Chapter 1566:

? ? ? ? ?

Jarrod's expectations were clear: he wanted Nicole's complete indifference to Roscoe. His inability to meet this demand left Nicole anxiously contemplating Roscoe's fate.

Jarrod's cruelty disillusioned her more and more and she wondered why he continued to torment her through those she loved. Did he find satisfaction in this cycle of manipulation and suffering?

Suddenly, Jarrod grabbed Nicole and dragged her away, ignoring her requests for an explanation. They stopped at a closed back door of the banquet hall, where Nicole saw through the glass that Roscoe was being brutally assaulted by several men.

The man who had earlier tried to ingratiate himself with Jarrod was now orchestrating the attack, loudly directing his thugs to finish off Roscoe. Nicole’s heart raced as she screamed through the door, “Stop! Stop right now! This is murder. Bastards.”

Her desperate pleas fell on deaf ears. The men outside intensified the beating, paying no attention to Nicole. Roscoe, although a capable fighter, was overwhelmed by the sheer number of attackers. Once on the ground, the brutality continued, leaving him unable to defend himself.

Nicole's horror turned to rage. Determined to intervene, she ran through the front door to bypass the building, but Jarrod's quick reflexes prevented her from escaping.

He slammed her against the glass door, forcing her to witness Roscoe's continued punishment. With her face pressed against the glass, she was trapped in her own torment, having to watch the suffering she had tried to prevent.

“See?” Jarrod's voice was a menacing whisper. “Are you already regretting your actions? Doesn’t this scene look familiar to you?” His words recalled a past incident in which Nicole had witnessed Roscoe's beating, separated by a glass window.

Jarrod's anger was palpable, his frustration nearly uncontrollable. He had always masked his violent tendencies for Nicole's sake, but now, his aggressive nature was fully unleashed. “Why don't you ever learn?” I have grownled. His tone was laced with bitterness, reflecting his unmasked rage.

Jarrod was determined to teach Nicole a brutal lesson, making sure she understood who was in charge of her life and who she should avoid. Pressed against the glass, Nicole's pleas were desperate. "Jarrod, please don't bring any more strangers into this," she pleaded. "Leave Roscoe out of it."

Jarrod scoffed. “Who is an ‘outsider’ to you? If Roscoe was really an outsider, he wouldn't be in this situation. It’s your fault, Nicole.” He mocked her, “You gave him false hope, didn't you? Is this what you wanted?”

Roscoe, battered and bloodied, struggled to get up each time he was knocked down, his resilience shining through despite the relentless attack. Nicole's anguish grew. She screamed, “Jarrod, this is all because of your paranoia! You’ll never trust me no matter what I do, will you?”

“Then prove it to me. Make me believe you,” Jarrod replied. “You know what it takes.”

Overwhelmed by despair, Nicole sobbed, “I don't know… I don't know…” Her hope seemed to crumble as each setback crushed her spirits. Caught in a relentless cycle, she felt defeated.

In a moment of desperation, Nicole exclaimed: “You should kill me, Jarrod! Stop this torture…”

Jarrod's response was chillingly distant. "Do you really want to die? And who would you like to die with you?"

Nicole's eyes snapped open as Jarrod listed the possible victims, each name adding to her growing fear. “First, there's Roscoe. Who's next? Jamie? Ethel? “Jemma?” His tone was deliberate, designed to elicit fear.

Confused, Nicole asked, “What are you talking about?” What do Ethel and Jemma have to do with any of this?” Jamie had caused harm and might deserve consequences, but Ethel and Jemma seemed irrelevant.

Jarrod smirked. “If you're sure they have nothing to do with each other, you wouldn't have brought up the subject of death. You don’t want to be Austin’s mother or my wife, but you prefer death?”
