Chapter 338 Are You Trying to Kick Me Out?

Upon hearing this, Stellan hadn't said anything yet, but Caspian, Harry, and Elisa quickly chimed in, "Yeah, Mommy, you have the three of us at home." "Exactly," Elisa hurriedly added, "Mommy, ever since Daddy woke up, it's been just the two of you. I haven't had any chance to spend time with Daddy." Hearing this, Stellan was speechless and asked, "Am I in the way of you and your daddy at home?"

Elisa said, "Pretty much."

Stellan was really annoyed. However, she did hadn't seen Rowena in a long time. Now that Alaric woke up and got better, her urge to gossip with Rowena was piqued again. Stellan shrugged. "Alright, Rowena happens to be free this afternoon. I'll go have a cup of coffee with her."

Alaric nodded. "Okay."

Since Stellan was kidnapped the last time she went out with Rowena, Alaric was particularly cautious this time and sent bodyguards to protect Stellan secretly. After Stellan left, Elisa immediately jumped into Alaric's arms. "Mommy's gone, Daddy finally belongs to me."

"Elisa, are you really jealous of Mommy?" Caspian was shocked.

Elisa said, "You don't understand my love for Daddy. Now that Mommy's gone, you guys can leave too."

Caspian and Harry looked at each other, feeling particularly helpless. "Alright, take good care of Daddy. If you need anything, just call us."

Elisa nodded. "Okay, now go out."

Caspian and Harry were speechless.

After Caspian and Harry left, Elisa snuggled up to Alaric, her little arms stretched wide to embrace him. "Now Daddy's all mine," she declared.

Alaric chuckled affectionately, cradling her small frame.

"Daddy, when I grow up and find a boyfriend, I want someone just like you. I'll find a soldier too!"

"Oh sweetie, Daddy wouldn't want you to marry a soldier. It's too tough a life," Alaric said gently. "I just want you to have a stable, happy life. At least make sure your future boyfriend is healthy. We don't want you ending up like your mommy, taking care of a patient."

Elisa nodded obediently. "Okay, I'll listen to you, Daddy. I'll find someone as handsome as you, with a personality like Caspian's generous and doting. That would be perfect!"

Alaric couldn't help but laugh at Elisa's words.

He thought, 'How have we suddenly started discussing this? She is still so young.'

Outside the bedroom, the exiled Caspian and Harry were left twiddling their thumbs.

"Suddenly feel like we don't belong anywhere," Harry sighed, resting his chin on his hand as he sat by the hall entrance.

"School doesn't start for another two weeks. You could always go out and get a part-time job," Caspian suggested callously. "Wasn't that your plan before you found your dad? To drag Elisa out job-hunting? Well, Elisa's not going, but you still can."

"Gee, thanks a bunch, Caspian," Harry retorted. "If I'm going job-hunting, you're coming with me. We'll put that pretty face of yours to work. Smile when the photographer says smile, cry when they say cry."

"Wow, Rook, you seem to know an awful lot about this. Speaking from experience? Must've been a real dignified lifestyle," Caspian shot back sarcastically.

Hearing Caspian's mocking tone, Harry was furious. Just as he was about to jump up and retort, he saw a car speeding in.

The person who got out of the car was Marigold. Seeing it was her, Caspian and Harry immediately blocked her way.

"Marigold, why are you here again? Didn't we say you can't come over without Mommy's permission?"

As soon as Harry finished speaking, Marigold hurriedly bypassed him and ran into the living room. She had just heard that Alaric had woken up and rushed over. Marigold shouted as she ran towards the bedroom, "Alaric, Alaric!"

Caspian and Harry couldn't stop her.

Hearing the commotion outside, Elisa immediately jumped off the bed and hurriedly blocked the door with her body. "Marigold, you can't go in. You can't see Daddy."

Seeing Caspian, Harry, and Elisa treating her like this, Marigold felt heartbroken again. She tearfully said to Alaric, who was lying in bed, "Alaric, look at your children. This is how they treat me. During the time you were sick and unconscious, I was so worried I couldn't sleep at night. Now that I finally heard you woke up, I rushed over to see you, but they won't let me. I'm so heartbroken. What's the point of living like this?"

Actually, Alaric had been awake for several days. The reason he hadn't told Marigold was precisely because of this.

Whenever Marigold came over, she would cry and complain about Stellan. Alaric really didn't want to hear it but couldn't avoid it.

"Elisa, let her in," Alaric said to Elisa.

Elisa was very reluctant, but since Alaric said so, she had to let her in.

After Marigold entered the bedroom, Alaric said to Caspian, Harry, and Elisa, "You three go play outside."

Since Alaric said so, Caspian, Harry, and Elisa had to obediently go to the first-floor hall. Marigold, afraid that they would hear what she was going to say, locked the door.

"Alaric, let me carefully take a look at you." Seeing Alaric so weak, Marigold was heartbroken. She anxiously looked him up and down and then started crying. "Look how thin you've become. I'm so sad."

After sobbing for a while, Marigold couldn't help but start complaining about Stellan, "You were fine before you got married. Ever since you married that woman, there has never been a moment of peace. Look at what she's done to you. If this continues, you'll end up dead because of her!"

Alaric sighed heavily, clearly exasperated. "Mom, do you know why I increasingly don't want to see you? It's because we have nothing in common. You only ever talk badly about Stellan in front of me, and frankly, I don't want to hear it. If you came here just to see me, you've done that. You can go now."

Marigold's face fell, her eyes welling up with sadness. "Alaric, I'm your mother. I came all this way because I'm worried about you. And now, after just a few words, you want me to leave?"

Alaric's tone remained cold. "Do you have anything to say that isn't about Stellan? If you do, I'm listening. If not, I really need to get some rest."
