Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 334 We Won't Disturb
Alaric didn't have much strength at the moment, so he could only let Stellan cry in his arms. Seeing this, Caspian pulled Harry and Elisa aside. Harry and Elisa really wanted to stay and help take care of Alaric, but they knew that in this situation, it was inconvenient for them to be here. So, Caspian, Harry, and Elisa tactfully left the bedroom and closed the door behind them.
Now, only Alaric and Stellan were left in the bedroom. Stellan cried in Alaric's arms for a long time, then she looked up at him.
Seeing Alaric's pale, gaunt face and thinking about how painful he was last night, Stellan felt heart-wrenching.
Stellan said, "Alaric, you were amazing. You made it through. Josep said that if you could get through last night's reaction to the medication, it wouldn't be as painful afterward. Josep will personally treat you. You will get better, you will recover completely, and you won't have to suffer from the aftereffects anymore."
When he heard this, Alaric's dry, colorless lips curled up slightly, and he spoke in a hoarse voice, "Thank you."
Stellan's tears burst out again at his words.
"I'm not the one who suffered, you did." Stellan was very emotional now. "Thank you, Alaric. Thank you for holding on. Thank you for giving me hope again."
Alaric slowly raised his hand to wipe Stellan's tears and said, "Don't cry."
Stellan smiled. "These are tears of joy. I'm so happy you woke up."
Alaric asked, "How long was I out this time?"
That night, after rescuing Stellan from the cabin, Alaric couldn't hold on any longer. At that moment, he really thought he was going to die.
He had so much he wanted to say to Stellan, but there wasn't enough time. Alaric thought he would die with regrets, but he was surprised to find himself still alive.
"It's been over a month," Stellan said, her face brightening with a grin. "Compared to the three years you were out before, this seems like nothing, doesn't it? I was ready for another three-year wait, but you woke up in just a month. You're incredible."
Alaric managed a weak smile. He had a lot on his mind, but after just waking up, he barely had the strength to speak.
"I know you're feeling weak right now, so let's keep it simple. Are you hungry?"
Alaric shook his head.
"You've been asleep for days, and all we could do was give you nutrient shots. You've lost so much weight. Just take it easy. I'll make some food for you. Try to eat a little, okay?"
Stellan was genuinely concerned that Alaric might not hold up, and Alaric didn't want to add to her worries, so he nodded.
"Alright then, Alaric. Rest here, and I'll be back soon."
As Stellan left, Caspian, Harry, and Elisa immediately entered the room. Seeing them, Alaric felt an overwhelming sense of happiness and luck-he was alive to see Caspian, Harry, and Elisa. "Daddy," Elisa burst into tears, "you really scared me."
Alaric started to say something, but Caspian quickly interjected, "Daddy, we know you're weak right now. You don't have to say anything just listen to us." Alaric nodded.
"Does anything still hurt?" Harry asked anxiously.
Alaric shook his head.
"Even if you're not in pain, we're going to give you a massage to help you feel better."
Harry promptly climbed onto the bed and began massaging Alaric. Caspian stood by, offering gentle reminders, "Be very careful, Harry. Don't hurt Daddy."
"I know, I know. Even if I hurt myself, I won't hurt Daddy. Don't worry," Harry said, adjusting his pressure just right.
"I want to help too," Elisa said, joining in with the massage.
Though Caspian, Harry, and Elisa were young, they were incredibly caring. Alaric felt deeply touched by their attentiveness.
"That's enough, you don't need to massage me anymore," Alaric said to Caspian, Harry, and Elisa.
"What's wrong, Daddy? Did we hurt you?" Elisa asked, concerned.
"No, I'm not in pain," Alaric replied, opening his arms. "I just want to hold you."
Caspian, Harry, and Elisa moved closer, carefully settling into Alaric's embrace, afraid of causing him any discomfort.
"Daddy, you don't know how worried we were while you were unconscious," Elisa said, her voice still trembling with emotion.
She leaned in and kissed Alaric's cheek. "You don't know how much I love you. The thought of you never waking up broke my heart."
"I love you all so much, too," Alaric assured them. "This is the last time I'll let you worry. From now on, I'll protect you all and make sure you never have to be scared again."
"No, we've grown up. We don't need protecting-we'll take care of you and Mom," Caspian said quickly.
"Yeah, we're old enough to look after you now," Harry added.
Alaric felt a deep sense of comfort at their words. What were a few aches and pains compared to this?
As Stellan brought over the food, Caspian, Harry, and Elisa eagerly vied to feed it to Alaric. Stellan, however, interjected, "You kids should go finish your homework. I'll handle your dad."
"Mom's got us again," Harry said with a resigned sigh. "It's fine, we get it. You two enjoy your time together. We'll be on standby, ready for anything, twenty-four-seven."
Understanding the hint, Caspian, Harry, and Elisa gracefully stepped aside. Stellan carefully helped Alaric into a more comfortable position, and then, gently blowing on the food, began feeding him. Though Alaric wasn't very hungry, he cooperated with Stellan's efforts.
After finishing a bowl of food, Stellan asked, "Do you want more?"
Alaric shook his head.
"That's enough for now. You can't overeat right away; your body needs to adjust gradually," Stellan said, her heart aching as she looked at Alaric's gaunt frame.
"You've lost so much weight too," Alaric said, equally concerned for Stellan.
His last memory before waking was of Stellan helplessly lying on Todd's bed, being humiliated by him. He thought, 'What kind of psychological damage has this done to Stellan? I should have comforted her after saving her, but instead, I ended up scaring her even more.'
Stellan, overwhelmed by emotions, could find no words. She moved closer, wrapped her arms around Alaric's neck, and kissed him deeply.
