Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 265 What Are You Doing Here?

"What's wrong?" Seeing Rowena's face turn pale after answering the phone, Stellan asked with concern.

"Nothing," Rowena said, trying to cover up. "Just some daily reminders. I'm tired of hearing them."

"He's just concerned about you." Stellan didn't know what else to say, so she probed, "You've been dating Mr. Richard for many years?"

"No, not even a year yet," Rowena replied honestly.

"Oh, then you're still in the honeymoon phase." Stellan could only say that much, fearing that asking more would upset Rowena, so she left it at that.

The two individuals shopped for apparel and accessories, discussed the entertainment sector, fashion, and skincare, getting along famously.

Meanwhile, Ambrose, having completed the entertainment center project, found himself with some free time. Despite numerous developer approaches, he maintained a low profile.

Going from being extremely busy to having nothing to do, he felt out of place. He left the house where he could see Stellan's Reassuring Clinic and didn't feel like buying a new place, so he booked a hotel room for a month. Half-lying on the massage chair in the hotel room, Ambrose stared blankly at Stellan's photo on his phone.

"Stellan, you have no idea how much I miss you," he said to himself.

Damn Alaric, he no longer gave Ambrose any chance to get close to Stellan, so Ambrose could only look at her photos on his phone.

"Mr. Vale." Denny knocked and entered.

Ambrose, a bit impatient, said, "Isn't Todd arriving tomorrow? I just want some peace today, don't bother me."

If Todd arrived, Ambrose's peaceful days would be over. He wanted to take advantage of this quiet day to look at Stellan's photos.

"Mr. Vale, it's about Ms. Storm," Denny reported quickly. "Ms. Storm went to the mall today with a young woman, and Alaric wasn't there."

"What did you say? Alaric isn't there?" Ambrose instantly brightened up.

Alaric was like an omnipresent fly, and Stellan was always at the Reassuring Clinic. Alaric always picked her up and dropped her off. Ambrose had no chance to approach her. "Yes," Denny answered.

"Keep an eye on them, I'm heading over!" Ambrose couldn't wait any longer. He knew he would eventually get his chance, and here it was.

Stellan and Rowena bought a lot of things at the mall, carrying large and small bags into a stylish restaurant.

After sitting down, Rowena happily said, "Stellan, I had so much fun shopping with you today. I haven't done this in a long time."

"Me too," Stellan replied. "You're so famous now, your schedule must be packed, right?"

"Yes," Rowena said honestly. "The entertainment industry is brutal. Being famous is a stroke of luck; new stars emerge every year. No one can stay famous forever."

She added, "When the stars still have commercial value, the agency will push them to take on as much work as possible, whether they like it or not."

"That's true, you're also not entirely in control," Stellan said.

"I'm not complaining, really. I'm luckier than a lot of musicians 'cause lots of people listen to and like my songs. I'm still young, so it's good for me to keep working. But when I'm not as popular anymore, I bet no one will hire me, even if I really want to keep going.," Rowena explained.

"You have a clear perspective," Stellan said. "I don't know much about the entertainment industry, but I've met celebrities before. Most of them are arrogant because of their popularity. It's rare to see someone as clear-headed as you, especially with your level of fame."

"Singing is just a job, one that happens to be known by the public. Having my songs heard worldwide is an honor, so how could I be arrogant?" Rowena said.

Just as Stellan first met Rowena, she had a calm and unassuming demeanor, like a serene lake in spring, making people feel very comfortable.

"Your perspective is right, and you're truly amazing. Your success is well-deserved," Stellan said with a smile.

"You too," Rowena sincerely complimented. "I was quite nervous about having dinner with you all. I didn't know how to interact with a wealthy family." She continued, "I didn't expect you to be so approachable. No wonder Mr. Knight's career is flourishing; it's because he married you."

Hearing this, Stellan felt a bit embarrassed and said, "Are we just flattering each other?"

"A bit," Rowena laughed.

"Let's stop with the flattery. We really hit it off. Let's toast with drinks," Stellan suggested.

They clinked their glasses and smiled at each other, feeling the joy of finding a good friend.

Halfway through the meal, Stellan stood up and said, "Rowena, you keep eating, I'm going to the restroom."

"Okay," Rowena replied.

Stellan went to the restroom, humming Rowena's song. She was genuinely happy to have found a good friend.

After using the restroom, Stellan turned on the faucet to wash her hands. When she stood up and saw Ambrose in the mirror, she was startled.

"Stellan, I finally get to see you," Ambrose said.

Stellan hurriedly turned around, and seeing Ambrose standing in front of her, she was furious.

"Are you still stalking me?" she shouted out.

Realizing that Ambrose had been watching her all along, she felt a chill and took out her phone to call the police. Ambrose quickly pressed her phone down.

He said, "Stellan, I just happened to run into you here today. Even if you call the police, they can't do anything to me."

"Ambrose, what do you want? I'm married to Alaric, we have three kids, and we're very happy. There's no chance for us!" Stellan exclaimed.

"Yes, the whole world knows you're happy with your family. The whole world also knows you're so satisfied that you don't want to investigate how the Storm family went bankrupt, or how Brennan was wrongfully killed!" Ambrose said. "Ambrose, shut up! You have no right to mention the Storm family, and even less my father!" Stellan said angrily. "Alaric will help me investigate the Storm family, you don't need to worry."

"Alaric will help you investigate? Then tell me, what has he found out after all this time?" he asked.

"Stop trying to drive a wedge between us. Even if nothing is found, I won't come to you. Ambrose, give up. Seeing you makes me sick!" With that, Stellan turned to leave, but Ambrose grabbed her wrist. "Stellan, I haven't finished talking."

"I don't want to hear it, let go of me!" Stellan struggled.

"Who are you? Let go of Stellan, or I'll call for help," Rowena uttered.

Upon noting Stellan's extended absence in the restroom, Rowena investigated and encountered the situation.

Seeing Rowena, Ambrose was momentarily distracted, and Stellan took the opportunity to push him away.

Rowena grabbed Stellan's hand and started to leave. Ambrose, still unwilling to give up, said, "Stellan, I have very important information to tell you. I can tell you right now, are you sure you don't want to hear it?"
