself weak and he couldn’t follow simple instructions.

I can take over his business and I will be strong. I don’t need any of you to succeed in this world. I am a smart and beautiful girl, and I will be far more successful than Alex ever was”, Taylor said to us all with a big smile on her face.

“No, honey. You won’t”, Luna Everly said, and moved towards the door. She stopped and looked at Taylor and ran her right hand down her cheek and cupped it, smiling into Taylor’s face, putting her left hand on the back of Taylor’s head and rubbing her hand across her hair for a moment.

Luna Everly then slides her right hand down to Taylor’s chin and tips it up, hard, and then bends her head back and over to her shoulder, with Taylor’s ear touching her shoulder, breaking her neck.

We all stood there stunned as Taylor was gasping for air, as it didn’t immediately kill her. She was struggling to breathe as her windpipe had been broken. Luna Everly motioned for the warrior to unlock the cell and let her out. I can see tears running down her face because of having to stop the monster who used to be her baby girl.

Alpha Wyatt places his hand across her back at her waist and helps her up the stairs to leave. We were all stunned by her actions. I think she already knew what she had to do at dinner.

She could have let Alpha Wyatt do it, but Taylor let everyone know who she was, with her spewing all the hate she had inside her.

I know that had to have hurt Luna Everly’s heart to do it, but I think she knew it had to be done. The werewolf council had spoken, and Taylor had been sentenced to death for her actions. We all watch as Taylor continues to fight for breath, but with her broken windpipe, she cannot catch the breath that she is fighting so hard for.

Hearing her gasping and trying so hard, was very hard to hear and I didn’t realize that I was crying until Tanner put his arm around me and led me up the stairs.

Stone followed us up the stairwell, and I felt him take my hand to hold when we got to the landing, and I pulled him into a hug. She was a horrible person, and there was clearly something very wrong with her, but she was still our sister. I know it would affect Stone more than me.

I didn’t know her for long, and what I knew of her, I just didn’t like. But it is truly hard to watch someone gasping for breath like that. The council members, Dawson, and Heath stayed downstairs, until the end to pronounce her dead.
