Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 249 Naive
Back in the day, Stellan would've been shy and maybe even wanted to punch Alaric. But now, she found it fun and played along.
"Yeah, I want you. Will you give it to me?"
Alaric laughed, pinched her nose, and said, "You're getting better at this."
Stellan chuckled, "Like you said, it's hard to resist."
Alaric grinned, dropped his robe, and pulled Stellan into bed.
They were getting better at knowing each other's sensitive spots, making each time exciting and different. But Stellan felt guilty because she was scared of having kids. So, she always made Alaric use condoms. He didn't mind, but she felt bad for not letting him fully enjoy it.
Afterwards, Stellan lay in Alaric's arms, and he played with her hair.
Stellan sighed, "We're heading back to Arizona tomorrow. It'll be busy again."
Their trip hadn't been productive, but they'd had fun, like a mini-vacation.
"If you don't want to go back, we can stay a few more days," Alaric suggested. "No, it's fine. It's a short trip. But we'll have more chances in the future."
They'd only been gone two days, and Marigold was already restless. Another two days, and she'd probably come looking for them.
"You're right, we'll have plenty of chances," Alaric said dreamily. "When we go on vacation, I'll take you around the world. Once we've seen it all, we'll come back and just enjoy life."
"Okay," Stellan said, looking forward to that day.
Alaric whispered, "We have an early flight tomorrow. Let's get some sleep."
He held her tighter, and they fell asleep in each other's arms, feeling warm and contented.
The next morning, they got up, had a quick breakfast, and headed to the airport.
Marigold had already heard from Silas about their early flight. Knowing they were really coming back, she felt a bit relieved.
"Alaric's been a handful since he was a kid," Marigold complained. "I was glad he wasn't dealing with those awful organizations anymore, but now he's helping Stellan with some case. He just can't stay out of trouble." "Mr. Knight hates evil and has a strong sense of justice," Joe said.
"There are so many wrongful cases. Does he plan to handle them all? He's just asking for trouble," Marigold said, worried. She quickly grabbed her phone. "I need to call Ambrose."
Ambrose had just made it to the break room at the construction site, exhausted from meeting deadlines. Seeing Marigold's call, he didn't want to answer but felt he had to. "Hey, Mrs. Knight, what's up?"
Marigold said, "I'm feeling uneasy. Since you like Stellan, don't give up. If you need my help, I'm all in."
She realized she couldn't break up Stellan and Alaric alone. The more she tried, the worse it got. She needed Ambrose to stay in the game and feared he'd give up on Stellan, leaving her isolated. "Don't worry, Mrs. Knight. As long as I'm breathing, I won't give up on Stellan."
"Good."
Ambrose added, "You're already pretending to accept Stellan, right? Keep it up. Make everyone believe you've truly accepted her. Then, they'll let their guard down, and you can help me later." "I get it." Though it made her sick, Marigold knew she had to play along.
"Great. Trust me, Mrs. Knight. It's only a matter of time before I win Stellan back," Ambrose said confidently.
After hanging up, Ambrose asked Denny, "Alaric and Stellan should be on the plane by now, right?" Denny replied, "Yeah, they should be back in Arizona by noon."
Ambrose smirked, "Stellan's too naive. She thinks she can easily dig up stuff from seven years ago? Does she think Alaric's a miracle worker? If she wants the truth, she'll have to come to me." Denny agreed, "Yep, once Ms. Storm realizes Alaric can't help, she'll turn to you."
Ambrose was sure of it. Stellan had a strong bond with Brennan; she wouldn't let him die unjustly. No matter how important Alaric was, Brennan meant more.
"By the way, Mr. Vale, the entertainment center project is almost done. What's next?" Denny asked.
Ambrose scoffed, "Alaric wants me out of Arizona after this project. No way. Far East International is making waves now."
"You mentioned developers are lining up to work with us. Gather their info and give it to me. I'll pick the best and keep working in Arizona."
"Yes, Far East International is in high demand. Many are eager to collaborate," Denny said proudly.
Denny added, "Oh, Mr. Vale, I heard from the overseas HQ that Mr. Stuart Vale is thrilled with your success and has been praising you. This has really annoyed Todd. His company is struggling, and Mr. Stuart Vale is mad at him. Todd's jealous of your success and might start a project in Arizona."
"Are you sure?"
"Pretty much," Denny said. "Even though Mr. Stuart Vale favors him, your achievements are remarkable. Many top execs are praising you. It's normal for Todd to feel threatened."
