Mommy,We Got a Husband

Chapter 087 Is this Harry? Isn't this Caspian?

Perhaps it was Harry's words that had stung Alaric, as he was still caught up in the feeling of humiliation the next day.

The phrase 'a woman he couldn't have' bothered him. The idea that Alaric couldn't have a woman was laughable!

He instinctively reached for his phone, wanting to call Galatea, but he immediately set it down again, caught in a tangle of thoughts. Just then, his phone rang, and he quickly grabbed it.

Although it wasn't Galatea calling, seeing that it was Elisa on the caller ID made him just as happy. He hurriedly answered, "Hello, Elisa."

"Daddy!" Elisa's sweet voice seemed to melt his ears through the phone.

"What did you just call me?" Alaric couldn't help but feel a thrill of unnatural happiness. At first, Elisa had called him that, but later, she had started calling him Mr. Knight.

"Daddy, yeah. Aren't you about to marry Mommy soon? I've got to start getting used to it, right? I need to get you accustomed to it too."

"Marry soon? Where did you hear that, you little rascal?"

"Isn't it true?" Elisa sounded startled. "You've already given her the bridal room, and that incredibly expensive, exclusive watch as a gift. If you don't want to marry Mommy, why spend so much money on her? Are you a big sucker?" Huh?

The watch? Didn't Galatea refuse it, and didn't he throw it away?

"What watch are you talking about?"

"Have you got memory problems? The watch you gave to my mom for her birthday with her name engraved on it. I saw it, and Mommy admitted it was from you."

Alaric was briefly stunned, and then he quickly figured it out. She must have seen it in the trash bin and picked it up when she came to bring chicken soup.

That insincere woman, she refused it when offered, but went to retrieve it after he'd thrown it away!

"Yes, I gave her that watch. Does she like it?"

"Of course she does. Why else would Mommy keep it on her bedside table?" Elisa seemed anxious when she quickly asked, "But hey, you still haven't answered if you really want to marry her. You adults really beat around the bush." "We'll get married when it's the right time," Alaric said.

Then he asked, "Weren't you off experiencing life in the countryside? Why are you back early?"

"Yep, I came back yesterday," Elisa confessed honestly.

Upon hearing this, Alaric suddenly thought of something and hurriedly asked, "And your brother? Did he come back with you?"

"Of course, silly. We went together, so obviously we came back together."

Harry? The boy who looked exactly like Caspian?

He had never met him before, and now his curiosity was piqued. He couldn't wait to see if this Harry really did look just like Caspian.

"Elisa, aren't you supposed to be in school today? How come you have time to call me?"

"Going to school, but today the school organized an event that's already ended. If students want to go home, they can have their parents come pick them up. If not, they can stay at school and read a book until the official end of school when their parents can come get them."

Really?

"I'm going to pick you and Harry up now," Alaric quickly reminded, adding with a hint of mischief, "But this is a secret between us. You can't tell anyone, okay?" "Are you trying to secretly win me and my brother over?"

"Yes," Alaric admitted with a laugh. "So my future dear daughter, would you give me this chance?"

"Of course, my brother and I will wait for you at school. Come find us."

"Great."

After hanging up, Alaric couldn't wait any longer. He grabbed his car keys and strode out the door quickly.

Upon hearing that, Caspian felt a bolt from the blue. His dad was coming to see him? After all, he'd grown up with him. Would his cover be blown instantly?

"Elisa, why did you agree to it?" Caspian questioned.

"He's going to be our dad soon; we'd have to meet him sooner or later," Elisa replied, confused. "Harry, why are you so scared to see him? Also, last time he came to our house, you hid in the closet and were too scared to meet him. You haven't explained that to me properly. Tell me now, why?"

Caspian was speechless.

For a moment, Caspian didn't know what to say. Harry had told him that Alaric already knew they looked identical. This day was inevitable.

Since it was unavoidable, he might as well face it with composure.

Even though Alaric was his biological dad, Harry had been by his side for many days, and he hadn't noticed, right? As long as he insisted he was Harry, he should be fine. 'Caspian, stay calm! You must stay calm, don't panic!' he thought.

"Daddy!" Knowing Alaric was coming, Elisa was excited. She saw his car parked at the school gate and immediately ran towards it.

Seeing her run to him, Alaric quickly got out of the car, bent down, and naturally picked her up. "Daddy, you got here so fast."

Honestly, ever since Elisa started calling him 'Daddy', it brought him a sense of happiness he never really resisted.

"I came right after we got off the phone." Alaric glanced around and, noticing Elisa was alone, quickly asked, "Where's Harry?"

"What? Do you prefer boys over girls?" Elisa was somewhat displeased when Alaric asked this. "Do you like boys more than girls?"

"Of course not," Alaric said, barely able to suppress a laugh. "My Elisa is so adorable. Naturally, she's my favorite."

"That's more like it."

Caspian had to muster all his courage to step out of the school and walk toward him.

Alaric, however, was genuinely startled when he saw Caspian, and couldn't help but blurt out, "Caspian?"

Hearing Alaric say his name made Caspian instinctively feel guilty, and then he hurriedly corrected, "My name is Harry Hartley, what Caspian? Stop calling me that." "Exactly," Elisa quickly added, "I told you, this is my brother, Harry."

Alaric's shocked gaze fell once again upon Caspian, and he couldn't help but exclaim, "The resemblance is uncanny!"

Before he had seen him, Alaric had teased Galatea for not recognizing her own child, but now that he was seeing him in person, even he was taken aback. Wasn't this Caspian? Was this supposed to be Galatea's son Harry?

"I'm Harry Hartley, don't get it wrong again. It's very impolite to call someone by the wrong name," Caspian insisted, doing his best not to give himself away. It took Alaric a while to recover, then he suggested, "Alright, where do you two want to go? Daddy will take you."

"Daddy?" The term caught Caspian off guard, "Did you just say you're our daddy? Are you mistaken?"

"No mistake, Harry. He's about to marry Mommy. Naturally, we should start calling him Daddy now, to get used to it," Elisa chimed in before anyone else.
