Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 236 Find Another Way
"You're exhausted today. Get some rest," Alaric said gently to Stellan.
Stellan replied casually, "Yeah, I'm exhausted. Didn't expect the Reassuring Clinic opening to be so occupied."
She closed her eyes, and Alaric kept massaging her until she fell asleep. Once she was out, he covered her with a blanket, walked to the window, and stared at Ambrose's house.
"So, Ambrose has been looking for trouble since then. You're really asking for it," he thought.
After another glance, Alaric drew the curtains, returned to bed, and held Stellan close. For him, the best time was at night, holding her and sleeping together.
Tonight, Alaric and Stellan didn't go home. Caspian, Harry, and Elisa were in a tough spot. They didn't want to confront Marigold, but she wouldn't leave without them.
"Your parents are busy enjoying their time together. They can't take care of you. I've retired and have plenty of time. Come stay with me at the Knight manor; it's much more comfortable," Marigold kept insisting. Harry yawned and said, "Is anyone else paying attention to you besides me? Stop talking so much; you're making me sleepy."
"I really hope you could come back to the Knight manor. I miss you when you're not there," Marigold said.
"Before, Caspian was at the Knight family every day, and you didn't miss him. Now that you know we're your real grandkids, you miss us so much. Your affection is based on that DNA result. You're quite pragmatic," Harry said sarcastically, not giving her a chance to respond.
"If you want to keep talking, go ahead. I'm going to sleep," he yawned and went upstairs. Seeing Harry leave, Marigold tried to talk to Caspian and Elisa.
Caspian took Elisa's hand and said, "Elisa, let's go rest, too."
They each went to their rooms and locked their doors.
Marigold thought Elisa would be the easiest to convince and wanted to enter her room, but she couldn't get in.
"Mrs. Knight, take it step by step. Don't rush," Joe advised.
"How can I not be anxious? My grandkids are right here, but they don't accept me and are very resistant. What can I do?"
"Mrs. Knight, why not try a different approach? They're all on Ms. Storm's side now. You can't go against her. Try to win the kids' affection first," Joe suggested.
"A different approach?" Marigold felt disgusted by Joe's suggestion. "You want me to pretend to make peace with Stellan? Apologize, accept her, and then turn against her once the kids accept me?" Joe nodded. "Something like that."
"No way!" Marigold was firm. "I hate Stellan. I can't pretend to be nice to her. I'm not an actress; it's too disgusting."
Joe added, "Mrs. Knight, there's no other way now. You'll have to endure it. Do you really want to go against her? If Mr. Knight cuts ties with you and the kids do the same, what then?"
"That can't happen!" Marigold couldn't accept it. "They're the blood of the Knight family. I can't let that woman take them away."
Joe said, "There's no alternative. It wouldn't be wise to set yourself against her now."
Joe's words somewhat convinced Marigold, and she muttered, "That woman is infuriating. Once I win the kids over, I'll deal with her!"
Stellan was really tired and slept soundly. Alaric woke up early but didn't want to wake her. He thought about making breakfast, but his phone rang, waking Stellan. She slowly opened her eyes. When Alaric hung up, Stellan asked, "Who was it?"
"My mom. Ignore her; she's always throwing tantrums," Alaric said.
Stellan didn't know how to handle Marigold, so she listened to Alaric. "What do you want for breakfast?" Alaric asked.
Stellan thought for a moment. "How about we go out to eat? I feel like having barbecue. Reassuring Clinic opens at nine, so we have just enough time." "Alright, let's go."
As they were about to leave, they saw a large bouquet of flowers at the door. The flowers were surprising, but the face behind them was even more shocking. It was Marigold!
"Mom, how did you find this place?" Alaric instantly grew stern.
Marigold replied, "You two didn't come back to the Knight mansion last night, nor were you at the company rest area or at Stellan's place, so you had to be here. So, here I am."
Stellan was surprised and immediately caught the key point. So, Marigold spent the night at the Knight mansion? Where were the kids now?
"Where are the kids? Where did you hide them?" Alaric asked directly.
"What are you talking about? I'm their grandmother. Where could I hide them? Besides, your kids are so smart. Could I really kidnap them? I just missed them last night and visited them. They called me a trafficker and an old witch and were very resistant to me. I..."
Marigold lowered her head and started to sob. Joe quickly said, "Mrs. Knight is truly good to the children, but they really hurt her. She cried all night at home; her eyes are swollen from crying."
