I thought I would never see him again in my life, but I unexpectedly met him again in Asherton.

But he had changed. I didn't know what he had been through in the past few years, but I could feel that he seemed more relieved and was able to let go of a lot of things.

Seeing that I was just staring at him speechlessly, he smiled lightly. "Don't look at me like that, or I'll think you've fallen in love with me."

I was lost for words. I rolled my eyes at him and added, "But I can't let go now. If I don't take advantage of this banquet, I don't know when else I will be able to do this."

When it came to the Granger family, I would have to wait at least a year. Now that Irvin was gone, it was almost impossible for me to take advantage of the Granger Group. Since this was the case, the only chance I had to make a move was this banquet.

His gaze landed on me for a while before he nodded. "Okay, I will help you no matter what you want to do!"

Looking at him, my heart felt a sudden warmness.

I chuckled, "Thank you, Aaron!"

It seemed that even from the start, he had not asked for anything in return for helping me. If he wasn't acquainted with Charles, no matter how many bargaining chips I had, I might not be able to use them as I took action against Valerie.

He twitched his mouth and mocked in disgust, "A word of thanks won't do me any good. Give me something more practical."

I was amused. "Like treating you to dinner?"

"Just a single meal?"

"It's up to you, I can treat you as many times as you want!"

"Deal!"

We then checked out a few sets of dresses and custom-made jewelry. To be frank, I was not aware nor was I interested in clothes or jewelry, so I could only rely on the designer's opinion on choosing what to

wear.

"Your eyebags are terrible!" Aaron sighed and asked the makeup artist to put more makeup on me.

The designer took a look at me and said, "Miss Reid's features and presence are outstanding. Only her complexion is slightly off, so a little touch up would do just fine. Plus, her nose bridge is high and her eyes are big. If she has too much makeup on, she might look exotic but she'd also come off a little cold and stiff."

Aaron looked at me and curled his lips. "Alright. You guys can dress her up however you see fit, as long as you dress her up to be the prettiest."

I was tongue-tied. "You should know I'm your sister, not your partner!"

He shrugged and replied indifferently, "Think whatever you want to."

He took out his mobile phone and signaled that he was going to make a phone call. I couldn't move since I was getting my makeup done. Having sat down for a long time, I almost fell asleep.

The makeup was not very heavy, with just some pink foundation to cover up the exhaustion on my face. It made all of my features look exquisite and refined.

The designer gave me a blue split dress with golden lining, which gave me an air of elegance without losing out on charm.

As soon as Aaron finished his call, he noticed that it was getting late, so he started saying, "It starts at seven. There's not much time left, are you done..."

When he saw that I was done, he paused for a moment, then coughed. "Change your outfit!"

The designer and makeup artist were initially delighted upon seeing his reaction, but they were startled when they heard what he said.

They argued, "Miss Reid looks pretty like this. She's a classic beauty, and this dress looks great on her!"

Aaron looked at me with curled lips. "Don't you see she barely has any flesh on her waist and legs? A dress like that needs to be filled out. It doesn't suit her!"

I was confused.

Looking at Aaron, I asserted, "Since everyone's happy, let's go with this. Plus, we're running short on time. What am I supposed to change into?"

It would be too troublesome getting changed all over again!

He frowned and his gaze landed on my leg. He defended unpleasantly, "The dress is split all the way to your upper thigh. Do you think it's appropriate? It shows too much. Change it!" I was stupefied by his response.
