Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 331 It Hurts So Much
Stellan was truly overwhelmed with excitement as she drove to pick up Josep, who was carrying a medical kit containing the newly developed medication.
Upon arriving at the villa, Harry and Elisa enthusiastically ran towards Josep, shouting, "Grandpa Josep!"
"Harry and Elisa," Josep exclaimed with great joy upon seeing them. He gazed at them affectionately before expressing his surprise, "You two have grown so much in just a few days." "It's been over a year, Grandpa Josep. You have more grey hairs now," Elisa said mischievously, standing on her tiptoes to touch Josep's beard.
"Elisa, manners," Stellan quickly reminded her.
Elisa pouted and withdrew her hand. At this moment, Caspian also stepped forward politely and said, "Hello, Grandpa Josep."
"Josep, this is my son Caspian," Stellan said, pulling Caspian over to introduce him.
"Is this the son you had been looking for?" Josep looked at Caspian and then at Harry, feeling a bit confused. "They really are triplets; they look so much alike." "Grandpa Josep, you can tell us apart. I'm taller than him," Harry quickly added.
Hearing this, Caspian directed a sharp gaze towards Harry.
"Alright, you three go play in the living room. Grandpa Josep needs to treat your daddy, and you mustn't disturb him," Stellan told the kids.
"Okay," the kids said in unison. Elisa then tugged on Josep's clothes and looked at him with pleading eyes. "Grandpa Josep, please make sure to cure my daddy." Josep replied, "Don't worry. I'll do my best. You all be good and wait outside."
The kids were always well-behaved and knew not to disturb such serious matters. So, they stayed in the living room while Stellan, Cormac, and Josep went into the bedroom. Once inside, Stellan's heart was in her throat. Although she trusted Josep, she couldn't help but worry.
Josep opened the medical kit and took out a syringe. Stellan quickly helped open the vial.
After filling the syringe, Josep turned to Stellan and said seriously, "Galatea, before I inject this, I need to inform you that this is a potent medication. It's extremely strong. It's ten times stronger than the medication you previously used on Alaric. So, once injected, he will be in a lot of pain, but the effect will be very quick."
A lot of pain?
Josep had never mentioned this to Stellan before. The medication was ten times stronger than what she had previously used on Alaric.
Alaric had already been in a lot of pain from the previous medication. How could he stand ten times more painful?
"He's already weak. Can he handle such a painful reaction?" Cormac asked worriedly.
Cormac had seen Alaric's reaction to the previous medication and had never seen him so weak.
Josep said, "This is how the potent medication works. If he doesn't use it, we don't know when he will wake up. And even if he does, the previous treatment method you used is too slow. Although the potent medication can be painful, once he gets through it, he will feel much better. Both options have their pros and cons. Galatea, think carefully about which treatment you want to choose." This really put Stellan in a difficult position. She didn't want to put Alaric through more suffering.
But Alaric's condition was severe and needed treatment. Both options were painful.
"Josep, go ahead with the injection." Stellan finally decided, gritting her teeth. "I believe in Alaric. If he had to choose, he would choose this one. Alaric has a strong will and can get through this." Short-term pain for long-term gain.
Josep said, "Alright, I'll proceed. We need to inject two doses. You two hold him down."
Hearing that Josep needed Stellan and Cormac to hold Alaric down, Stellan was so scared she could hardly breathe.
Stellan said, "Let's start, Josep."
Stellan and Cormac held Alaric down on either side, and Stellan gave Josep the go-ahead.
Josep then slowly injected the medication into Alaric's body.
As soon as half of the injection was administered, Alaric's body began to react, trembling violently. Seeing this, Josep calmly pushed the rest of the injection into Alaric's body.
Instantly, it felt like two powerful forces were battling inside Alaric, and his veins felt like they were filled with thousands of needles, causing excruciating pain.
"It hurts," Alaric said, regaining consciousness from the intense pain. His whole body started convulsing. Stellan quickly grabbed his hand and said, "Alaric, hold on. You have to hold on!"
"It hurts so much. It's unbearable." Alaric was drenched in sweat, the pain indescribable.
He gripped Stellan's hand tightly. Seeing him like this, Stellan felt heartbroken, but she couldn't cry. She had to stay strong and press down on Alaric's body.
Josep uttered, "This medication suppresses the aftereffects. Quick, inject the second dose."
Josep's words made Cormac quickly ask, "Josep, do we really need to inject two doses? This medication is too harsh on his body. He's already in so much pain from one dose. Another one might kill him." Josep said, "You are both doctors. No need for more words. You've made your choice, so don't hesitate!"
"Alright," Stellan replied, holding back her tears. She then said to Alaric, her words filled with unwavering support, "Alaric, you have to hold on. I believe you can get through this. Think of our three children, think of me. Alaric, you can do it. I believe in you!"
Alaric seemed to hear Stellan's words and nodded in response.
This time, Stellan took the syringe and administered the injection herself.
After the injection, the pain inside Alaric's body felt like a giant was expanding uncontrollably.
Alaric gritted his teeth, trying not to scream, but his body was in too much pain to control.
"Quick, hold him down," Josep shouted, pressing down on Alaric's arm. Stellan's voice was hoarse from crying. "Alaric, hold on. Once you get through this, everything will be fine."
Seeing Alaric in such pain, Stellan felt as if a knife was piercing through her heart. At first, they could hold him down, but eventually, they couldn't. Alaric finally stopped reacting and passed out again. "He's fainted from the pain," Cormac said.
Josep said, "It's just temporary. He's not in any danger."
Josep quickly checked Alaric's vitals, which were all normal. He sighed in relief. "He made it through. But this treatment was so painful that he's completely exhausted. Let him sleep; he'll wake up soon."
