Chapter 1570:

? ? ? ? ?

Nicole was amazed at the results. Could those pills really have worked wonders?

Eager for confirmation and intrigued by the possible implications for her health, Nicole quickly called Roscoe. After a few rings, I picked up.

“Nicole?” Roscoe answered in a tone that reflected surprise at his call.

Nicole hadn't been in contact with Roscoe for a while, mostly due to the complications in her life and Jarrod's surveillance.

She was hesitant to involve Roscoe, not wanting to involve him in her problems. However, she found herself in need of her medical expertise, particularly in genetic testing, an area in which she far exceeded her knowledge.

“Roscoe, could you please review my medical records? All of my test results are normal. Does this mean those pills worked? More importantly, could Austin take those pills?” Nicole’s voice crackled with cautious optimism over the call. The possibility that the same pills might help Austin filled her with a mix of hope and anxiety.

Roscoe promptly responded to Nicole’s request: “Send me the details and we can discuss it more comfortably over voice chat.”

As they switched to a voice call, Nicole forwarded him the test results.

Remembering his earlier carelessness, he inquired after his health: “How are you holding up, Roscoe?”

Roscoe paused, a hint of doubt in his voice, perhaps indicating he preferred to keep his order private. “I'm managing pretty well, Nicole. Thanks for asking,” he reassured her, his tone firm.

Relieved to hear that Roscoe was okay, Nicole continued, “I’m glad to hear that. Now, about my report…”

Roscoe briefly reviewed her medical data before replying, “Nicole, the results suggest that your body has almost returned to normal, which is remarkable.”

The conversation then turned to Austin. “What's going on with Austin? Is it possible he’s using the pills?” Nicole asked, sounding worried.

“How did you come across the pills?” Roscoe asked, recalling the chaotic circumstances Nicole hadn't mentioned before.

Nicole explained how she had discovered the porcelain jar before the Alec incident, an oversight in her previous explanation due to the tumult.

Roscoe, pleased but cautious, considered the implications. “It's promising, but each case is unique. We can’t assume Austin will respond identically.” Contemplating further, he asked, “How many pills are left?”

Nicole checked. “There are five left in the jar,” she informed him.

Reflecting on their shared history with pill-taking, Roscoe commented, “You had taken three, and the witch made me take four. We have to plan this carefully. “Austin might need up to four pills.”

Roscoe explained: “Nicole, to be honest, about a quarter of my brain was consumed by parasites. If it had been anyone else, I would probably be paralyzed and bedridden. But Emerie kept me alive thanks to medicine.

Although it wasn't as powerful as the pills I found, it kept me going. During the ritual, he gave me four of those pills. Although the lost parts of my brain didn't regenerate, they formed a closed gap, allowing me to live normally, except for some headaches.

We both experienced positive results after taking the pills, but I can't be sure Austin can use them, so I need to study a pill first."

Roscoe hadn't planned to share this information. As a man, he didn't feel compelled to expose his scars, and he didn't want to burden Nicole. He knew Nicole like the back of his hand.
