Chapter 49

Gabi’s POV

I know that Tanner was being honest with me. I can tell he loves me, but it is still upsetting that I will still be battling uphill again when I go to his pack to be introduced. That Dana girl will have friends, and this would be another difficult situation to deal with.

She obviously wants Tanner very much, if she rejected her Goddess-given mate, to wait for him to decide to make her his mate.I am glad I won’t have to fight her for the Luna title, but I will still probably have to fight her at some point, as I have a sneaking suspicion he is downplaying her aggression over him.

It really makes me sad that he didn’t wait for me as I waited for him, but I am glad his mom stepped in and spoke to him about his actions.

I saw Tanner staring at me, and I could see the worry in his eyes. Yes, I am upset that he didn’t wait for me, but I love him and want to be with him, so I will allow him to mark me, and I will mark him as well. We can discuss mating later on.

I looked up at him and gave him a little smile as I am still hurt by his actions, but I still love him. I went to stand up and I felt his arms lock around me, holding me down and pulling me towards him.

“I am sorry, Gabi. Please don’t leave me. I have been waiting for you for so long. Just give me a chance to make it up to you”, Tanner tells me, and I hugged him back and leaned down to his ear, and told him, “I am not happy to hear what you have said, but I still love you very much, and I was just standing up so it will be easier for me to mark you, Tanner”.

Tanner releases me and takes his shirt off to allow me to mark him. I tell Tala to come forward and she is only too happy to mark Tanner. I feel my teeth sink into his neck, and taste his b***d in my mouth before I lovingly l!ck his wound clean with my tongue.

I felt him shudder after I pierced his skin, and I hoped that it was a good feeling for him, as I raised up and looked at my mark on his shoulder. It is a beautiful mark with scrollwork around a red rose, with my name showing on one of the front petals.

I love it, it is a very lovely design, and I am proud to have marked him. Tanner stands up and I take my shirt off and lower my bra strap for Tanner to gain access to my neck and shoulder area.

I hear a deep g***n come from his throat as he is looking down at me, with clear l**t in his eyes, and that makes me smile as he very clearly wants me as his mate. I am glad that he did stop sleeping with the others girls. He made a mistake, and he owned up to it.

He was honest with me, and I believed him when he said that he wouldn’t hurt me. Tanner sniffs my neck and takes a deep breath of my scent before his canines elongate and he breaks the skin on my shoulder to mark me.

I am glad he held me as I went weak in my knees with the feelings that hit me as he marked me. I feel his love and excitement at finding me and being able to mark me. I am amazed by the depths of his love as it comes pouring into me and I give a low m0an at becoming his, as this is a very pleasurable feeling.

I felt Tanner l!cking my shoulder clean and tending to me and as soon as he was done, I raised my head to give him a k!ss, and he already knew what I wanted. Tanner k!sses me with all the passion that he has been holding inside for the last three years.

I can feel how happy Rafe and Tala are with us acknowledging our bond, bounding around in happiness in our heads. I break the k**s, as I need to go meet with my parents and Von, in the Alpha’s office.

“I have to go meet with Alpha and Luna Wilson right now. I am so glad that we found each other and that we are marked now. When I am done, I will come and find you, OK?” I asked Tanner and he nodded and told me, “I am going to escort you to the Alpha’s office, don’t want you alone here.

I know that you can take care of yourself, but I also know that Taylor will not be playing fair. I will be waiting for you in the dining room” as that was where he was going to meet Alpha Heath and Alan for their conversation.

We head for Alpha Wilson’s office and, surprisingly, Taylor is sitting there like she was waiting for us. She gave us both a big smile and said, “I was invited to the meeting as well”. In that case, I did not feel like I needed to attend the meeting anymore and I headed on past the office, as I mindlinked Von that they could grab their bags. I will not be attending the meeting.

We are halfway down the stairs as Alpha Wyatt and Luna Everly are coming up the stairs. They see us heading past them to the first floor, and they both stop walking and turn towards us.

Luna Everly asked, “Gabi, are you forgetting our meeting?” I told Tanner to go on ahead and go meet with Heath and Alan, and I turned back to my biological parents.

