Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 200 Alaric suddenly thought of something important
"Already at the hospital? So fast?" Galatea asked.
Alaric grasped Galatea's hand as they got out of the car. With a pensive expression, he suggested, "You've been recuperating from the car accident for a while. Since we're at the hospital, why not have a follow-up check to assess your progress?"
Today was very important to Galatea; she wasn't in the mood for any check-ups.
Galatea refused, "Let's skip it today. I..."
Alaric said firmly, "Today, you must get a check-up. It's been so long; you should have done it a while ago. You have to listen to me."
Galatea felt helpless. There hadn't been so many issues before; why were there so many today?
Alaric led her into Ravenna's hospital room. Cormac hadn't expected Alaric to come.
"How is Ravenna now?" Alaric asked.
Cormac shook his head. "Not good. Since she was moved to a regular ward yesterday, she's been mumbling to herself and won't wake up no matter what. The doctors are at a loss."
Alaric looked at Ravenna lying on the bed. Indeed, as Cormac said, she was mumbling something, but the voice was so low that you couldn't hear it unless you got close.
"Ravenna?" Alaric moved closer to her bedside and called out softly, yet there was no response.
Ravenna remained in a nightmare-like state, her brows furrowed, looking particularly pained.
Unable to catch Ravenna's words, Alaric leaned in close, pressing his ear against her mouth, and faintly discerned some murmurs.
He clearly heard Galatea's name.
"Is she calling Galatea's name?" Cormac asked.
"Yes, I heard it too, but I couldn't make out the rest," Alaric said.
Galatea also put her ear close to Ravenna's mouth, but she only heard her name.
Why was Ravenna calling her name repeatedly? It was so peculiar.
"Who allowed you to come?" At that moment, Griffon and Orion entered. Upon spotting Alaric and Galatea, Griffon was visibly incensed, but beyond anger, he was consumed by a sense of guilt. Since Ravenna was moved to the regular ward, only Griffon and Orion knew what she was mumbling.
Ravenna was saying things like, "I'm sorry, Galatea."
Others couldn't hear what Ravenna was saying, but Griffon knew, and it made him furious.
He never expected Ravenna to keep saying such things after falling unconscious. What if Alaric heard it?
So, seeing Alaric there, Griffon reacted strongly.
"Cormac, your mother is already unconscious. Can't you stop tormenting her? You brought these two here to infuriate your mother to death?"
Griffon was so angry he wanted to slap Cormac. Cormac wasn't helping him but was instead getting close to Alaric.
"Yeah, Cormac, Mom is already like this. Can't you let her have some peace?" Orion quickly added.
At that moment, a nurse came in to give Ravenna an IV. Seeing so many people in the room, she said, "The patient's condition is not good. Please don't crowd around her."
After that, Griffon became even more insistent. "Did you hear that? We don't need so many people around my wife. You two, get out!"
"Let's go, Galatea." Alaric didn't say another word to Griffon and led Galatea out.
Galatea felt uneasy. She murmured, "Although I don't like Griffon, it pains me to see Ravenna in this state. She truly is a good person."
"Yes," Alaric agreed. Ravenna was different from Griffon and Orion, and thankfully, Cormac inherited her kindness.
Galatea said in confusion, "Why would Ravenna call my name while unconscious? I can't figure it out." When Cormac told Galatea over the phone, she thought he must have misheard. But she had just heard it herself. "In such situations, people usually think of their loved ones. Why would she keep mentioning me?"
Alaric couldn't figure it out either.
Alaric said, "If you can't figure it out, don't think about it. We've seen Ravenna; now let's get your check-up. I'll call the director right away to arrange a full-body check-up for you."
Galatea wanted to stop him but couldn't.
Alaric called the director, who personally brought a team of specialists. They conducted various check-ups on Galatea. Galatea wanted to continue her conversation with Alaric, but she had no chance.
After a long ordeal, Galatea's check-ups were finally over, but the results weren't all in yet, so she had to wait at the hospital.
She checked her phone again; still no call from Marigold. Galatea suddenly felt scared.
What if Marigold turned off her phone and disappeared?
"Don't worry, the results will be good," Alaric comforted her, seeing her restless state.
Galatea just gave a bitter smile. She wasn't nervous about that.
Galatea looked at him. "Alaric, I actually have more to say to you."
"Didn't you already say everything?" Alaric was helpless.
"I pretty much guessed what you were going to say." Alaric pretended to have figured it all out. Galatea asked, "How could you guess these things?"
Alaric smiled. "I guessed it since you told me you were Stellan."
Galatea's mind was a mess, and having just seen Griffon, she asked, "Did Griffon tell you?"
"Griffon?" Alaric was stunned. "What would he tell me? What does your matter have to do with him?"
"I'm also puzzled. He knew I was Stellan a long time ago. I thought he would tell you, but he never did."
"What did you just say?" Alaric seemed to catch onto something important suddenly. "You said Griffon knew you were Stellan a long time ago?"
Galatea nodded. "Yes, he found me a long time ago, but I didn't want to get serious with you then, so I never told you."
Griffon had known Galatea was Stellan for a long time. The DNA test back then could have been his doing.
And then Galatea's car accident...
