Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 340 Wild Accusations

Since Rowena had said it, and it was so late now that it wouldn't be safe for her to take a cab alone, Cormac had no choice but to agree.

Seeing his consent, Rowena was particularly happy and quickly got into his car, sitting directly in the passenger seat.

After Cormac started the car, he focused on driving, clearly not wanting to engage in any conversation with her. Rowena had to find something to talk about.

"When I watched the interview before, I felt that Mr. Knight and Stellan's family of five were really happy. I didn't expect Mr. Knight's health to be like this, and Stellan to have such a difficult mother-in-law. Marigold not only treats Stellan poorly, but made Alaric, who is so frail, angry."

Talking about this, Cormac truly empathized and couldn't help but say, "I really don't understand why there are mothers like Marigold and fathers like Griffon in this world!"

The reason the Nash Family fell overnight was all because of Griffon. Cormac naturally hated him.

At the mention of Griffon again, Rowena's old scars were suddenly reopened. For a long time, Griffon had been her nightmare.

Cormac realized this and quickly said, "I'm sorry."

Hearing Cormac apologize, Rowena smiled and said, "You don't need to say sorry."

Cormac just felt awkward and remained silent.

"Is your father in prison?" Rowena asked cautiously.

"Yes," Cormac replied. This was common knowledge.

Since Griffon was arrested, Cormac had never seen him, and Griffon didn't want to see Cormac either.

They had almost severed their father-son relationship long ago.

After that, Rowena didn't speak anymore. She understood Cormac's feelings. Just as she was lost in thought, the car suddenly stopped.

"We've arrived at the coffee shop. Your car is over there," Cormac said.

Rowena looked at her car not far away and couldn't help but laugh. Cormac really just dropped her off at the coffee shop.

She thought, 'Couldn't Cormac have taken me directly to the hotel or his apartment at the entertainment center?'

Cormac said nothing, just waiting for Rowena to get out of the car. Rowena sighed, adjusted her emotions, and then leaned in to give Cormac a quick kiss on the cheek. "I'm heading out now."

With that, Rowena quickly opened the car door and got out. Cormac sat there, stunned, his hand instinctively brushing over the spot where she had kissed him.

Even after Rowena's car had driven off, Cormac remained in a daze, still trying to process what had just happened.

Back at the Knight manor, after seeing Alaric, Marigold returned home, took a pill, and began to cry uncontrollably. She muttered bitterly to herself, "If I had known he was just going to be a troublemaker, I never should have had him. What good is he if all he does is upset me?"

Joe kept handing her tissues, trying to soothe her. Seeing her tears nearly dry up, he cautiously asked, "Mrs. Marigold Knight, are you really considering cutting ties with Mr. Knight?"

"Otherwise, what choice do I have?" Marigold snapped. "He's clearly siding with Stellan now, not me. If I don't end our relationship, he'll do it sooner or later. I've wasted my time on this son!"

Joe fanned the flames, "It's hard to believe that the wise Mr. Knight has fallen for a woman like this. No wonder you're feeling betrayed, Mrs. Marigold Knight. Mr. Knight's actions are truly out of line." Marigold felt even more aggrieved hearing Joe's words.

"And that Ambrose he's the real villain here. Look at how he's gotten ahead, now a board member at Far East International."

"Exactly, it's all Ambrose's fault. The nerve of him-he's even blocked me. I can't reach him at all."

"I heard he's been spending time at the jewelry company lately."

Marigold, already seething with rage, couldn't wait to confront him. The next day, she went straight to the company.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Marigold Knight, but Mr. Vale is very busy. Without an appointment, you can't see him."

"Call him right now," Marigold demanded, her voice cold and determined. "Tell him if he doesn't see me today, I'm going public with everything he's done!"

When Linda heard Marigold's demand, she was anxious about any potential fallout and immediately called Ambrose to relay Marigold's exact words.

Upon learning that Marigold was on her way, Ambrose felt a deep sense of distaste. Yet, given Marigold's fierce tone, he was concerned she might actually cause trouble. With Stuart still in Country A, it was crucial to avoid any more complications.

As soon as Marigold entered Ambrose's office, she exuded a confrontational aura.

"Ambrose, you've really made yourself quite comfortable after scheming against me!" Marigold fumed as she took in the sight of Ambrose sitting behind his grand desk in his spacious office.

"Ah, Marigold, you flatter me," Ambrose said with a false note of sympathy. "I've heard about your troubles with Alaric. I must say I'm deeply sorry. When you asked me to kidnap Stellan, I did exactly that, but Todd's interference was completely unexpected. The way things unfolded was beyond my control."

"Beyond your control?" Marigold snapped. "Ambrose, do you think I'm stupid? If I can't see through your scheme after all these years, then I've wasted my life! All you wanted was for Alaric and Todd to take each other out, so you could benefit. How could you be so despicable? I was trying to get you to take Stellan away, and you backstabbed me!"

"Marigold, let's not make wild accusations," Ambrose said coolly. "You were the one who came to me asking for Stellan's kidnapping. How can you now turn around and blame me for scheming?"

"Enough with the pretense, Ambrose," Marigold cut him off. "I don't want to hear any more of your excuses. I don't want to see Stellan for even a second. Get that vile woman out of here, or I swear I'll spill all your dirty secrets!" Ambrose remained unruffled. Instead, he pulled a USB drive from a locked drawer and plugged it into his computer.

Marigold, puzzled by his actions, watched as Ambrose inserted the drive and played a recording. As the audio began, Marigold's expression hardned dramatically.
