"Alaric?"

Seeing Alaric freeze, Stellan quickly called out. Alaric snapped back, still puzzled, and said, "Rowena Blaire?"

Stellan glanced at Rowena's photo and then at Alaric. "Do you know her?"

"Is she a singer?"

Stellan, not knowing much about celebrities, said, "Let me check."

She quickly looked up Rowena online and was surprised by what she found.

"She's a singer and songwriter. She wrote songs for famous artists and hit it big last year with her album. She's currently the hottest female singer." So she really was a singer?

Stellan asked, "Do you know her?"

Alaric explained, "Cormac's ex-girlfriend was named Rowena Blaire. He said she loved singing, but I never met her, so I don't know if it's the same person." "Cormac's ex, the one he's still hung up on?" Stellan was shocked and looked at Rowena's photo again.

"I'm not sure if it's her. It might just be a coincidence." Thinking of Cormac, Alaric felt down and closed the info.

"Even if it's a coincidence, it's fate. Why not choose her?" Stellan suggested.

"Alright." Alaric called Silas. "Tell them the female ambassador will be Rowena. The male one can be anyone."

"Got it, Mr. Knight."

"I wonder how Cormac is doing now." Alaric always felt guilty about Cormac but didn't know where he was or how to make it up to him.

Meanwhile, Cormac was lying on a damp sofa, staring blankly at his phone. Two headlines caught his eye.

"The Knight Group's entertainment complex will have its grand opening on the 6th of next month. Free admission on opening day, limited spots, first come first served!"

The comments praised Alaric's generosity and showed excitement.

The next headline read: "Former Nash Group President Griffon, charged with attempted murder, tax evasion, and other crimes, will go to trial next month. Legal experts predict a life sentence." The comments celebrated justice being served.

Seeing these two pieces of news side by side felt like a slap in the face to Cormac.

Since Griffon was arrested, Cormac hadn't visited him and didn't want to. He tried to act indifferent about Griffon's potential sentence but couldn't truly let it go.

"Cormac!"

Aurora suddenly called out, interrupting his thoughts. Cormac locked his phone and looked up at her.

"Cormac, look at this." Aurora handed him a test paper she had been hiding behind her back.

Cormac looked at the scores and overall ranking. Aurora got first place.

"Aurora, you're amazing!" Seeing her grades, Cormac felt proud. Aurora was a perfect kid,responsible and academically excellent.

"It's not bad," Aurora said confidently. She carefully put away the test paper and added, "Cormac, I'm about to start a part-time job."

"You're too young to work. We still have savings. I'll enroll you in a class during the vacation. Every kid learns various skills nowadays. You're great at academics; you shouldn't fall behind in other areas. Music, painting, dance... What do you like?"

Despite her grades, Aurora had never learned any extracurricular skills due to their financial situation.

"I can learn those online. No need to spend money. I can already dance and draw," Aurora insisted. "I just want to help out at a restaurant. It's not tiring."

Cormac felt a pang of helplessness and gently ruffled her hair. Aurora was determined, and once she made up her mind, no one could change it.

"If I work at a restaurant, I can secretly learn cooking from the chefs and make food for you," Aurora said with a smile.

Cormac smiled. "I can cook now. I'll make food for you. You don't have to."

Cormac used to be a pampered young master who wouldn't even pick up a fallen spice jar. Recently, Aurora had been doing all the cooking. Now, he had to learn. Though not great, his cooking was at least edible. "No need, I'll cook. You work too hard and need to rest when you get home," Aurora said softly.

Cormac smiled gratefully. Having such a considerate daughter was a blessing; it was a pity Matthew passed away so early.

Aurora asked, "Did you see the news? The biggest entertainment center is opening, and admission is free on the first day. Let's go together, shall we?"

Aurora's classmates were all talking about it. With summer vacation starting next month, many of them planned to go.

An entertainment center?

Back when Alaric first planned to build it, Cormac had opposed it, fearing it would attract Alaric's old enemies. Now, thinking back, Cormac found his past self laughable. When did Alaric's affairs ever require his concern? "I'm not going," Cormac replied firmly.

He had completely severed ties with Alaric and didn't want to be near anything related to him.

Aurora asked in confusion, "Why not? I know you're off that day." She added eagerly, "It's the biggest entertainment complex in the country, with lots of fun things and even a science museum. It's free on the first day, a great chance to see it. After that, it will be expensive."

"I said I'm not going!" Cormac said sternly.

His sudden harshness startled Aurora. She stood there, not knowing what she had done wrong, staring at Cormac in silence.
