I could not help but lower my head to look at the slit. Honestly, it was not too bad. Though it was a little exaggerated, it didn't show too much!

"Aaron, you're nitpicking. This dress is normal and nothing's too exaggerated. If we keep changing, we'll be late."

"It's okay, and I can wait!" He looked at the designer and ordered, "Give her a more conservative dress. It's winter now, not summer. What's the point of such a big slit? Don't you know it's cold? Moreover, she's going as the Reid family's daughter. And what the hell is with this green color? She's a young and lively girl. Get her something brighter."

After a pause, he stared at my face for a long time and added, "Also, though she does have the looks of European celebrities, you don't have to make her look so sexy."

I couldn't help but laugh. "Mr. Reid, why don't you do it yourself, then?" How was this sexy when nothing was being exposed?

He snorted and looked at the two of them. "Basically, she has to be the most beautiful woman today, but she can't be too sexy or revealing, got it?"

The two exchanged a look and then nodded in unison.

Once they were done, Aaron was satisfied with the result and we finally arrived at the banquet venue.

The Reid family had chosen a private holiday area in the southern part of Jarold City, where it was prosperous and bustling with life.

By the time Aaron and I arrived, most of the guests were already there. Charles and a few other elders of the Reid family were welcoming people at the hotel lobby entrance.

Due to the great number of guests, some of the reporters and journalists were from self- owned companies while many bodyguards and staff stood guard by the door.

As soon as we got out of the car, Charles saw us. He smiled and waved our way. "Arianna, Aaron, this way!"

Aaron was holding onto me. Since the previous dress was replaced by a floor-length skirt, the hem of the skirt was particularly long. I also wore tall high heels, which made me move slower. So, Aaron had no choice but to walk slowly to wait for me.

Charles was in a good mood. When he saw us strolling over slowly, he trotted over and joyfully exclaimed, "My daughter is so beautiful. You really are the most eye-catching girl in the room!"

Aaron tutted and teased with a smile, "Of course, a handsome man and a beautiful woman will certainly be eye-catching."

Charles scoffed. "You brat, you're great at drawing attention to yourself."

For a moment, laughter could be heard all around.

Many guests came up to greet me when I was brought into the banquet hall. They were essentially all the prominent people in Jarold City. Most of those who made it to the banquet were politically affiliated. After all, Charles was a government official. His social circle was pretty much made up of distinguished politicians.

Some guests were also from hundred-year- old families of scholars. Having been married to Hendrix for many years, I had more or less gone to some banquets with him, but most attendees were businessmen.

Seeing that almost all the guests had arrived, a long red carpet was placed in the middle of the lobby, leading directly to the stage at the edge of the hotel.

Hendrix arrived a little late. He was handsome and imposing. One could immediately spot him in the crowd at a glance.

I pursed my lips and changed the subject. "Has the Moore family come yet?"

"Yes, they should be here," he replied, his gaze falling on Hendrix as he sized him up.

After all, Jarold City and Ucrebury were two different places, and many of their customs were not the same.
