Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 288 Alaric, You're Slandering Me!

'About the Storm Family?' Todd thought.

Todd and Bill exchanged glances upon hearing this; then both looked at Ambrose, who immediately averted his gaze.

"Don't even think about lying to get out of this," Alaric reminded them again. "I've already arranged everything outside. If I don't get a satisfactory answer today, no one will be leaving here."

Todd really wanted to kick himself at this moment. 'Why did I have to invite Alaric to this jewelry exhibition?' he asked himself inwardly. He intended to annoy Alaric, but instead, he got himself into trouble. "This is Arizona. If anything happens to you here, I have plenty of ways to clear myself. Understand?" Alaric threatened again.

"Mr. Knight, I really don't understand why you would think Mrs. Knight's family's bankruptcy has anything to do with the Vale Family," Bill began, feigning innocence. "The Vale Family has no connection with the Storm Family. Stuart and Brennan have never even met. There's no enmity between us, and the Storm Family's bankruptcy wouldn't benefit the Vale Family at all. Why would we do something so pointless and harmful?"

"Exactly, Mr. Knight," Todd chimed in with his usual nonchalant tone. "We also regret what happened to Mrs. Knight's family back then and understand your desire to find out the truth. But you can't just accuse anyone you come across, right?" "Framing and murder-if these charges stick, you can imagine the consequences for the Vale Family. Such serious matters should have a consistent story. Why is it that what I hear from Mr. Todd Vale is so different from what Mr. Ambrose Vale says?" Alaric reminded.

A deathly silence hung over the room again. With a glare filled with bloodlust and anger, Todd's eyes pierced Ambrose. Ambrose immediately panicked and became even more enraged. "Alaric, what are you spouting? When did I ever say such things to you? Stop slandering me!"

"Todd and Bill both said the Storm Family has no connection with the Vale Family. If you hadn't said anything, how would I have made the connection?" Alaric retorted.

Alaric knew that Ambrose just wanted to stir things up, making him and Todd fight while Ambrose watched the fun. Alaric decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.

"Alaric, stop lying! I never said that!" Ambrose was genuinely anxious about being "slandered." He hurriedly explained to Todd, "Todd, don't listen to him. He's just trying to sow discord between us. He's talking bullshit!"

"You know whether I'm lying," Alaric said leisurely. "It's no secret that you've always had your eye on Stellan. To gain her forgiveness, you told her that Brennan's death had hidden truths and that you had evidence. You said if she left me and came to you, you'd give her the evidence. Am I falsely accusing you? Do you dare say you never said that?"

"Bullshit. That's crap!" Ambrose, who had been a spectator, suddenly became the target. He lost all his usual fake elegance. "Alaric, you despicable person, you're trying to sow discord and frame me!"

"Frame you? I don't have the time," Alaric said disdainfully. He then looked at Todd and Bill and asked, "I don't have that much patience. If you know something, you'd better speak up."

Even if Todd and Bill did know something, Alaric had already said that if the charges stuck, it would be a death sentence. Since Todd and Bill knew that, how could they be so foolish?

"Mr. Knight, this is really an injustice!" Todd shouted. "The Storm Family's troubles happened seven or eight years ago, right? At that time, Ambrose was indeed with the Storm Group, but Stuart hadn't acknowledged him yet. He wasn't part of the Vale Family. It was only after the Storm Group collapsed that Ambrose, having nowhere else to go, returned to the Vale Family. Although Ambrose is an illegitimate child, he's still my dad's son. My dad took pity on him and kept him in the Vale Family."

He continued, "Our only connection to the Storm Family is only through Ambrose. The Storm Family's issues have nothing to do with the Vale Family. Mr. Knight, please find the truth."

After Todd finished speaking and saw that Alaric didn't respond, he immediately made a gesture and said, "I swear, if there's even a single lie in what I just said, I'll get hit by a car as soon as I step out!"

Alaric didn't believe such words. Just as Todd finished speaking, Alaric's phone rang. It was Stellan calling.

Alaric had already arranged for the staff to accompany Stellan and not let her return to the VIP room. In fact, Stellan didn't want to go back either.

Todd and Ambrose were in the VIP room, both of whom she particularly disliked. She had already bought the jewelry she wanted and was worried that Alaric might get into a dispute with them, so she called him. Alaric answered the phone and said, "Wait for me in the car. I'll be there soon."

After hanging up, Alaric stood up. He knew that no matter how much he threatened them, they wouldn't talk. But he had already achieved his goal for the day.

"Stellan is tired. I need to take her home. That's it for today. Whether the Vale Family is involved in Brennan's matter, I will find out," Alaric said.

With that, Alaric left. Once he was gone, only the three of them were left in the VIP room. Ambrose was the most panicked and quickly explained, "Todd, don't listen to his nonsense. I never said those things. He's just trying to sow discord..." Before Ambrose could finish, Todd punched him hard in the face. Todd angrily cursed, "When have I ever been humiliated like this? Bill, take this bastard back!"

After wiping the blood off his face, Todd quickly walked out, feeling utterly humiliated. Bill dragged Ambrose and followed closely behind.

In the car, Stellan had been worried until Alaric got in. She looked him over and, seeing that he was unharmed, finally felt relieved.

She said, "I was too careless. It wasn't until I left the VIP room that I realized there were four people in there, and three of them are from the Vale Family. You also told the staff not to let me go back, which made me really worried." "Don't worry. Did you get all the jewelry?" Alaric changed the subject.

"Yes, I got some for myself, some for Elisa, and some for Rowena," Stellan replied. "I saw in Rowena's profile that her birthday is next month, so I'll keep it and give it to her as a birthday gift."

"Alright, as you wish," Alaric said. "Let's go pick up Caspian, Harry, and Elisa, and then we'll go home."

Today's visit to the jewelry exhibition was quite fruitful. It made Stellan happy, and more importantly, it involved the Vale Family. Ambrose must be having a hard time now.
