Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 560

“Mitchel…” Raegan understood the cause of his irritation and hurried after him, her voice soft and reassuring.
But Mitchel seemed not to hear her, his expression stern as he strode forward.
Raegan's calves hurt. They had been hit with rocks, as if they were bruised. The quick pace only intensified his discomfort.
“Ah…” Unable to keep up, he let out a sharp cry of pain, louder than necessary.
Mitchel stopped in his tracks and turned, his concern evident as he grabbed her shoulders. "What happened?"
Standing there, Mitchel looked dignified and imposing, with a natural sharpness to his features. Disheveled or not, he was undeniably handsome.
Raegan stood on tiptoe and kissed him on the cheek. "Mitchel, don't be mad at me, okay?"
Raegan acted almost without thinking. In that split second, he treated Mitchel the same way he would Janey. When comforting words didn't work, the actions of confessing love could do the trick.
However, after their kiss, Mitchel continued to maintain his poker face, making Raegan feel incredibly uncomfortable. Was he still angry? What else could I do?
As Raegan contemplated her next moves, Mitchel looked at her and suddenly hugged her tightly.
Raegan was surprised for a moment, but quickly raised her arms to return the hug.
Then he remembered that the rocks had hit his back when he fell.
Without thinking, he tried to push Mitchel aside to see if he was hurt.
But he didn't let her and hugged her even tighter.
Mitchel looked her in the eyes and said, "If you hate me, push me."
Raegan's arms stopped in the air. He no longer tried to push it away.
Mitchel whispered, his voice low and rich, next to her ear: "Raegan, I love you."
The surrounding noise seemed to stop at this moment.
Raegan's hands shook and she asked, confused, "Why...?" He wanted to ask why he confessed his love for her at a time like this.
Mitchel's voice shook a little as he said softly, “I was afraid I would never get the chance to tell you. Actions are not enough. "I really love you."
Raegan was stunned, not knowing how to react. Feeling a mix of emotions, from feeling moved to feeling guilty, she felt like she had to respond in some way. "Thank you".
Mitchel wanted to convey that he was not looking for her gratitude, but rather her love. However, he wondered if expressing such a wish might seem too demanding. His deep eyes locked onto hers, his voice deep and serious. Raegan, promise me you won't be separated from me again, okay?
The man who used to appear so confident and self-possessed now asked him so humbly.
Raegan felt a stir inside her. From the moment Mitchel risked saving her, she had put the past behind her and decided not to dwell on those heartbreaking questions.
