Chapter 1592:

? ? ? ? ?

“Okay, I understand.” Curious, Nicole asked, “What brings you to the hospital?”

"I accompanied a colleague for a check-up," Roscoe explained.

"Well, go ahead, I'll be heading back now," Nicole said, preparing to leave.

“If you need anything, call me,” Roscoe offered, his concern evident.

“I will.” Nicole walked away, leaving Roscoe watching her retreating figure, concern etched on his face.

Just watching Nicole walk away seemed like a luxury to Roscoe. He recognized the possibility of never getting back into Nicole's heart. But as long as Nicole thrived, he accepted their possible estrangement. He decided to retreat and appear only when she needed him.

As Nicole left the hospital, she was informed that the firm was closing. She paused, realizing Jarrod's implication. Any lawyer who dared represent her would face consequences.

Her temples were throbbing. Who else could she turn to for her defense? Jarrod continued to block her access to Austin. Why? Austin was her son. What authority did he have to dictate her access to him? She hadn't even been present during Austin's formative years due to the baby blues.

Contemplating this, Nicole resolved her stance regarding the new life emerging within her. She stroked her abdomen. “I apologize, my son. Please forgive your selfish mother. “I cannot bring you into this realm.”

She really wanted to break ties with Jarrod. If their union wasn't going to happen, there was no reason to stay involved. Plus, she lacked the confidence to raise another child.

As long as Austin thrived in safety, his duty would be fulfilled. If it weren't for Austin and his mother, he would have been reunited with his late father long ago.

Nicole persisted. She didn't let the closing of one law firm deter her from seeking custody of Austin. She began contacting numerous reputable law firms, but they all refused to take her case.

Upon hearing his name, some law firms immediately refused, obviously heeding previous warnings. It was logical. No one dared offend the CEO of the Schultz Group because of an unknown woman.

Leaving aside the potential outcome of prevailing against the Schultz Group's legal team, being blacklisted by Jarrod was a prospect no one wanted. It was tantamount to cutting off his source of income. No one possessed such recklessness.

Selecting a law firm took time. Nicole circulated information in legal circles while booking an agreement for the termination of the pregnancy. She went to the hospital on Wednesday.

During her visit to the hospital, the doctor performed a series of tests on her. After confirming that she was suitable for a medical abortion, I prescribed her the necessary medication.

The doctor explained in detail: “We have two types of medication here. For the first three days, take this one three times a day. It is gentler on your body. On the fourth day, return to the hospital for the final dose, which will expel the embryo. Afterwards, we will perform a follow-up cleaning procedure.”

Nicole took the medication and asked, "Will the baby be gone after the fourth dose?"

The doctor agreed. “Indeed. The medication for the first three days prepares your body, and the final dose requires administration in the hospital for monitoring.”

Nicole struggled with a relentless malaise. Despite everything, she recognized this as life and could not suppress her melancholy.

Seeing his troubled expression, the doctor suggested, “Take this with you and deliberate before you begin. Once you begin, there is no turning back. Make sure your resolve is firm.”

Nicole numbly and walked out of the hospital in a daze. Outside, a gentle rain began to veil her tears.
