Wylder felt the ground shake. He wondered whether this was an earthquake or a landslide. But not once did his eyes leave the doll under him. Without Night and his wizard’s power, he couldn’t sense what exactly was happening to her, but the way her eyes were glowing, he could tell that it wasn’t her wolf.

Because her hazel eyes were glowing like light. Hazel eyes often appeared to shift in color from brown to green. Although Hazel mostly consists of brown and green, the dominant color in her eye was green compared to brown or gold.

Her eyes were glowing in the same way that his eyes used to glow in the color silver when he used his wizard power.

He heard the painful voices of the werewolves around them. Even Erik, who was whopping his back, disappeared. God knows where.

He didn’t care to look around and find out what exactly was happening to them because his eye was on the little witch under him. Yes, she was a witch, and he hated them with passion because his witch mother tried to kill his Lycan, then his witch kidnapper, who too wanted to kill his Lycan when he was going to show up, then his ex-fated mate, who too wanted to kill his Lycan, and last but not least, his own sister, who too wanted to kill him.

And now, Arabella.

Was she playing with him from the beginning to kill his Lycan? Was this a trap?

He watched her touch his face and whisper the spell that he could understand, but that was of no use to him. The next thing he felt was a soft and soothing aura around him. He knew what was happening to him.

He was getting healed, and the witch under him was a green witch. A witch who was known for being a naturalist, an herbalist, a wise woman, and a healer

The glow of her eyes started disappearing, and her eyes returned to a hazel color before shutting down.

“No, no, no, no, no, no!” Wylder shook his head and tried to lift his body, feeling perfectly fine as if nothing had happened to him a moment before. “Ara?” He shook her body, softly patting her cheek and lifting her body from her waist, but nothing happened.

That was when he looked at the ground, which was wet with her b***d.

“Ara..” He called her name while his heart pounded loudly in fear, thinking about the worst thing.

Did he say that he hated witches?

“Ara, wake up, please.” He spoke, looked around for help, and found all the werewolves tied to the trees. They were trying to free themselves, but those trees had hugged them so tight as if they were in their death grip, including Erik.

As much as Wylder wanted to deal with each of them, he knew he was running out of time. He had to take Arabella from here as soon as possible. At the same time, he heard a lot of loud growls, and he recognized those growls.

Those were his people.

Picking Arabella up in his arms, he followed the direction from which that growl was coming.

‘Night?’ He tried to talk with his Lycan but couldn’t reach him. All of a sudden, a tree blocked his way and signaled him to take the other route. For a while, that freaked him out even though it shouldn’t because he lived in a world full of vampires, shifters, demons, dragons, witches, and many more.

But he listened to that tree’s instruction and ran in the other direction; he felt all the trees were making space for him in the vast and dense forest.

‘I’m back.’ Night growled. ‘What did I miss?’ He questioned but soon got the answer to his question. All of a sudden, he gave control to Wylder, shifting into the Lycan form and letting out a loud roar, signaling everything about his position.

He heard Arabella muttering in a low tone, “Network… No… I…”

‘Alpha.’ Zahir came running towards him after finally finding him.

‘Kill those bastards. They are glued to the tree.’ Wylder ordered before running towards the pack, holding Arabella. Night was hiding deep down, feeling worried for her. It was his human who knew how to handle tough situations.

He could see what had happened in the past, including the fact that Arabella used her witch’s magic. He wasn’t fond of witches either, but he was ready to die for this little witch with a smile on her face. At the same time, Wylder was blaming himself for Arabella’s state. He was the one who asked her to climb on the tree to check the network, even though a part of him knew that it was impossible to find a network there.

He failed to keep her safe while she made sure that nothing would happen to him.

‘Moms, call Lee and ask her to reach my pack as soon as possible.’ He mind-linked Eden and Arya. He was going to take some time to reach there, but at the same time, he wasn’t sure whether Liara would be free or not. So, informing in advance would be better.

‘Okay.’ Arya agreed.

A lone tear escaped Wylder’s eyes when he recalled her words: ‘I’m ready to die with you, but I swear to the Moon Goddess that I won’t leave you alone.’

When he was finally out of Morawali Forest, he tried to use his wizard power, and it worked. He had been so happy about his powers before. Using his wind power, he reached his pack within a couple of minutes, like a heavy storm.

“Lee…” He smiled weakly when he saw her in the pack hospital with a pup barely one-year-old or even less than that in her arms, along with his mother. Looking at her, I felt like a light in my darkness. Liara gave her son to Eden and rushed her to do her doctor’s duty.

Liara’s green eyes blazed blue when she placed her hand on Arabella, healing her internally while taking her to her room while Wylder grabbed an extra pair of shorts that the staff of the hospital brought for him. Wearing it, he rushed into the room to which Arabella was taken.

He silently watched her get treated once Liara was done healing her. He kept blaming himself for everything, so he dared not go near her.

He was just glued to one place.

“Tell me that she is perfectly fine,” Wylder asked after an hour.

Liara sighed before shaking her head. “I couldn’t heal her one ankle. It was damaged before repair, and it looks like this was not the first time her ankle was damaged. Someone has broken it to the extent that

Wylder didn’t care to listen to what she was saying as her words kept repeating in his mind, ‘This wasn’t the first time her ankle was damaged.’

He had no idea what exactly they did to her, but they would pay for it.

He left the room immediately. The night was with him on this. They wouldn’t spare anyone who had hurt Arabella.

‘Zahir, what’s the update?’ He asked as he wasn’t in a position to ask that earlier.

‘Everyone disappeared, Alpha when we reached there. We would feel a heavy blanket of darkness; all the trees were dead, and that place was more like dead land than green land. I didn’t inform you before because…’

‘It’s fine. I know who they are and where I will be able to find them.’ Wylder spoke, cutting him off in between.

‘That’s why I thought. That’s why the moment I reached back to pack, I dropped a mail at Werewolf King and Queen asking for permission to attack The Nightfall Pride and explained everything to him.’

Wylder mentally praised Zahir, who knew what he had to do in Alpha’s absence.

‘In fact, I’ve already received a reply from Queen asking for proof that those werewolves were really responsible or are under the influence of the witch that I mentioned in the previous mail.’ Zahir said that Wylder felt that even the Queen was right.
