Chapter 37

“I can’t believe that you lied to me.” Breda accused Arabella when she heard a bucketful of scolding from Wylder for sending her to the kitchen. The moment they reached the kitchen, they found Arabella as the head chef of the kitchen.
That was it. Watching them in this position, Wylder lost his mind and scolded Breda for all the mess.
So, the story began when Arabella was asked to prepare avocado egg salad; she didn’t know how to break the eggs and ended up spoiling a couple of eggs.
The head chef saw that he changed her work by asking her to chop carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions for the salad, but the moment she held the knife, he understood that she didn’t know how to chop. And in the next second, this doubt was confirmed when she started chopping them into irregular shapes.
He changed her task again and asked her to wash the rice, but Arabella squandered one-fourth of the rice while pouring the water out of the pot. When she was asked to wash the meat, she gladly agreed.
After that, her department changed again, and this time it was of transporting items from one location to another, but the oil slipped from her grasp, and she ended up ruining the entire kitchen floor. The head chef, Gavin, tried to reach it and close the lid, but he slipped on the oil. Arabella reached toward him to help him and ended up falling on him.
They tried to stand up but ended up falling again and again.
Gavin signaled other staff to stay away from the area so that they wouldn’t find themselves in the same situation.
Because of all this mess, the food that Gavin was cooking on the grill started burning because of the high temperature. Since the area around the grill was covered with oil, no one could reach it. And that was when Wylder and Breda reached there.
“I didn’t lie. I just told you that I don’t remember whether I know cooking or not.” Arabella reminded Breda in a low tone. “And who keeps his office near the kitchen?” She muttered next.
“Our former Alpha,” Breda replied. “He was a foodie, so he built the office near the kitchen so that he could visit anytime.” She added.
“Alpha Miller made no changes to any location that held memories of our former Alpha, even after assuming command of the pack,” Breda spoke.
“That’s.. That’s so sweet of him.” Arabella spoke, to which Breda nodded her head.
“Gavin told me that you’re not made for the kitchen. There isn’t a single thing that you could do there.” Hearing this, Arabella pouted. She really wanted a job.
“So, can I get any other job? I really want one.” She asked softly, to which Breda glared at her. The last thing she wanted was to get scolded by Wylder again.
“Fine!! Let’s see whether you can clean the damage you have done or if you’re not made for cleaning purposes or not.” Breda came up with the idea.
“Yeah! Cleaning is so easy. Don’t worry, I can do this without any problem.” Arabella said. And after half an hour, she regretted saying that because she didn’t know how to use a mop, and no matter how hard she tried to clean perfectly, Breda used to end up finding a place where she hadn’t cleaned properly.
She was getting irritated with this work, or maybe getting irritated at Breda for kept telling her that the work she was doing wasn’t up to the mark.
“You’re not good at cleaning the floor. Hell, you’re not even wiping the floor properly. One can slip because of your carelessness and might get injured.” Breda noticed Arabella biting her lips to keep herself from snapping at her.
More than that, she was mad at herself and her mind. Yes, her mind, which always used to guide her in one way or another w was all blank and clueless as if she were doing this for the first time.
“Come on, let’s find out if you are good at dusting or not,” Breda suggested. She had made a list of works that Arabella could do, and she was positive that she would finally find a work where Arabella could actually fit.
“Actually… I’m tired. I will have my lunch, and after that, I will rest.” Arabella spoke, giving an excuse to escape this. She was tired even after training, but she was excited at the same time, but this… damn, the work assigned to her was something that made her want to run back to Wylder’s room and sleep the whole day.
“Yeah, sure! I will send Freya to the room. so that she could check on her injuries.” Breda agreed, smiling sheepishly because she already sensed that Arabella was running away from the work. Better for her. Because it looked like she was worst in that and doing the things about which you had no idea meant disaster.

“She is horrible at cooking and cleaning the floor.” Breda updated Wylder, who hummed and kept doing his work. “For now, she is in your room, and if I’m not mistaken, she might rest for the next two to three hours.”
“Thank you, Breda. And I’m sorry for lashing out at you. I don’t know what happened to me at that moment.”
“The moment you saw Bella on Gavin?” Breda asked in a low tone and received a low, threatening growl, telling her not to say a word on that topic. “Alpha, is she your second chance mate?” She asked next because his behavior was damn similar to hers.
“I don’t know, Breda,” Wylder responded, rubbing his head. “If she had been a human, Night would have sensed that already, but she looked like she was not. Something is blocking her wolf, and I want her wolf to come out at any cost to solve this mystery. I can also smell witches’ spells around her, so, at the same time, I don’t want to fall into the trap of this witch thing because witches are wicked. Where our mind stops working, their mind starts working.”
