Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 284 The Atmosphere Was a Bit Awkward

Upon hearing footsteps outside the guesthouse, Rowena and Richard quickly stood up.

"Miss Blaire, Mr. Walker, sorry to keep you waiting. This is our new entertainment center manager, Mr. Cormac Nash," introduced the assistant, Xavier. When Richard saw that the new manager was Cormac, he was stunned. He froze there in disbelief for several seconds before asking, "Mr. Nash?"

Just a short while ago, Cormac was a down-and-out laborer working at the docks. How did he suddenly become the manager of the entertainment center in just a few days?

Rowena, on the other hand, was particularly happy to hear the news. She was sure that Alaric had found out where Cormac was from her last time, and the two had cleared the air. Seeing Cormac doing well now, Rowena was genuinely happy. "Yes, this is our entertainment center manager, Mr. Nash," Xavier reiterated, seeing Richard's disbelief. He added, "From now on, Mr. Nash will be responsible for all your promotional activities and other work arrangements."

Richard felt infinitely awkward, and Cormac hadn't expected to see the two of them either. He instructed Xavier, "You may leave now."

"Yes, Mr. Nash," Xavier replied.

After Xavier left, only Cormac, Richard, and Rowena remained in the guest room, causing the awkwardness to intensify. Richard forced a particularly awkward smile and said, "Mr. Nash, as expected of Rowena's senior, you are knowledgeable and capable. Your previous work at the docks was just a form of training, right?"

Cormac merely smiled faintly. Seeing that Cormac didn't respond, Richard extended his hand and explained, "The previous incident was really a misunderstanding. I was just looking for a driver and didn't expect to find you." "What's past is past. No need to bring it up again," Cormac said.

"Yes, you're right. It's all in the past," Richard said enthusiastically. "We signed a ten-year contract as promotional ambassadors for the entertainment center. We'll have a lot of time to work together. I hope we can cooperate happily, Mr. Nash."

A ten-year contract?

In the following ten years, they would shoot promotional videos, various advertisements, and promotional posters. In short, they would have many interactions.

To be honest, Cormac didn't like this situation. He had to admit that he still couldn't let go of Rowena. He just wanted them to live their own lives and never see each other again.

However, with a ten-year contract, he and Rowena couldn't avoid each other and would have to interact for a long time.

"Hope our cooperation is pleasant," Cormac replied reluctantly and perfunctorily.

Afterward, Cormac reviewed the promotional posters and advertisements shot by Richard and Rowena. Since Richard and Rowena were a couple, the promotional angle focused on their sweetness, and their joint promotional photos were particularly intimate.

"Everything looks great. Thank you," Cormac said blandly. "If there's nothing else, I'll get back to work. Please also proceed with your duties" "Alright, Mr. Nash, you go ahead," Richard quickly said.

From beginning to end, Cormac and Rowena didn't say a word to each other. Cormac didn't even glance at her, deliberately avoiding her. After speaking, Cormac was the first to leave the guest room. Once he left, the smile on Richard's face disappeared instantly. "How could the new manager of the entertainment center be him?" Richard couldn't understand.

Richard asked this while looking at Rowena, as Cormac was Rowena's ex-boyfriend, and she must know something.

"Cormac and Mr. Knight are good friends. It's only natural for good friends to support each other," Rowena explained.

"Good friends, Cormac?" Richard was jealous upon hearing this. "You sure call him affectionately."

"Richard, don't be so sarcastic. He's already married, and we have no chance anymore. Didn't you notice he was deliberately avoiding us just now?"

"It really doesn't matter, so why avoid us deliberately?" Richard did care deeply. Then he suddenly thought of something and said, "You just said he's good friends with Alaric? Since you knew that, you should have expected to run into Cormac when you became a promotional ambassador for Nexus Innovations' entertainment center." "What are you trying to say?" Rowena asked.

"I'm not trying to say anything. I'm just uneasy as your boyfriend," Richard said. "Rowena, you know, I made our relationship public at the peak of my career. You know how many fans I lost. Now, many female fans are still chasing and cursing me. I've really given you a lot of security, so you can't..."

"What are you talking about? He's already married. There will be nothing going on between us. If you're not comfortable, you can come to handle the work next time," Rowena said.

"That's not what I meant." Seeing Rowena angry, Richard quickly explained, "You know I care about you too much, which is why I'm so insecure. Cormac is your ex-boyfriend, and you'll have many opportunities to meet in the future. I really can't feel at ease."

"I already said I won't come to handle the work in the future, nor will I meet him privately. Can you be at ease now?" After saying that, Rowena turned and walked out in anger. Because she was in a hurry, she bumped into the assistant, Xavier, who was coming around the corner.

The coffee in Xavier's hand spilled all over Rowena. Since Xavier was a new assistant and it was his first day working with Cormac, he knew Cormac liked coffee and had quickly brewed a cup to bring over. He didn't expect this to happen. "I'm really sorry, Miss Blaire. I'll clean it up right away." Seeing the coffee spill all over Rowena, Xavier panicked and quickly looked for a wet wipe to clean her clothes.

"It's okay. I'll handle it myself," Rowena said. She then turned to Richard and said, "You go wait in the car. I'll go to the restroom to clean up."

"Alright," Richard responded and then entered the elevator.

Cormac went to work, and Aurora waited in the apartment. When Cormac arrived, she asked, "Cormac, are you done with work?"

"Yes," Cormac replied. "Today, I'll take you out for dinner. Just this once, and then I'll cook for you."

Since he was genuinely happy, he decided to celebrate just this once.

"Okay, thank you, Cormac." Aurora took Cormac's hand and then said guiltily, "Cormac, did I cause you a lot of trouble? If I hadn't gone sketching, then..."

"You didn't cause me any trouble," Cormac interrupted Aurora and patiently said. "In fact, you helped me."

She helped Cormac? What did he mean?

Seeing her confused look, Cormac smiled and said, "You wouldn't understand, kid. Let's go, we're going out for dinner."

Cormac held Aurora's hand as they walked out of the apartment. As they passed the restroom, Rowena happened to come out, and they were face-to-face in an instant.
