Chapter 1565
Chapter 1565:
? ? ? ? ?
His voice breaks off as he doesn't know what to say. Staying quiet would be better than risking offending Jarrod as well.
Unexpectedly, Jarrod spoke up. “It's okay. I agree that it was disrespectful. No matter what, Roscoe is still a member of the Watts family, and what he did was unacceptable.”
Jarrod turned to Nicole and said with a mocking expression, "Are you trying to defend Roscoe?"
Nicole was left speechless. She couldn't read his intentions, but she knew that his seemingly calm expression actually hid his bad temper.
The man was even more bewildered. He felt the tension rising at the table. Nicole seemed to be on Roscoe's side, but Jarrod himself was not. The two had opposing opinions, but when push came to shove, the man knew who to flatter.
The man decided not to participate further in the conversation and walked away with a smile after saying goodbye to Jarrod.
Jarrod. However, as he passed Roscoe, he deliberately bumped into him, causing wine to spill onto his clothes. “Are you blind?” I have cried. “You've spilled wine on me!”
Roscoe looked confused at the man who had suddenly appeared. The man had clearly hit him with his elbow.
Roscoe calmly replied, “I think you're wrong. “It was you who ran into me.”
The man scoffed, “Are you accusing me? Do you have proof?”
No one came to Roscoe's aid, and the man burst out laughing. He grabbed a bottle of wine from a passing waiter and poured it over Roscoe's head. "You're not welcome here. Ingrates like you don't belong here. You should leave."
The man humiliated Roscoe with actions and words.
Sounds of satisfied smiles arose from the crowd as people took in the spectacle.
Roscoe could not contain himself any longer. He threw a punch at the man, and a fight immediately broke out.
However, it soon became clear that the man was no match for Roscoe. Security guards were called in, but they were obviously biased and instead of breaking up the fight, they joined in to beat up Roscoe.
Seeing that Roscoe was outnumbered, Nicole shot out of her seat. But before she could take the step, she felt a hand close around her wrist, forcing her back into her seat.
Jarrod spoke in a cold voice. “If you help him now, you'll only make things worse.”
Nicole felt as if her feet were nailed to the ground. She looked at Jarrod with a pleading expression. “Jarrod, please forgive him. “You know I can’t be with him anymore.” When she chose to marry Jarrod for Austin's sake, she had completely eliminated the word “marriage” from her life. She wouldn't marry or be with anyone else. She didn't want to bring more suffering to Roscoe.
“As long as you don't get involved with him again. Otherwise, you’ll just cause more problems for him.” Jarrod's voice was relentless.
Nicole watched as security guards kicked Roscoe out of the banquet.
Roscoe was completely excluded from the Ardens circle, and the Watts family was in huge debt. If the company really went bankrupt, Roscoe, as its legal representative, would have to take care of everything. He could even be put in jail. All of this was connected to her.
“I won't, I promise. I won't contact him or talk to him. Just please…Leave him out of this.” Nicole realized that Jarrod hadn't taken her to dinner out of kindness. He brought her here to show her how miserable Roscoe was.
“Wrong answer,” Jarrod said coldly.
