My Coldhearted Ex demands a Remarriage -
Chapter 33
Episode 33
Ruby’s eyes widened in alarm.
She knelt to lift the hem of Elizabeth’s pants, her hands hovering uncertainly, cautious not to cause further pain.
With determined resolve, Elizabeth brushed off Elijah’s call and continued walking as if she hadn’t heard a word.
Elijah, however, wasn’t about to let her go so effortlessly.
He clasped her wrist firmly, demanding, “What brings you here?”
Despite her attempts to yank free—pulling once, then again—Elijah’s grasp was unrelenting, more like steel clamps than hands.
Elizabeth inhaled sharply, met his gaze with a flash of irritation, and snapped, “This is a public hospital, not your private domain, Mr.
James.
What makes you think I shouldn’t be here?”
His suspicions erupted as he accused her.
“Did you come here just because I gave Sandra the lead role? Is that it?”
He didn’t wait for her to confirm, his tone already shifting as he added, “Look, Elizabeth, let’s not drag Sandra into our matters.
This is about us.”
With a derisive scoff, Elizabeth regarded him coldly, her voice dripping with contempt.
“Believe me, I have no interest in you or your darling.
It’s purely coincidental that we auditioned for the same role and ended up here at the same time.
Now, will you release my arm?”
Elijah’s grip persisted, though his voice softened slightly as he remarked, “Sandra is delicate, not suited for stress.
You don’t truly need this job, Elizabeth.
Why compete with her?”
He then suggested a compromise, attempting to sway her.
“I’ll purchase the property where your mother’s apartment is located and transfer it to you.
Isn’t that fair? You’ve always wanted to support charity projects.
Think about it—you could establish a non-profit nursing home or maybe a community park, just like your mother dreamed of.
I’ll cover all the expenses.”
