Chapter 090 Work Hard Tonight, Daddy
Chapter 090 Work Hard Tonight, Daddy
The ring of the cell phone seemed to be automatically ignored by Alaric, who seemed not to hear it at all. Instead, he expressed his dissatisfaction with Galatea's earlier distraction by biting her again as punishment. Galatea didn't dare move erratically anymore. Under his control, she became as docile as a cat.
As the kiss went on longer, her head felt more and more deprived of oxygen, and her breathing was stifled.
She clutched his shirt tightly, almost pleading for him to stop, just stop, and then...
Just as her consciousness began to waver, Alaric finally stopped.
Observing her flushed cheeks and listening to her uneven breathing, he chuckled a triumphant sound akin to that of a hunter who had successfully captured his prey.
Seeing the smile on his face and recalling his repeated forceful kisses, Galatea felt a surge of anger rise within her. She lifted her hand, intent on slapping him across the face, but her efforts were in vain.
Her movements were never as quick as his, and he easily seized her wrist in his grasp.
"Are you angry now?" Alaric looked at her, the smile still playing on his lips. "Didn't you enjoy the kiss just now?"
Alaric could clearly feel her response-a very honest physical reaction. He could tell that each kiss brought her a sense of pleasure.
"Shameless!" Galatea struggled once more, attempting to slap him, but her effort was thwarted yet again.
"Remember how you just reacted. That was your most genuine response, and I like it," he told her.
It was just like the last time when she had fallen asleep and he had carried her home; he liked how she responded then-she had been pleased, and so was Alaric.
After he finished speaking, Alaric released Galatea's wrist and stood up, taking out his cell phone. It was Caspian calling.
Alaric walked to the side to answer the call, and Harry's voice came through, sounding decidedly gloomy.
In the early days, when Harry used to deliberately provoke him, Alaric had been very attentive, meticulously preparing meals. However, lately, it seemed as though Harry didn't exist to him anymore he appeared indifferent to his son's presence.
"Dad, where have you gone off to? Aren't you coming back home tonight?" Harry asked.
Alaric glanced at the time; it was growing late. The mansion lay quite a distance from the city. Since it was the weekend and the kids had no school, coupled with the availability of guest rooms in the mansion, he mulled over his next steps. "If I don't come back tonight, will my Caspian be upset?" Alaric probed.
"Are you with Mommy?"
"Not just her, also Harry and Elisa."
What? Had Alaric met his own son? Could such a miraculous thing really happen?
"Wait... are you saying you're with Harry and Elisa? You've seen Harry?" Harry's voice wavered slightly, betraying a hint of nervousness. He hadn't been discovered, had he?
"I have, and he's the spitting image of you. I thought it was you when I first laid eyes on him."
The person he was actually referring to was Caspian. It seemed Harry hadn't been caught out, and he let out a huge, silent sigh of relief.
"I wasn't lying, was I? I was also shocked that there could be another person in the world who looks just like me. So, do you like this Harry?"
Alaric spoke truthfully. "Maybe it's because he looks just like you, I always feel a bit dazed when I see him, like he's my own son."
'Hehe... Hehehe...'
"Dad, let's not tell Mommy about how much Harry and I look alike, okay? Tell her after you guys get married."
That way, when he and Caspian secretly switched back, no one would ever know. "Okay."
"That's settled, then. You four have a good time," Harry continued, unable to resist giving some advice, "You're all staying over tonight. Dad, this is your chance, don't miss it-you know what I mean? Go for it, and I can't wait to hear the good news."
After hanging up, Harry immediately sent a message to Caspian.
Harry: [Caspian, tonight you have to make sure everything goes perfectly between the two of them. Make me proud!]
Caspian felt the pressure upon reading the message, and just then, he heard Galatea's call, "Harry, Elisa, it's getting late, we need to head down the mountain now."
Galatea saw Alaric was still on the phone, so she came over to the children's park to call for Harry and Elisa.
It was already dark, and they were still up on the mountain. By the time they got home, it would be very late.
"What? We have to go already?" Elisa said reluctantly, "I haven't had enough fun yet! This place is so great."
Caspian, tasked with a mission, quickly agreed. "Yeah, Mommy, there are still so many rides we haven't tried. Why don't we stay at the mountain lodge tonight?" Stay here?
"No, we must go home tonight, come on and put your shoes on."
"I don't want to," Elisa muttered. "Tomorrow is the weekend. We don't have school. It's so rare for us to have fun... I don't want to go home."
"Exactly, Mommy, let's stay here tonight. We promise to behave."
Galatea was about to say something else when she was interrupted by Alaric's voice from behind.
"The kids are having such a great time, don't spoil their fun. I've already booked rooms, we're staying tonight."
"Daddy is the best!" Elisa and Caspian immediately cheered.
Meanwhile, Galatea's face turned green with annoyance; this man was doing this on purpose!
"Mr. Knight, Ms. Hartley, your rooms are ready. Please follow me," said a mountain lodge employee, approaching respectfully. "Harry and Elisa will have their own nanny. You don't need to worry," Alaric explained to Galatea.
"Exactly, Mommy, you both go about your business, and don't mind me," Caspian hurriedly added.
"That's right, Daddy, Mommy, you two have fun," Elisa said with a mischievous grin, the kind that was just asking for trouble!
In the presence of the waiter, Galatea couldn't very well make a scene, so she had to suppress her irritation and follow along with Alaric to the mountain lodge's guest room section escorted by the waiter.
The guest area boasted lavish decorations. Alaric had secured the largest penthouse suite, offering magnificent mountain views and a stargazing experience that promised complete contentment right from the comfort of the bed. When the waiter finally left, Galatea, quite irritated, confronted Alaric "Did you plan this all along?"
"Wrongfully accused," Alaric defended himself, "I simply wanted to indulge the kids. I booked the room on the fly, with no premeditation whatsoever."
Really now? Then why trek all the way to this mountain lodge just for dinner?
That man was up to no good!
"Instead of being angry, you might as well enjoy the stars," Alaric said as he lay down on the bed and gazed up at the night sky. "Anger can make a woman age."
As if she wanted to be angry. It was all on him!
Alaric simply lay there, watching the stars in silence, and Galatea had no choice but to lie down beside him. The moment she saw the stars, it seemed as if all of her displeasure was healed.
They were atop a mountain, on the top floor. The stars felt so close you could almost touch them, and the night sky was exceptionally beautiful.
It was perhaps even more beautiful than the night at sea...
