Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 324 Alaric, We Agreed That We Work Hard Together

Initially, Stellan found herself overwhelmed with a busy schedule upon assuming her new role. It was only after understanding Alaric's daily work that she realized how hard Alaric had been working and how many things he had to worry about. Meanwhile, Cormac, who was given a break by Stellan, went to the Knight mansion. Upon entering the bedroom, Cormac saw a scene similar to what Stellan had seen before a very warm and cozy one.

Caspian, Harry, and Elisa were taking care of Alaric in a well-coordinated manner, not at all like children but rather very sensible.

"Uncle Cormac!" Caspian, Harry, and Elisa shouted in unison when they saw him come in.

Cormac smiled faintly, responded, and then sat down by the bed. Looking at the unconscious Alaric, he still felt a pang of sadness.

"Have you three turned into caregivers?" Cormac joked.

"Yeah." Caspian nodded. "Since we're on break and don't have to go to tutoring classes, we're staying home to take care of Dad. Mom said we need to massage and move Dad's limbs regularly to prevent muscle atrophy. I don't really understand the technical terms, but I know what she mean."

"Right," Harry added. "We need to take good care of Dad so that he could wake up sooner."

"Caspian and Harry are right!" Elisa chimed in.

Seeing how sensible the kids were, Cormac felt truly relieved. Despite Alaric being in a coma, having such mature and affectionate children was truly something to be envied.

"With you three taking such good care of your dad, I'm sure he'll wake up soon," Cormac encouraged them.

"Yeah, we think so too," Harry said confidently, then asked Cormac, "Uncle Cormac, where's Aurora? Why didn't she come with you?"

"Aurora is busy with her extracurricular activities. Her schedule is packed every day," Cormac replied.

"Oh, her life is so fulfilling," Elisa remarked.

"Uncle, you're even a year older than Dad and still unmarried, yet we're all grown up now. Aren't you in a hurry?"

"Wait too long to settle down, and your future kids might wonder why they weren't around for the fun!" Elisa teased.

"Uncle, you need to step up," Caspian added unexpectedly.

Cormac could only offer a helpless smile. After being teased by Aurora earlier and now Caspian, Harry, and Elisa joining in, he felt like he had come here just to be roasted. "Alright, I'll let you know as soon as I find someone," Cormac said.

Despite Caspian, Harry, and Elisa taking care of things diligently and leaving little for Cormac to do, he still stayed until Stellan returned in the afternoon since he had nothing else to do. "Cormac, you haven't gone back to rest yet?" Stellan asked, feeling quite helpless. She had given Cormac a break so he could go home and rest, but he had stayed here with Alaric all day. "Aurora has swimming lessons, and I'll pick her up after class and head home," Cormac said.

Seeing that Cormac was about to leave, Stellan quickly said, "Cormac, you've been here all day. It's not appropriate to leave at dinner time. Which swimming pool is Aurora at? I'll send a driver to pick her up, and we can all have dinner together here."

"That's right, Uncle Cormac!" Harry immediately hugged Cormac's leg. "Stay for dinner. Aurora hasn't been to our house yet."

"Yeah, I want Aurora to come over and play," Elisa added.

Unable to resist their enthusiasm, Cormac agreed and said, "Alright, no need to send a driver. I'll go pick her up myself."

"Okay," Stellan said, watching Cormac leave. Then she turned to the kids and said, "Go tell the kitchen maid that we have guests tonight and to prepare more delicious food."

"Yeah, last time we saw Aurora liked braised meat, so let's have the chef make some really tasty braised meat for her," Elisa said enthusiastically. "Alright, you three have worked hard taking care of Dad all day. Go play now; I want to spend some time alone with your dad." Stellan said. "Okay."

After Caspian, Harry, and Elisa left, only the unconscious Alaric and Stellan remained in the bedroom.

Elisa had only given Alaric a simple wipe-down, cleaning his face and limbs. Stellan brought warm water and used a warm towel to carefully wipe Alaric while talking to him.

"Alaric, I'm now the acting director of Nexus Innovations. Because of this, I've had a big falling out with Marigold. We've even completely torn our relationship apart. Would you be angry with me if you knew?" she said.

Stellan couldn't bear to think about how Alaric would react if he were to discover that Marigold was responsible for the kidnapping incident.

Alaric would probably be furious and might even sever ties with Marigold.

Stellan could also imagine Marigold's reaction at that time-crying hysterically, cursing madly, and then having a heart attack, causing chaos in the entire family.

"I'll handle these troublesome matters. I'll be the bad guy. You just sleep and rest without having to be caught in the middle. But you can't be greedy and sleep for too long, okay?" Saying this, Stellan put down the towel, climbed onto the bed, and lay next to Alaric, leaning in to kiss his lips.

"Alaric, we agreed that I would work hard, and you would too. You haven't seen what I'll look like in fifty years, and you haven't seen the kids grow up. So you absolutely can't fall. Otherwise, I'll really hate you." After speaking, Stellan lay in Alaric's arms, feeling his breath. She felt it was the most beautiful melody in the world.

Listening to Alaric's heartbeat, Stellan felt both joy and fear. She was really afraid that his heartbeat would suddenly stop.

Stellan lay quietly in Alaric's arms until she heard Aurora's voice downstairs. Only then did she slowly get up. 'Does Cormac bring Aurora over?' she wondered.

At that moment, Stellan suddenly thought of something. She quickly took out her phone and made a call.

After finishing the call, Stellan put her phone away and said to Alaric, "Alaric, I'm going downstairs to have dinner with Cormac and Aurora. Wait for me. I'll come back to keep you company after dinner."

With that, Stellan kissed Alaric on the lips again and then walked out of the bedroom, closing the door behind her.

As soon as Stellan walked out, she heard Aurora's surprised voice. "Wow, is this your house? It's so big! It feels like a hundred times bigger than the house I used to live in. Can your family of five really live in such a big house? It feels like it could accommodate hundreds of people."

The house Aurora and Matthew used to live in was, without exaggeration, not even as big as one of the bathrooms here. This stark contrast truly shocked Aurora.

"Aurora, I felt the same way when I first came to this house," Elisa couldn't help but say. "It felt unbelievably big. But later, I realized that this is just rich people's hobby. When they can't spend all their money, they buy houses. Otherwise, life is only a few decades long, and it would be a shame to die without spending all the money."

Aurora couldn't help but laugh and said, "Elisa, I think you make a lot of sense."

"Of course it makes sense," Elisa said, pulling Aurora towards the dining room. "Come on, Aurora, let's eat. We made your favorite meat."

"Have a seat, Cormac," Stellan said with a smile.

They sat down at the dining table, but just as they did, Mia came over and said, "Stellan, Miss Blaire is here."

'Miss Blaire? Rowena?' Cormac wondered, immediately feeling a sense of unease.

This was exactly Stellan's intention. The call she had made earlier was to Rowena, and knowing that Cormac would be here tonight, Rowena decided to come over as well.
