Chapter 1537:

Emerie said to the boss in a pleading tone: “Boss, this woman dares to challenge your authority. Please put an end to her defiance!”

Seeing Emerie's passionate appeal, Nicole recognized her as the most devout follower, deeply immersed in her mistaken beliefs. Undaunted, Nicole persisted in exposing the truths she had discovered.

“Emerie, you may be younger than me, but have you ever questioned the idea that you are over eighty? Do you really have memories spanning eight decades?” Nicole commented, her tone measured but pointed.

Emerie's expression faltered, her mind grappling with the absence of memories from her early years. Since childhood she had been indoctrinated to accept her supposed age, reinforced by the boss's fabricated evidence.

In this isolated enclave, the chief had unquestionable authority, revered as a deity alongside the Spirit. Doubting her word was unthinkable.

“You obviously lack those memories,” Nicole continued, her voice firm. “Don't you see the incongruity? While you remain eternally young, your boss ages before your eyes.”

Emerie hesitated, her loyalty wavering momentarily before she came to the defense of her revered boss. “You speak lies!” she tortured, her voice shaking with conviction. “The boss does not age. “She is a heavenly being, beyond reproach.”

Nicole frowned. “A heavenly being?” Her tone dripped with sarcasm as she said, “Why don't you ask your esteemed boss to reveal her true visage beneath the mask of human skin?”

“Human skin?” Emerie's disbelief was palpable.

However, despite Nicole's observation, none of the followers dared to entertain such blasphemous thoughts.

Nicole continued, pointing out the incongruity between the boss's smooth face and the wrinkled texture of her neck. “Look at her wrinkled neck. Isn't it obvious that something is wrong?”

The witches' gazes instinctively turned to the stage. Among them, the sharp-sighted ones discerned a discrepancy in the appearance of the chief's neck.

Emerie, however, entrenched in her unwavering devotion, refused to entertain such doubts. “Stop scaring me, you devil!” she exclaimed defiantly.

"The Spirit will punish you."

Unwilling to debate further, Nicole pointed towards the stage. “Let your esteemed boss come down and dismiss these accusations to see if my words are without merit!”

In a surprising turn of events, a voice from the crowd echoed Nicole's feelings. “Boss, this woman is spreading falsehoods. Please come down and restore our faith.”
