Chapter 1536:

Their voices rose in fervent chorus. “That's it! Chief, show no mercy to this insolent wretch who dares to profane our sacred rites! Let her suffer a fate commensurate with her transgressions!”

Amidst the tumultuous clamor, a lone voice pierced the chaos. “We beseech the Spirit to deal with the intruder!”

With united fervor, the assembled witches echoed the plea. “We beseeched the Spirit to deal with the intruder.”

Under increasing pressure from her jealous followers, the boss found herself cornered and her authority was hanging by a thread. In a fit of frustration, she shouted: "Silence!"

Instantly, the cacophony of voices ceased, silenced by the force of the chief's order.

Undaunted by the boss's display of authority, Nicole addressed the witches with unwavering confidence: "You've all been fooled."

With conviction, Nicole continued, “The Spirit does not exist. Look at me. I have taken your revered holy witch host, and yet I remain unscathed by you. Don't you see? Your boss wields no divine power. “She has been deceiving you all along!”

“Impossible!” the witches shouted vehemently, rejecting Nicole's accusations.

"The boss extends her benevolence, offering you a chance at redemption," one of the witches intervened, trying to calm the tense atmosphere.

“That's right,” the boss interjected, taking the opportunity to assert his dominance. “I am giving you a chance. However, if you scorn it, you will have a fate far worse than death.”

“There is no need for such theatrics,” Nicole said, her voice defiant. “Proceed to inflict upon me the most terrible death imaginable, so that your followers may witness the truth.”

“You!” the boss complained, her complexion pale with indignation.

"What? Did the cat get your tongue?" Nicole replied disdainfully.

“Either you subject me to your imagined horrors or you release that man at the altar. Your reign of terror ends now. You will no longer hide in the shadows of these mountains, perpetrating atrocities against the innocent. Your days of deceit are numbered.”

Blinded by their unwavering faith in divine decree, the witches remained steadfast in their conviction that their actions were righteous, unable to comprehend any wrongdoing.

Disdainful of Nicole's attempts to enlighten them, the witches remained steadfast in their belief that sacrificing souls was a virtuous enterprise ordained by higher powers.

Frustrated by Nicole's persistent defiance, the chieftain exploded into a rage. “Stop the seditious chatter!” he shouted, his voice dripping with disdain. “Our witch clan is beyond the influence of a mere mortal like you.”
