Chapter 1595:

"There is no need for formality. Please express your gratitude once this case is concluded," Rhett said.

After their meeting, Rhett happened to have an appointment near Nicole's residence and kindly offered to drive her home.

Due to her pregnancy, Nicole had been refraining from driving lately, so she appreciated the offer to give her a ride.

As they entered the vehicle, Jarrod, who was in a nearby car, watched them leave.

Despite their courtroom showdown, Rhett had not left a lasting impression on Jarrod. Lawyers, in Jarrod's opinion, were not worth his attention.

Jarrod's new assistant, however, had done a thorough investigation into Nicole's connections and recognized Rhett. It turned out that he knew Rhett and informed Jarrod, "Mr. Schultz, that's Rhett, a lawyer. He worked at the Dixon Group before moving overseas."

“I see.” Jarrod showed minimal reaction. Apparently Nicole has gotten a new lawyer. The previous one had backed out under pressure from his assistant.

As for the tax investigation into the firm, it seemed like a mere coincidence.

Jarrod would not stoop so low as to be capable of such tactics. He trusted his legal team implicitly and saw no threat from other lawyers.

Reminded by his assistant, Rhett's name slowly resurfaced in Jarrod's mind. Rhett had been very calm and incisive in court last time. Only time had dulled that memory.

Jarrod frowned slightly and asked his assistant, “Look into the relationship between Rhett and Nicole.” Their interaction had struck a chord.

"Yes, sir," the assistant responded promptly.

The next day, Jarrod was sitting in his office when his assistant told him that Nicole's lawyer had requested a meeting.

Jarrod, charmed by the lawyer's frankness, agreed. "Grant him entry," he ordered.

Rhett entered Jarrod's office, exuding calm and composure, extending a respectful greeting to Jarrod. His unwavering demeanor elicited admiration.

Jarrod remained silent, anticipating Rhett's initial comments.

"Mr. Schultz, please excuse my interruption. I wish to discuss my client's questions with you," Rhett said.

Jarrod replied coldly, “I am not interested in your client’s questions. “Inform her that the only outcome is my victory.”

Rhett remained unfazed, his smile subtle but unwavering.

"Mr. Schultz, may I suggest that you review my client's requests before making a decision? Ms. Lawrence is asking for minimal visitation rights for the child's well-being. As both parents, resolving this matter out of court would benefit all parties involved , wouldn't you agree?"

At the same time, Rhett presented a clipboard to Jarrod, expressing his regret: “My apologies, Mr. Schultz. “I arrived in a hurry and forgot the original documents, but they are available digitally for your personal.”

Initially uninterested, Jarrod flipped through the documents, firm in his decision to deny Nicole access to Austin. Just as he was about to discard them, however, something on the screen caught his eye. I have scrutinized it intently, enlarging the image to examine it more closely.

In the picture, Nicole and Rhett's meeting place was obvious. What caught Jarrod's attention was a box of medicine lying in a corner.

Jarrod knew Nicole had health problems, but the name of the medication was unfamiliar and unrelated to her known stomach treatments. Instead, it seemed to be…
