Mine: His Caged Princess -
Chapter 86
“You’ve got my phone. Check whether there is a network or not; if there is, then call Caroline or drop a message at her number.” Wylder spoke, remembering that he had one last option with him. Arabella quickly grabbed the phone, unlocked it in a hurry, and checked for Caroline’s number.
“The password is 0852,” Wylder said, and that was when Arabella realized that she had already unlocked his phone. “Is there a network on the phone? If not, start climbing on the tree.”
Arabella didn’t need to think twice about it. She wasn’t sure whether she could climb the tree or not, but she had to try because there wasn’t a network at this place. Her heart started pounding loudly when she heard the growls of the wolves; they were coming near. So she had to hurry up.
She would think later about how the hell she knew the password to the phone. She typed it as if she had practiced doing that. It was all the digits in the middle row.
She saw one of the werewolves lunging at Wylder, and he hit him with the branch as hard as he could, throwing him away. She focused on climbing. Her legs slipped a little, but she grabbed the tree tightly. She had to do it for herself and for the man who was making sure that no one would come anywhere near the tree on which she was climbing.
Handling werewolves one by one was easy for Wylder until they attacked him together.
“SHIFT” Wylder heard someone’s command, but he couldn’t see who that person was. “You all aren’t planning to give him an easy death, are you? Break both his legs and hands.” Wylder still didn’t know who was commanding them, but he did see how all the wolves shifted into human form, hitting him with their legs all over his body.
“Bring my pet.” Wylder heard. He tried to fight them, but he felt his legs and hands glued to the ground. The witch or wizard, whoever he or she was, was around.
Never in his life had he felt this useless. Not once did he make a noise to entertain these stupid mutts, who had killed their own Alpha in the past.
Did Erik know that?
At the same time, he didn’t miss noticing the faces of the people who were hitting him. Among them, he recognized two werewolves. Arabella had described the sketches of these two bastards.
Could that mean…
Was this the pack involved in Omegas trafficking?
After all, the person commanding all this just called Arabella ‘a pet’.
“Leave me… Leave me..” He heard Arabella’s voice, who was trying to fight with the person who was pulling her down by holding her leg while she was holding the tree tightly and struggling to free her ankle. Her body was getting a lot of scratches because of this forceful pulling.
“Break her ankle.” The same person ordered
“Noooo!” Wylder shouted. For the first time, he opened his mouth from the moment he started taking all the beating.
“Ahhhaa!! The way to open his mouth is by hurting her.” There was amusement in his tone. “Break her ankle. That’s an order.” He shouted.
“Aaaaaaaaa” Arabella cried in pain, and her grip around the tree loosen, only to fall on the ground with a thud. Tears rolled from her eyes and both hands were on her mouth, trying not to make any sound when her eyes landed on Wylder, who didn’t speak a word but whose eyes were screaming in pain when he observed b***d on the ground.
“Hello Pet,” Finally, Wylder’s eyes landed on the owner of the voice, and it belonged to the same person about whom he was thinking.
Erik.
He had the same blonde hair and teakwood eyes. The only difference was that the boy with whom he used to play was now an adult. At the same time, the innocent child inside him looked dead; after all, it had been around for what, twenty years?
“You have a habit of running all the time, don’t you?” Erik asked, stomping brutally on Arabella’s other ankle while his eyes were on Wylder.
“You bastard,” Wylder shouted, trying to attack him, but damn, his body couldn’t move an inch, while Arabella tried to hold back her scream but failed miserably. The pain was unbearable. She could hear Wylder shouting and yelling, but all she could hear was half of what she was saying.
“Loser, hurt me, not her…. I beg you, leave her….. I will kill you….. Erik…”
“Get me a whip laced with acid. I have to burn her body just like her face.” Erik said, and Wylder’s eyes widened.
Even though it was hard for him to move. He wouldn’t, he wouldn’t let anything happen to her.
Arabella’s vision was blurred because of warm tears. She saw the man stomping on her ankle, raising his hand; she couldn’t see what it was, and all of a sudden, her favorite face came in front of her eyes, looking into her eyes.
“Wild…” she whispered.
“You’re safe.” He muttered with a smile on his face, but it wasn’t reaching his eyes. She took a moment to realize what exactly he was doing by hovering over her.
“This isn’t how… I imagined you to climb on top of me.” She joked, and tears rolled out of her eyes. Even Wylder chuckled at her words, and his tears fell on her face.
Wylder’s body fell on Arabella, and his head hit her head when his hand couldn’t support his body’s strength anymore. “I’m fine… I’m fine.” He muttered to assure her and looked at her, only to see her eyes glowing green. Something was happening to her.
