Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 298 You Don't Even Have a Girlfriend
The fans at the scene were incredibly enthusiastic. The birthday party lasted until the early hours of the morning. Even after it ended, the fans were still very excited, chanting in unison that they would always support Rowena. Rowena gratefully bowed to her fans and friends to say goodbye, then walked out of the birthday venue with Stellan. "Your fans are really passionate," Stellan said.
"Yeah, they are all very cute. The leader of the fan club has been supporting me since before I became famous. It feels like she has witnessed my growth. Over the years, I've become friends with them. Having them around feels very warm," Rowena confided.
"Yes, being loved by so many people indeed brings a sense of happiness. Keep it up, create more great songs, and give back to them," Stellan encouraged.
"Yeah. Your hard work contributes to human medical science, which is even more remarkable," Rowena said.
Stellan just smiled and said, "Alright, it's getting late. I should head home. Happy birthday."
"Thank you, Stellan." Rowena gratefully hugged Stellan, then watched as Stellan got into her car and drove away.
Now that the fans had left and Stellan had gone, it suddenly felt quiet. Rowena reflected on how warm and happy this birthday had been.
The only slight regret was Richard's lack of concern. Despite having publicly wished her a happy birthday on Facebook, he hadn't taken the effort to send a private message or even make a phone call.
Even though she and Richard had many differing views, they were still together, and she really wanted to make this relationship work.
But Rowena felt powerless. She found Richard's thoughts harder to guess than a woman's, completely unpredictable.
It was already past midnight, and her birthday was officially over. Since Richard hadn't sent her a message by now, he probably wouldn't.
Rowena simply turned off her phone and got into her car.
At this moment, Stellan was driving very fast. Despite being physically present at Rowena's birthday celebration all day, her thoughts were elsewhere with Alaric.
"Thank you, Cormac. You should go rest now," Stellan said to Cormac when she got home at 12:40 AM.
"Alright." Cormac stood up and said to Alaric, "Don't worry about the company. Just focus on your recovery. I'll come to see you in a couple of days."
"Okay," Alaric responded.
After seeing Cormac out, Stellan immediately returned to the bedroom. She kicked off her shoes and climbed into bed, feeling Alaric's forehead with her hand. Confirming that he didn't have a fever, she felt a bit relieved. "How are you feeling today? Did you throw up again? Did you eat? What and how much?" Stellan inquired.
Hearing her barrage of questions, Alaric couldn't help but smile wryly and asked, "You asked so many questions at once, which one do you want me to answer first?"
Just as Stellan was on the verge of speaking, Alaric flashed a swift smile and interjected, saying, "It's okay. I took a nap after you left, had some lunch, and then slept all afternoon. I feel much better now."
"That's good." Stellan let out a long breath and then snuggled into Alaric's arms. "You have no idea how hard every second was for me today. I couldn't tell Rowena about your condition and make her worry. It was her birthday, and I couldn't leave early and make her unhappy."
Alaric couldn't help but laugh and said, "I'm not a three-year-old child. Why do you worry so much?"
"Don't compare me to our kids. When Harry and Elisa were three, I didn't worry this much," Stellan said.
Hearing this, Alaric couldn't help but laugh, and Stellan laughed too.
"How was the birthday party? Did you have fun?" Alaric asked.
"Yes, it was great. I got to enjoy a free concert. Rowena sings really well." Stellan looked up at Alaric and asked, "When you get better, let's take Caspian, Harry, and Elisa to see Rowena's concert, okay? A real concert should be very exciting and awesome!"
"Okay," Alaric agreed readily. "It's very late. Let's go to sleep."
"Goodnight." Before falling asleep, Stellan kissed Alaric on the lips, then lay in his arms and closed her eyes.
When Cormac returned to his apartment, it was already past 1 AM. Aurora had long been asleep, but Cormac was wide awake.
He sat on the couch, took out his phone, and opened Facebook. Since Rowena was a celebrity with a huge following, her birthday news was still trending.
He was looking at Rowena's comments, finding they were all fans wishing her a happy birthday in various ways, and Richard had specially timed his birthday wishes.
So, among the hundreds of thousands of blessings, his one was not missed.
Turning off his phone, Cormac lay directly on the couch. He had long been used to sleeping on the couch.
When Cormac woke up, it was already daylight, and a thin blanket had been placed over him.
"Uncle Cormac, you didn't drink last night, so why did you sleep on the couch?" Aurora had already prepared breakfast.
Cormac didn't even know how he fell asleep last night. Hearing Aurora's question, he joked, "Maybe I'm so used to sleeping on the couch that I forgot to sleep in the bed."
"You're so absent-minded," Aurora said worriedly. "You need to find a very attentive and good woman to marry."
"Why are you talking about this at such a young age?" Cormac asked.
Aurora said, "I'm young, but you're not. Uncle Cormac, you're already thirty. Normally, people at thirty have kids running and playing, but you don't even have a girlfriend. I'm worried about you." Aurora was worried about him?
"You should focus on your studies and stop thinking about these things," Cormac instructed.
"I don't need to worry about my studies. It's your lifelong happiness that's more concerning. Someone as good as you needs a very special girl. You can't settle for just anyone."
Aurora's tone was so amusing to Cormac that he nearly burst out laughing. He said, "Alright, stop worrying about me. Finish your breakfast and get to class. Are you doing art today?" "Yes, outdoor sketching," Aurora answered.
"Be careful." After breakfast, Cormac watched Aurora leave.
Even though it was a Sunday, Cormac couldn't rest. He went into his office, just opened his files to continue working, and his phone received a news push.
It was entertainment news. Cormac had no interest in that, but this one was about Rowena.
