Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 224 You Don't Need to Be Afraid

Galatea got what Alaric was saying, and it really touched her how thoughtful he was.

She nodded. "Alright. From now on, I'll go back to being Stellan Storm."

A fake name was still a fake name. Her real name was Stellan Storm, and she never forgot it nor dared to.

Starting today, she'd be Stellan again, living under her true identity.

"But I'm used to calling you Galatea, so I won't change that," Alaric said.

"Okay," Stellan smiled and nodded. "You can keep calling me Galatea. I like hearing it."

Alaric patted her head affectionately and said, "And I want to change Harry and Elisa's names."

"No problem. Back then, I didn't know who you were, so I let Harry and Elisa take the surname Storm. When you handle the paperwork, you can change their names too. Rook Knight and Zoe Knight sound great." Alaric suggested, "That's not what I meant. I have an idea. One kid takes my last name, one takes yours, and another takes the last name, Hartley." "What?" Stellan was puzzled.

"Even though Galatea Hartley was a fake name, it's been with you for years and is a memory worth cherishing. One named Caspian Knight, one named Rook Storm, and one named Zoe Hartley. Isn't that special?" Stellan was really surprised.

"Isn't it good? Nowadays, who says kids have to take their father's last name? We're wealthy and have three kids. It's boring if they all have the last name Knight."

Alaric really had some ideas.

Stellan said, "But your mom is very traditional. For her, having children is all about carrying on the family name. Even if we had ten kids, she wouldn't allow any of them not to have the last name Knight."

Alaric explained, "That's exactly why we need to break this old tradition. I raised Caspian, so it's okay if he takes my last name Knight. You raised Harry and Elisa. I should be grateful as their dad. It's reasonable for Harry and Elisa to take your last name."

Stellan didn't expect Alaric to be so open-minded.

She shrugged. "This is your idea. If your mom gets mad, you deal with it. It has nothing to do with me."

"Okay."

After that, Alaric checked the time and said, "It's getting late. Let's take the kids home."

"Okay."

Alaric said, "Galatea, wait a minute, give Cormac a call. He definitely won't answer my call right now, but he might answer yours."

Now that Cormac had nothing, he must be feeling down, and Alaric was worried.

"I know." Stellan had already planned to do that without Alaric saying so.

Cormac, who came out of the coffee shop, didn't know where to go.

Cormac always felt that Orion's car accident wasn't a coincidence. He had to find out whether it was Alaric's fault or not.

Cormac went to the traffic department to get detailed information about Orion's car accident. The other victim in the accident was named Matthew Ryan, forty-one years old.

Since both drivers died on the spot and the nearest surveillance footage wasn't very clear, the accident was ultimately determined to be caused by Orion's speeding. However, the autopsy revealed that Matthew had taken a large amount of drugs before the accident.

The cops figured the drugs messed with Matthew's head, causing him to lose control of the car. Basically, both drivers were at fault.

With the blame split and both drivers dead, neither family pushed the issue, and the case was closed.

Seeing Matthew's address in the records, Cormac decided to investigate. The family's lack of action seemed suspicious.

He had to get to the bottom of it!

Cormac arrived at Matthew's place, a rundown, remote neighborhood that looked like it could collapse any minute.

As soon as he stepped into the hallway, a musty smell hit him, and the stair railings were rusted.

Finding Matthew's door, Cormac knocked. He could hear movement inside, but no one answered.

"Open up!" Cormac was already suspicious about the accident, and hearing someone inside ignoring him made him even more annoyed. After a couple of minutes, still, no one opened the door.

"I know someone's in there. Open up now, or I'll kick it down!" Cormac shouted, getting angry.

Just as he was about to kick the door, it opened.

To his surprise, a girl about fifteen stood there, clutching a fruit knife, her face streaked with tears and full of fear.

Aurora Ryan's voice shook as she asked, "Who are you?"

Cormac glanced around the one-bedroom apartment. Besides Aurora, there was no one else.

"Is this Matthew's home?" Cormac's tone softened a bit seeing her.

"My dad died in a car accident a few days ago," Aurora said, choking up, her body trembling even more.

So, she was Matthew's daughter?

"I know. There were two victims in that accident; one was your dad, and the other was my sister," Cormac said truthfully.

Hearing this, Aurora seemed even more scared. She trembled more violently and said, "So what do you want? Compensation? We don't have anything left." Cormac looked around. The place was bare, and Aurora's clothes were old and worn.

"Is it just you here?" Seeing her fear, Cormac felt a bit of pity.

Aurora nodded. Since the accident, the traffic cops had come by a few times, asked some questions, and left.

Aurora had been handling everything alone and hadn't been to school.

"Did anyone come by before the accident? Or did your dad contact anyone?" Cormac asked.

Aurora shook her head, still scared. "No."

Well, she was just a kid. What would she know?

"I really don't have any money," Aurora said, starting to cry.

Cormac had hoped to find some answers, but it seemed Matthew's only family left was this young girl, Aurora. "You don't need to be afraid. I'm not here for money," Cormac quickly explained.

"Then why are you here?" Aurora asked, still trembling.