“No, I was there, but so was Taylor. I do not feel compelled to stay in the same office or vicinity as her. I will give you my cell phone number and you can call me sometime, but I refuse to stay here at Crimson Shadow, with Taylor. She already told us all last night that she hates me, she continues to try to take my mate, and even threatened us again, just a little while ago after breakfast.

So no, I will not be attending your meeting. I appreciate you asking me to talk, but we really have nothing to discuss, do we? We could have talked last night, and you could have sent Taylor to her room for you to talk with her today after I left, but you made her a priority.

She is clearly more important than me, and believe me when I tell you both, that your message was received loud and clear. She lives here, and you could talk to her at any time. You clearly didn’t punish her for anything that she has done to me, or to Tanner.

You never looked for me and gave Taylor more than she could ever need, which I would love to ask you both how that would have made anything at ALL, up to ME? You just assumed I was dead, and you were apparently OK with that, so you can just go on thinking it.

Because as far as I am concerned, my parents are dead to me as well. You have two children, so go ahead and take care of them. But your daughter, Taylor, has got some serious issues.

Please tell her from me, that if she ever actually puts into play what she just threatened Tanner with just 30 minutes ago. If she does end up somehow breaking us up, with whatever plan she has. Please, tell her that when I find her, I will end her life for doing it.

Tell her to think long and hard over it, because you won’t have to try to Alpha command the truth out of her about it. We both know she won’t tell you the truth. I saw that first-hand last night.

I will hunt her down, and I WILL kill her for it. She is an immature brat who is pouting because the toy she wanted belongs to someone else, and instead of her waiting for her mate, she wants mine.

Tell her, if she wants to cross me and try to take my Goddess-given mate, she had better NEVER leave your pack again, because the last sound that she will hear with be the shot I took, to take her out” I told them both and the look of shock on their faces was enough to tell me that they are truly shocked by my threat.

“We didn’t invite Taylor to our talk. I don’t know why she would even have been there”, Luna Everly said to me and looked at her husband in confusion.

“I had mindlinked both her and Stone to give us some time to speak to Gabi at 830 and to leave us alone to do it. I guess she did not get the memo correct, or she truly cannot stop harassing her sister” Alpha Wyatt said to Luna Everly.

“I am not her sister. Please stop calling her my sister. No, she got it correct, she knew Tanner would escort me there, and cannot stop herself from messing with us both. She hates me and has done everything in her power in the last 24 hours to keep me from my mate, including lying to several people about sleeping with him. She deliberately kept us from talking.

I am sure you will excuse this behavior too, as it looks like that is all you have done for her for the last 16 years. She actually confessed to stealing keys to get into his room, undressed, took pictures, and got into bed with my mate to try to blackmail him, and completely refused to tell the truth about it.

It really doesn’t matter what you feel you need to tell me. The message was received last night where your priorities lay. It was with Taylor, and not me. And you know what, I am OK with it. I never really had you after I was taken, and I have parents now.

I was also blessed with Omega’s parents who, although they couldn’t protect me from all I went through in Red River, and trust me when I say that it was a lot, they loved me probably more than you two ever have. I can handle a great amount of pain now, and I will tell you that to make me snap, let Taylor come for me and Tanner.

I may end up being hurt by whatever it is that she has planned, especially if it is enough for her to figure that I would reject Tanner for it, but she WILL end up dead for it. I know you will warn her, and I also KNOW that she will not listen to you and do what she wants. Because that is what she does, she does what she wants.

Please tell her that I will see her again, but she will never see me coming”. I smiled at them, and I knew that they were both scared by it because the surprise on their faces let me know that I had hit the nail on the head.

They were just going to blow smoke up my a*s, and I didn’t have time for that. I only wanted the truth, and I also wanted them to warn Taylor. They need to repeatedly, because if she has something so heinous planned to make me reject Tanner, I only wish I could prolong her torment before her death.

I want them to warn her. I hope that the Goddess puts it in her heart to stop. I hope that Taylor decides to stop being a horrid b!tch and leave us alone. But, even knowing her for literally day, I know her. She is not going to stop, and I bet she even raises the stakes, but she will only have herself to blame when I end her.
