Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 133 Could Caspian's Mama be Her?
Ambrose had returned from the hospital and was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, using a telescope to watch Galatea's clinic. The workers had already left after finishing renovations, but Galatea hadn't come back yet. So, she spent all night taking care of Alaric at the hospital? The thought of them shamelessly displaying affection in the ward made him feel resentful.
He clenched his fists tightly until his palms were sweaty, then looked down at his hand. The wounds from smashing the glass yesterday had reopened.
When they were together before, she could notice even a mosquito bite on him, let alone an injury. But now, she didn't pay attention to his bandaged hand, only focusing on Alaric.
He took a sharp breath and threw the telescope aside before sitting on the couch, his mind filled with Galatea.
'Stellan, do you really not love me anymore?' The thought pierced his heart like a knife, but he immediately rejected it. 'No, I don't believe it. I absolutely don't!'
Yes, he didn't believe it!
They were together for so many years; how could she just stop loving him?
"Stellan, I'm the only one in this world who can make you happy. Don't worry, I won't let go of anyone who forced me to leave you back then!"
Just then, his phone rang, and it was Denny calling. Ambrose adjusted his emotions and answered the call.
"CEO Ambrose," Denny reported, "After the Storm family went bankrupt, we still haven't found Ms. Stellan's whereabouts. However, I discovered that she paid off all her debts one month after the bankruptcy and then disappeared. Less than a year later, news of her death spread."
"She paid them off one month after the bankruptcy? And then died in less than a year..." Ambrose muttered. Wasn't this the exact timeline?
"What about Harry and Elisa's birth dates?"
"It coincides with the date when news of her death came out."
Everything started to make sense.
"I understand now." he hung up the phone and thought about what happened to her back then.
At that time, she was desperate for money due to debts and had no choice but to have Alaric's child. Mrs. Marigold must've planned the whole process, and Stellan was completely unaware of the Knight family's background. Perhaps Mrs. Marigold initially only wanted an heir and abandoned Stellan, or maybe something happened halfway through that led to Stellan's eventual "fake death".
Even though she miraculously survived, one could only imagine her pain then.
It was his forced departure that left her with no other choice, and Mrs. Marigold completely stepped on her dignity!
Harry and Elisa were Alaric's children. At this moment, they probably still didn't know since Mrs. Marigold was lying in the middle.
Thinking of this, Ambrose quickly grabbed his phone and called Denny. Denny asked hurriedly, "CEO Ambrose, what are your instructions?"
"Immediately assign bodyguards to protect Stellan secretly. I'm afraid that if Mrs. Marigold finds out she's still alive, it might be to her disadvantage."
That old witch only wanted a child; she didn't care about Stellan's life or death. If she finds out Stellan didn't die but didn't want Alaric to marry Stellan, who knew what extreme measures she might take? "I understand, CEO Ambrose."
"Make sure to protect her safety. If anything happens to her, I won't forgive you!"
"I understand," Denny said firmly.
After ending the call, Ambrose sighed and said, "Stellan, I won't let anything happen to you again."
In the hospital room, Alaric was lying comfortably on the bed with Galatea beside him. When one was sick, seeing a doctor gave them psychological security.
Moreover, Galatea was now his fiancée. She didn't need to take care of other patients except for him. He felt calm, not worrying about any issues with his health.
"The IV is finished, so you should rest," Galatea said. "I slept a bit too much today, so I'm not tired now. I'll carefully consider your treatment plan."
"My treatment plan?"
"Yes, we only treated your insomnia before, but now we have to start treating the aftereffects. You had a cardiac arrest this time, and I dare not imagine what might happen next, so we need to treat you as soon as possible," she explained. "Well then, thanks for your hard work, Dr. Galatea," Alaric said mischievously.
She joked, "It's nothing. Alright, you're recovering now and need more rest; sleep well. I'll work on the plan and then sleep."
"Okay," Alaric replied softly and closed his eyes.
Afterward, she sat down at her desk, and Alaric opened his eyes again. From this angle, he could see her face perfectly, looking even more enchanting in the light.
The hospital room was tranquil, and all he could hear was the sound of scratching on paper. Watching her, he wondered about something.
If Mrs. Marigold had really lied about Caspian's parentage and his mom wasn't Orion, could it be Galatea?
Otherwise, why would Caspian and Harry look so identical?
Thinking about it, Alaric laughed. Was it possible?
Now, he couldn't fall asleep as well. He just kept watching her, lost in his thoughts. When he saw her about to turn around, he quickly closed his eyes.
Galatea glanced at Alaric, who seemed like he had fallen asleep. She checked the time, noticing it was already early morning. Due to the time difference, it was noon in M Country at that moment. She picked up her phone and walked to the window, dialing a number. The call was quickly answered.
"Hello, Josep? It's Galatea. I'm really sorry for disturbing you during your lunch break."
Upon receiving a call from Galatea, Josep was quite surprised and hurriedly responded, "You know I'm old and don't really take catnaps. Why did you suddenly remember to call me? Are you thinking of returning?"
"No, it's not that. I need some help from you. Here's the thing; I have a friend with a special condition. He has post-traumatic sequelae, and experiences intermittent attacks, but each one is particularly dangerous. I've written a treatment plan for his condition, but considering my limited experience, I haven't tried it before. I'm afraid there might be side effects, so I wanted to ask if you could take a look when you're free."
"Now that you've asked, of course I will. Send me his medical records and your treatment plan, and I'll get back to you after reviewing it."
"Thank you so much, Josep."
"It's no big deal, so no need to thank me." he then asked, "It should be very late in your country now. Studying a treatment plan in the middle of the night, what kind of friend is this? Your relationship must be special."
